Only one of the men is still on his feet but the others begin to twitch a bit. They aren't rising yet and two of them aren't moving at all. The one on his feet cries out loudly though, a bloodcurdling scream that echoes through the woods. Like the howl of wolves, you hear more cries answer and a violent stampede of noise coming through the woods. More men are coming and it sounds like a dozen. No, more than a dozen, maybe two dozen? They're mostly coming from east and west, leaving you two directions you might move in if you wanted to relocate.

 "Far too many to fight here. How far is this house?" Niko was already preparing to run the way they'd been going initially. She just hoped everyone would follow suit. "Come! Run ahead of me so if they fall upon us, it'll be my back they reach first. We must find a place to better control how they approach us."

"Very noble of you. How about we run at the same time, and make an orderly retreat like soldiers that intend to live, rather than heroes trying to die?"

Ved parries a couple of swipes and steps back with impeccable footwork.

"The sword said the Mory family had some kind of hag-mancer. Flesh-hag? That was long ago, so hopefully not the same thing."

Ved doesn't wait to see if Nikoletta takes his advice. He runs.

"Uh oh, not safe..." she exclaims, bolting towards Souris and the others. "How do we run if they're this fast?" The answer wasn't one she was waiting for. Already her legs were moving as fast as she could make them move.

 

OOC: Double moving but trying to linger at the back so she can try to slow some of them if they get close.

The dwarf's lips almost parted in a satisfied grin - almost. They'd nearly mopped them up. Then, the creature howled, and more resounded from the surroundings. He cursed, dashing forward, same idea as the huntress. "Few hundred feet. Two houses, maybe ten feet between em. Two and three stories. Five-foot fence. Gate." Murdain's answers were short and snappish. There was little time to waste on niceties. Besides, he knew someone would understand the strategic value of what he said. Ved's words drew another curse - the Second Hag. Where was the third? Could they contend with this Mory hag if this bunch swarmed them, and could there be more? They battered Souris pretty badly even as-is. A hag on top of that... But he did have some aces up his sleeve; the eruption of pure winter's malice from the wolfskull on his right hand, and the words of undoing that came to him in his last trance. "Wounded and group up - will turn them all to ice." He offered while dashing. He contemplated throwing one of the unknown items in Aria's bag at the creatures behind him, but didnt know the function. But if they were going to get mauled by this pack of cannibal monsters... It was worth a shot. But what if it needed fire? He'd be too slow.

The screaming howl made her wince, large head dipping as the ghoul man summoned more of his brethren. They were coming like a swarm and soon they would be engulfed, the solution was a simple one. A funnel, manipulate them into a position where their numbers did not count. Turning towards the Mory house she bounded, then transformed twisting in midstride she called upon the powers of primal life as she drove her spear into the ground. "I we can funnel them into a corridor so their numbers count for little. This way!"

"Flor Vita Eruptio!" The land then burst forth with verdant fury, plants shooting upwards as months of growth happened in fractions of seconds.

Cast Plantgrowth, imagine from the sky it looks like a near circular leaf with a 100ft radius and various channels funneling into to a main path that leads towards the Mory's house. Goal is to impede everyone but us. There are no channels in the 50ft closest to the Mory's. Also the main vein is 10ft wide with a "bubble" chamber that's a 10ft radius spheres at 50ft increments.

You bolt away towards the house. At first it seems most likely you'll be overrun long before you reach it until Souris shifts out if her bear form and beseaches the elements to lend aid. The grass in the area grows explosively, weeds and roots bursting forth to snatch at feet.

 

The pending swarm is slowed considerably and in the night, your unable to even see them through the dark woods.

 

You arrive at the Mory compound from the south. The walls are just lines of metal supports with a chicken wire mesh between them. The gate is simple wood, meant to offer easy access for the family. None of it is meant for a siege but any attacker of a lesser caliber wod have to jump the fence asb8ta flexibility makes a brute force effort likely to turn it into a net.

 

The howling screams swm farther away now. As you look at the fence posts, there seems to be strange lettering engraved in them, not unlike magical symbols.

 

OOC: to jump this fence, i need a DC 10 athletics check.

Racing through the woods at night to the sound of howls and inhuman screeching wasnt how he thought this night would go. But in theory, the cannibal swarm would be gathering behind them, which should make them easier to destroy all at once. The fence loomed just ahead, but the fence posts didnt look as he remembered them - or maybe he only noticed it now? The words were readable, but... This was gibberish. He didnt exactly want to hop a fence that may have read 'This wall explodes when crossed' or whatever it was a witch or hag would have written on her property, but there wasnt exactly time for discussion. Instead, he yelled the words out, adding a "What does this mean?!" If any of the others understood it, it would save time - they wouldnt have to read it. Once someone responded, he would hop the fence and dash to the buildings.

Aaliyah hops over the short fence and nimbly lands on the other side. Right away she turns around and both hands form balls of energy in them. "Inside the house?" She asks.
