As you go about looking to upgrade your gear, Chiskisk contacts you. "You are going into danger. I have found a pair of others who I think that you will find to be of benefit in your upcoming excursion. Both of them are skilled, experienced adventurers. I would ask that you meet with them to decide if you would like to take them with you."

The address for an off-site Starfinder office is appended to the message along with a couple of dossiers.

 

Lavinia and Regnart, each of you get a call from Chiskisk of the Starfinder Society. You have worked with them in the past and know them as a competent field agent that has taken a desk job. Their offer is vague, giving only a brief overview of what has gone on before. Their message gives an address and holos of the agents you'll be meeting.

Lavina waits at the meeting spot, anxiously looking around. Part of her wonders if this might be a trap - but they'd used one of the official Starfinder Society code words, so it doesn't seem likely. Still, if someone is looking for her, they will easily find her - a 7-foot-tall humanoid bird is hard to miss.

"..." A man shrouded in a black cloak arrives at the meeting point. Hints of an armored space suit can be seen peeking out from underneath the cloak. He carries no visible guns or other weapons despite being so heavily armored. He looks around, familiarizing himself with the area as he approaches. He recognizes the bird woman from the message he received and strides toward her with purpose.

"Greetings. We're here for the same reason," He states rather than questions. He then looks about.

"Now, we just wait for them to show up," He does not sit or lean against anything, and instead stands upright as he waits. He takes out a datapad and goes over the sparse amount of info he was given for a moment. He keeps an eye out for the others he is supposed to meet.

All of you meet and, after sizing up one another, get to business. Chiskisk has put together a short briefing. It is one of the few times that you'll hear their actual voice. "I want to make sure that I have the details correct and, hopefully, provide Regnart and Lavinia with a short orientation. If the two of you have any questions, you'll need to direct them to the others. They are the ones who have provided me with this information." They give an overview of what happened over the last four books, ending with "... you discovered not only the existence and location of the Gate of Twelve Suns, but also, the hiding place of the Stellar Degenerator. More importantly, we aren't the only ones to gain this intelligence: the Cult of the Devourer is one step ahead of you. If there is any chance to stopping the cult, you must speed off to the coordinates you discovered in the vast. I urge you to finish gathering any necessary equipment and be off."

 

The upgrades to the Sunrise Maiden aren't quite finished when you decide to leave, but all that's left is some minor work that can be done while in transit.

"..." he listens attentively throughout the debriefing. At some point, he crosses his arms in front of him and lets his cloak fall over his arms to cover himself.

"That's quite a lot to take in, but I've got the gist of it," He then shrugs.

"I have all the gear I need, as well. If there's nothing else to discuss, then I'll report to the ship and begin making myself comfortable," he then goes on to say. He travels quite light, with most of his gear in a single bag. He relies on his own abilities rather than weapons, so he doesn't have much in the way of that. His armor is most important piece of gear. Everything else is just for support, utility, and comfort.
