When overheard by sister Finn slips into his old mannerisms like a familiar glove "I'd hate to bur your chaste ears with horrors we saw, but in short our last fight was against literally naked people. So it is not so much on relieving the guards from weapons but making sure sailors are as well armed and armored as possible. Since our last fight thought us crazy don't care if they fight a party of well-equipped adventurers armed with nothing but nipple rings."

"And the ratio of refugees vs sailors is getting seriously one-sided. And yes those refugees that fall our test for Evil might not be cultists, but they would still be Evil, so leaving them in the locked cell with food and warm blankets seems better than they deserve."

"We are..." Again Finn almost slips and says paid but this time corrects himself fairly smoothly "...hired to protect the sheep, not the wolves." He glances toward Pixie "Amyly, you were the last to see the state of the ship, what would you say with this bunch how many civilians fall to one sailor?" While awaiting the answer he turns to his sister who approaches him "Since you volunteered, I'll give you a small task. While you will be escorted to the ship, not one from this group is to actually board it yet, for security reasons."

Warlock's attention returns to the job at hand and he raises eyebrows to Drewan and Strunthal "To repeat thing we did before crazy naked people? The three of us arranged ourselves so we could hit first from the range as soon as the door was open, then we are in fate's hands. The only issue is with some needing to escort our last batch of...refugees. I think only Deinara can stay with us to open the door and then act as one of the front liners, I'll move forward too. So let's hope this time door works in our favor. Deinara and I will stand and block the path, rather violently if necessary and Drewan and Strunthal shoot from behind us. Let's hope we won't miss the others. Thoughts?"

Argent had been silent throughout their dealings with the survivors, his remaining innocence having been tested severely by the horrors and strangeness he had witnessed today. Unicorns were known for their purity and this place was about as far from pure as one could get without descending into the hells. Still, he slowly pulled himself together enough to be helpful to the party.

Finn's plan made sense and he was happy to scan this group and any others they came across with Detect Evil to make sure there weren't any shapeshifters or cultists hiding amongst the survivors. A glimmer at the tip of his horn was the only sign he was casting magic and he guessed most of the group were too shaken up to worry much about whether the unicorn was testing their hearts.

"I can go with the survivors to the boat. Unless we think the way behind us is clear enough for them to be safe on their own? If we're going through the secret door I can be at the front or back as necessary." Argent was no tactician and would leave the planning to those more suited to it.

Amyly helped escort the survivors back to the ship, she noticed Strunthal find the hidden stairs "well done that dwarf, we know now what we should do" she said. Looking at Finn she says "there looks to be as many sailors as passengers. Let us get the rest of these rooms explored and find out what is under this building" she said.

Finn raises an eyebrow and for once instead of one of his razorwire grins or smirks gives a genuine smile "You hunted the ship, returned here, escorted the refugees, returned here, and are still in the hurry? Where the hell all that energy is stored in? Birds built for endurance would asked for a brake by now."

Amyly looked at Finn and said "I keep trim and work out, I assumed that everyone did that" she spoke using a soft tone " it would seem that we need to make haste and get the magical weapons from upstairs, we can at least fight more efficiently" she said.

"I'd say I'm reasonably fit for a Human and still I'd sit and take a breather. As for magical weapons we just talked about it, Strunthal and Devon can go and get them while Deinara, Derwan, and I hold the fort here in case what is on the other side of the door comes and visits us instead. Argent is busy scanning refugees." Now there is a little smirk in the corner of his lip "I assume your energetic little self will go with Strunthal and Devon?"

Amyly looked a Finn for a long moment and then replied "I have caught my breath, you should not worry whether I am panting for air and keep an eye on that door. Whatever happened to this place is connected to that door" the fey said, she slipped outside and could see the ship pulling up. She helped the survivors aboard and then sat a little, once they were all aboard she returned back to the party.

Reminded of refugees Finn gets serious and that flinty hardness to his tone returns "We are too lax with them and with that boat. We need a solution that doesn't include "put them on the ship" since besides being irresponsible it's becoming less and less viable."

He thinks for a minute scratching various arcane symbols into the floor "There is still a pretty large nursing staff that is of sound mind and body. Between the dock and the Asylum, there is that elevator. Tasking the strongest among them to erect a makeshift hospital at the bottom, securing it with guards that passed Argent's test, and then supplying them from here with stuff we find intact could work as mid-station between here and the boat."

"It would give physically capable and sane personnel a renewed sense of purpose which would help them recover from the ordeal faster. Also, triage of refugees would be more easily managed that way sending those worst off first. Now is too late but from now on if there are more survivors I'd keep the ratio 2/1 in the sailor's favor. I know it is not perfect and it would chafe some in the party leaving some survivors in a makeshift camp instead of evacuating them immediately. But looking at the large picture it is the safest way. Here we should find more than enough fire fuel with all furniture, barricades, and stuff, as well as food."

He keeps tome neutral so as not to place any blame on any one person or group in particular "The boat can help in return trips with that too, maybe bringing more of that tea too and other necessities. That way we make sure who we send is safe, and if someone slips through the cracks they will be outnumbered by sailors. So far we've been too chaotic in our approach trying to save as many as possible as fast as possible. I agree with the "as many" part but we should slow down a bit now when it's becoming nearly certain one boat is not enough. Screening should become standard procedure too. Some might wait a day longer to set sail but they will wait in a warm safe camp with nursing staff and supplies getting sent from above instead of a cold cell."

My words, | My thoughts, | My actions . . .

Splitting the group is rarely a good idea. I agree we should go get those magic weapons, but we have no idea what we are going to encounter up there. Sending just two or three of us might not be enough if we encounter heavy resistance up there. And we may need more than just the three of us to bring back the magic weapons. I can drive a piton into the crack around the secret door and jam it so it can't be opened until we get back with the magic weapons. That way we can completely clear this floor and upstairs and make certain there is nothing nasty up here to follow us down there, leaving us caught between two groups of hostiles.

And if we are going to set up a hospital slash staging area for those we rescue, it will most likely have to be inside this building. I agree sending more people to the ship is not a good idea and won't be feasible after this batch. But I don't think any of them would survive outside, in this weather, long enough to build any kind of useful shelter. We clear out the rest of this floor and the upstairs one and then we can select a room or rooms to have any others hide out in till this situation is settled.

So if the others agree, he will do his best to jam the secret door with a piton or two and then lead whoever is coming with him upstairs and go after the stash of magical weapons. He will do his best to keep an eye out for traps and other surprises as he goes.

Finn nods "If you think that's the best. If my memory serves there were a few isolated rooms right at the entrance, two or three, we could convert them. Maybe one for our use too, we might have to spend the night too. Take one closest to the yard as the buffer between survivors and scary monsters. At least night guard should be easy, sitting in the doorway should be enough to see all doors."

Nedlesly rechecking his dark blade for any imperfections he waits until Dwarf finishes securing the room "Whenever you are ready. Who knows where is that mystical place with magical weapons? If it's not front-line fighter just stand behind me and the point I'll lead and trust Strunthal and Drewen not to mess up my nice armor with their projectiles." He winks at the two, he saw their work enough times today to know that is very unlikely to happen

"So Deinara, Argent, and Devon, are you coming with us or have something else in mind?" He skips Pixie since he assumed she would go anyway and her unique position, being part of the group and the outsider too also made him unwilling to even suggest what she'll do

"I can open the door and take point for the gathering of magical items, as well as for any other doors we need to open. As for future survivors, I agree they will need to wait their turn rather than trying to cram them all into a single boat. Finn brought up the possibility of an imposter making their way into the group, and while we cannot be certain, it's better to be cautious than not when dealing with such matters."

Warlock nods at Deinara "Should we take the point together, or have one at the rear? I think Drewan and Strumhal go in the middle, that way they can answer with the ranged attack to both sides if we are threatened." He raises an eyebrow at Devon "My apologies I heard it from Amyly, but you were busy treating refugees/prisoners I didn't want to mess into your work."

He thinks for a second "Well we can't leave Argent alone then can we (still under the assumption GM moves him) he can be a powerhouse up close. What does Everyone think of this order of marching: Deinara and I on the point, Strunthal, Drew, and Devon in the middle in the order they decide, and Argent at the rear? Once we reach the place with weapons Strunthal moves up to deal with possible traps and doors we take what we can use, stash what we can't, and then return to this door. Rough plan. Any idea how to improve it?"

Voice returns "His idea? He had plenty of those. Placing everyone on the boat...every time, nursing every bubu, he's basically to blame for everything that went bad logistically. Send him on the boat, liability, not to mention the look he gave you. BETRAYER!!!..." There is a white flash in Finn's mind as Warlock makes good on his threat and releases a portion of the arcane energy he left prepped for this. He was physically prepared for this and others wouldn't notice a thing but playing with magic inside your head tends to lead to consequences. A thin line of blood runs from his nose but he doesn't notice it "You were warned, back off."
