"Ah.." she whispers slowly in the tone of someone who realizes they've just assumed something and being faced with the possibility they'd assumed wrongly. Her facial expression is backing up her tone without reservation. She gestures barely intones and has a look around, taking her time.. "While I'm doing this, someone with medical skill could perhaps determine how the extremely generous stiff popped his clogs... neck bites would tell us something.", she adds, again in a whisper.

Rand crouches next to the stiff and draws his dagger first for manipulation of the body and if necessary more invasive procedures "Well they did try to teach me how to heal the common cold, not that will help this fellow but it won't hurt him either." He first looks over the body without touching it except for the moving cloth which obscures the view.

It is quite difficult to ascertain what killed the woman as she has no skin as such, Rand does see some cuts into the ribs which suggests she was stabbed by a blade in that area. She was not looted which is odd, the damage in the room suggests multiple attackers/defenders.

Sighing Rand scratches his chin "Not that I'm an expert on shanking, but why would someone, several someones as wounds show, go through all that trouble and leave the loot? Rand follows Baran with his sword in the ready position only a second Aasimar, if he turned, would see a minute glow of his eyes as they comb through the darkness. "Stabs don't seem frenzied enough for mindless undead. No nicked bones, maybe we got this in reverse maybe she was attacking and got put down by the guard."

Heading upstairs the duo look into the rooms one by one, in the back bedroom a spirit floats through the wall. A young woman looked at the two warriors and said in a gentle voice "please find my baby, they took her and she will be all alone. She needs her mommy, please please......." she begged as she began to weep.

Nyll was caught off guard by the appearance of the spirit, but realizes that she doesn't appear to want to cause the group harm. Although hesitant to approach the spirit, Nyll does inquire. "This baby of yours.." she says, "What leads you to believe she is alive and well?"

As she prepares for the wrath of the spirit to lash out at such a comment, she firmly places herself behind Rand the meat shield. Nyll has the firm belief there is no need to locate a dead child. "And who's they?"

Tanith behind the leading warriors, comes around a corner, sees a ghost and backpedals immediately, wanting to have nothing to do with a powerful undead until she has absolutely no choice.

Aidan for her part was following closely with Rand, more out of not knowing were else to be. And in doing so was now looking at this poor departed soul. It hurt her to see a spirit like this but she also knew that caution was the needed thing now. Using her elbow to proud Rand.

"Brother. The spirit was do you sense from it, a foul evil apparition or just a poor wayward spirit?"

Slap that ghost with a good old fashion detect evil if you would my good man.

"They were ghouls, they killed her and took the body to eat it. Her spirit will be somewhere close by, I cannot leave the house but you could. If you can find just one bone and bring it here my Ezme's spirit will be able to find me" she said in a soft voice.

Mizzi entered the room and she too spoke in a soft voice "have you any idea in which direction they went, it might help if we knew is all". The spirit floated to the window and pointed out to the building across from them, she stared in that direction for a long moment.

Mizzi went back down the stairs and drew her weapon, she crossed the street to the other building and opened the door. Inside were a lot of bones, the ghouls must have lived here for a time or just used the room as their feeding room. Mizzi began to spread the bones out and if she saw one that could be a child's she put it in a separate pile, assuming that some of the others came to help they quickly had bout 20 child bones. Searching the rest of the room a small skull was found, Yuki gently carried it over to the ghost. Placing it at her feet the spirit called out to it "Ezme, it is Mommy sweetie", at first there was nothing, then a crying child's voice drifted in and simply said "Mommy". The scene looked incredible, a mother nestling her child with a beaming smile. The mother pointed up at the ceiling and said "thank you, cache" and then dissipated.

Nyll was pleased that the effort was actually quick and that the mother spirit was satisfied. At the mention of a cache, Nyll looked up to see if there was a secret panel or attic. Looking to Mizzi, "Good work, ya reunited the family so they can move on."
Nyll then says, "I'm gonna look for this cache thing, you all are welcome to search also, probably an attic or another floor."

"If we can't get to it from inside, then maybe from the outside." she adds. Nyll begins to search for the way up.

Rand turns and glances at Aiden giving a glimpse of the only remaining part of his Aasimar heritage for a second, his eyes seem like the full eclipse. Two rings of fire around the depthless void. He turns his gaze fast enough ""Brotherhood of Freedom" doesn't use alignment-detecting spells, bad for business."

He picks up small bones and takes them down placing them next to the body when the other comes out they find he dug out one grave and placed two bodies together like mother is hugging small bones. Before closing the grave he takes the Waterskin with actual water and pours his tin pot to the brim then makes a few well-rehearsed moves over it sanctifying it and pouring Holy Water over bodies, and murmuring something more for the dead and himself than onlookers. Then Pick up the shovel and close the grave before masking it with pieces of debris. When done he closes down a small portable shovel and hangs it back on his backpack. "There goes half of my spell slots."
