Combat - Chap 2

Please make your rolls for initiative. And don't forget you get a +2 from Chelia's scouting. In this situation you may roll perception, stealth, or intimidation (if you include a good scary roar).

HP: 28/28 | AC: 19 (20 with shield) | speed: 30 | hero: 1/1

Perception: +7 | Fort: +7 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5

conditions: none

When everybody is ready, Chelia takes point again and when the arrive at the door, she rushes in towards one of the goblins or dogs closest to the exit, so she could block that and prevent them from running out, or failing that, others from rushing in as they had done. She kept silent while doing it except for the words needed to put her force shield up.

OOC

exploration activity: scouting (gives a +2 to initiative)

action 1: move towards the enemy closest to the top corridor

action 2: attack (used a d10 instead of a d20 on the roll and still rolled higher)

action 3: raise shield

Well, time for the show. Maybell starts out with her usual, letting the magic of her viol invigorate her allies with the courage of heroes... and then, pick up a nice rock or piece of debris with her magic, give it purpose and let it be shot at the nearest doggy!

OOC: Maybell uses one action for Inspire Courage. Remember folks, +1 in attack and damage and fear effects. That applies to her too and I forgot about it, so it would be 21 to hit on TP and 7 damage for hit. That is her next two actions, casting Telekinetic Projectile at the nearest dog which is the red one. I do believe they are within 30 feet counting on the tiles.

Move to blue dog. Attack twice. I think that was a Stealth roll for initiative, so it's flat-footed, correct? And since Kek goes before Maybell, I am not adding in her +1 bonus. EDIT: I used a 1d4 for the shortsword damage because I am dumb. It's fine.

Chelia calls a few words in the elven arcane language to bring up her shield before charging in towards the door at the other side of the room to prevent people from getting out or in that way. Arriving at her guard post she swung her big sword at the goblin closest to her.

Rolling remaining intitiatives. (Accidentally rolled d2 for Khaine)

Looks like you truly surprised them.

Edit: I put Kek next to the wrong dog. Should be by the blue one.

Khaine - Human Monk 2

HP: 34/34 | AC: 20 | Speed: 25ft | Hero: 2/3 | Focus: 1/1

Perception: +5 | Fort: +8 | Ref: +10 | Will: +7

Statistics | Equipment | Abilities | Skills

Conditions :

Khaine moved just after Kek and Chelia. He decided to press the attack on the red hound, finish it off so the numbers would be on their side, not the goblins.
He dropped into his stance and let loose a powerful strike as he closed the gap. His fingers raked across the dogs flank, and then his clawed hand pulled back and tore at the creatures face.

Round 1 Summary

Maybell weaves magic into her song which continues playing of its own accord.

With a sudden dissonant chord on her viol and a swing of the bow, a chunk of hard mycelium from the floor slams into the nearest hound (red). 7 dmg

Before they can comprehend the soundtrack of their demise coming from the door, Kek moves up and critically strikes the hound (blue)

Forgot to add Maybell's bonus as well as sneak attack. So 2x(8+1+6)=30 damage. Kek slays that hound (blue).

With Maybell's sudden melody, Chelia springs into action, dashing past the fallen hound, cutting off one avenue of escape, and strikes the blue goblin.

She also forgot to add Maybell's buff. 6 dmg to blue.

Khaine springs in and lands two lethal blows on the hound, just as it's recovering from being struck by Maybell's mycelium projectile.

Khaine also forgot to add Maybell's bonuses.

16 dmg to the red hound, killing it

Weylin moves up and zaps two of the goblins, his electricity buzzing out a G sharp: red and yellow, dealing 4 and 8 dmg respectively

Two of the goblins spit their corrosive throat juices at Chelia and Kek, who manage to avoid the acidic goobers.

The four goblins close in on Chelia and Kek and start biting, scoring one bite apiece on them for 5 dmg each.

Weylin's Turn
  • 1 action: moves forward 15 until standing to Kek's right
  • 2 actions: "Zamma-bamma-wapow!" he casts electric arc at red and yellow (DC 18 basic reflex; 1d4+4+1 electric damage)
Goblins

Salivating, and with little sense of self preservation, the infected goblins rush to try to ingest the attackers.

Red
  • 1 action: moves up to Kek Khaine
  • 2 actions: spends a moment gathering a big loogie in the back of his throat, and spits out a nasty acidic gob at Kek Khaine
Green
  • 1 action: goes over to Chelia
  • 2 actions: spends a moment gathering a big loogie in the back of his throat, and spits out a nasty acidic gob at Chelia
Blue

"Om nom nom!"

  • 1 action: bites at Chelia
  • 1 action: bites at Chelia
  • 1 action: bites at Chelia
Yellow

"Om nom nom!"

  • 1 action: moves up to Kek Khaine
  • 1 action: bites at Kek Khaine
  • 1 action: bites at Kek Khaine

Assuming Chelia uses her reaction to shield block, which fully negates the one bite.

Edit: I confused Kek's and Khaine's placement. The two goblins attacked Khaine as per the image below, not Kek. The rolls vs Kek should say Khaine.

With the tune of courage running its course through her and her allies, Maybell steps a bit closer as the battle develops. Thankfully, they had scored quite a few good hits and even though they sick goblins kept trying to swarm and bite furiously at her allies they seemed to keep things under control. Spotting an enemy that is pretty healthy the halfling prepares another telekinetic projectile after stepping into range... letting the material spin a couple times, gathering extra strength before shooting it out!

Action 1: Stride two steps forward and one to the right to be behind Weylin but to his right, just past the door.

Two Actions to cast Telekinetic Projectile. It rolls high enough that maybe it crits! Specially since once again I forgot my own buffs, so it should have an extra point to hit and to damage. If crit, doubled, I believe!

With the inspire courage attack bonus to TP, then 27 just barely crits (they were off guard/flat footed last round). Did you target Weylin?!!

Telekinetic projectile should do 1d6+4+1 damage, or 2d6+8+2 on a crit. I'm confused by your damage roll. Could you please do a reroll for crit damage? And please specify your target @daltar

Perhaps you were heightening it? Your cantrips are heightened to the same level/rank as your maximum level/rank spells, which is currently 1, so TP doesn't do the extra 1d6 yet for you.

Ok, a multitude of mistakes on my part here!

First, the target is green goblin 2. I had it in mind and mid post forgot to specify. Second, yes, damage is definitely borked. I forgot it goes up by spell level/rank not character level! My past roll was wrong too. I definitely was heightening it improperly based on character level instead of spell level. Rerolling the damage on the post. Thank you for catching all that Blaeringr!
