"Infected?" The dwarf glanced at Barkvin for an answer, kneeling down near Aria so she wouldnt have to speak loudly, nodding when she mentions the old house. "Mory House, gotta be." He snarled. "Cannibal freaks. Skorn killed em all... " He turned to see the deadman standing up. "We need to figure out how this thing can die before we go to Ethyl, if there's more of them we'll be sittin' ducks. Fire? Destroy the head? Silver? Holy water?" He took out an oil flask. "We oughta call over Creed... Or even Gavan." Whatever thing was, it was unnatural. "I have oil, if someone can fetch a torch or a fire spell. Could chain it with its own trap."

Aaliyah had arrived back in town just to see Niko kill a man and then that man rise again. He grabbed his own head and then Niko began hacking away at him. She called for holy water, Murdain called for fire.

 

Acid. Acid killed almost everything, right? She strolls towards the inn and extends her hand and a stream of acid bathes the man. "I got it! I'll make him stay dead!"

 

Aaliyah had disappeared in the middle of the night without a word. She felt for not telling anyone but she really didn't want them following her. Ved might sleep with her mom by accident or Souris might preach about Baba who isn't very popular there. She didn't want Niko to meet her other moms though she wasn't sure why.

 

When she comes back to town, she's not wearing her usual green dress. She has changes it out for a tight fitting pair of green dyed leather pants and a sleeveless vest that matches. The fake cat ears are still present though and she has a soft fleece cloak if forest greens with a hood she has pulled up.

 

OOC: casting Tasha's Caustic Brew. Make a DC 16 dex save or take 2d6 acid damage every turn.

I need to know what people are doing. Niko drops him again and the acid is doing stuff. Will he get back up? Only way to find out is to stop attacking. Consider initiative paused, act freely for now.

Ved's face goes flat at the mention of old Ved. "You know what. Sounds like I'll make out better if I let the place run wild, and then pick up all the bounties you have to drop to pull it back together again. Find someone else.

"As for the old man, if you want him gone, you know what to do." Ved nods at the sword that's bound in its sheath. "I won't stop you, but I won't help you either. But take my advice. Leave him alone, because he'll kill you. He'll die in a year anyway, his liver is gone.

"If you want me to put him in the ground, the price is fifty thousand gold."

Ved puts another bolt through the corpse's heart, just to make sure.

The battle was hardly satisfying, over before it started and there was still Ethyl out there somewhere. ~We going now?~ She muttered into the mind of Murdain, before lulling her head towards the town entrance. They could sort out what sort of shit storm these two stirred up later, in the meantime every minute delayed was a minute closer to death for Ethyl, assuming she was still alive.

Murdain glanced at the state of the monster that was once a Mory - or maybe thats how all of them were from the start? - and nodded with a grimace to Souris' question. "Barkvin, how's Aria? Is it safe to leave her for now?" Even if it would mean Ethyl's death, if they left Aria to die here, and then found out Ethyl gave her life for nothing... "As long as acid works... We're fine. Remember where the place is, Souris?" It seemed like years ago, when he infiltrated the farmstead to get the hunter back. "...If all of the dead Morys are like this, we're probably looking at about five of this... walking trash. Gotta wonder if its thanks to the Skorn's efforts, but... Doubt it. Hopefully nothing spots this fellow, or Gavan would have a heart attack." A heart attack and maybe start executing anyone nearby on suspicions of necromancy...

"Mory... Mory? I knew a Mory... the hag. Fleshmancer... my memory seems fragmented. I think my slumber has had an effect on me..."  Ved hears the psychic grumbling from the sword st mention of the Mory name.

 

The man seems to stay dead this time, his body mostly melted.

Barkvin. Aria seems exhausted but you're confident she won't suffer any permanent effects. At least no urgent effects. If she's afflicted with something, its likely on the slower side.

As the creature rises back up, Barkvin shakes his head in concern. With the trap now removed and the monster burned with acid, he replies to Murdain. "Aye, the goddess' healing light will cure any natural infection. I don't see any sign of magical infection, but would be good to check on her later." He then turns his attention back to Aria. "We'll go after your sister. Try to bring her back. You stay here and get some rest. But quick, tell us what you found. No time to waste and it may be more important than you think."

Her large head bobbed a nod at the dwarf's question, then she turned to head towards the Morley's house and began to walk at a speed slow for her, but it would be brisk if not a jog for a human or dwarf. There was no point waiting, the fact that they were dawdling was just making her angry, there was a young girl captive to a group of these demented men and they though it a good time to have a chat before going to help her. Regardless, they could talk on the way.

"I'll take care of her," Agatha says, emerging from the inn just in time to hear the call to action. She tries not to look at the half melted disaster of a mess just outside her inn. Instead, she takes charge of Aria. "Help me get her inside and then go. I'll get Mayor Creed."

 

Assuming someone quickly carries Aria inside, you get her settled onto a bench and then you're on your way.

 

OOC: I assume you are moving at full speed. I will allow two people to make survival checks or one to make it with advantage.
