Val piped up at this point, leaving the android beside her to look on and pause the act of pulling items out of their waterproof bags, at least until the lot of you decide where you want to go, "But what if there's something important over there?…"

 

The girl stops short of suggesting that she needs to go that way to sate her mind.

Black Hill Caves — Entry Cavern

spacer.pngClearly oblivious to such concepts as taking bets, or as to why the half-elf had such an aversion about getting back in the water, besides the obvious matter of course that there seems to be some kind of feeling of unwell associated with it, the android took in the information from behind the group silently.

 

Then, deciding that she did not like the feeling of her wet clothes clinging to her body, Violet stripped off everything she could, and carrying only her dagger in one hand, she weaved forward between the others slipped back into the water, her nude form only briefly visible to those paying attention before she tread around the corner following the underground waterway.

"Euh... Violet," Vri started, but the android had already gone. She turned to the others.

"I think a few more conversations with her are in order, but first I think we best go after her now." 

With a sigh she moved after Violet, trying to stay above the water as much as possible and looking out for other trouble.

Then she went back in herself and followed the android through the chilly, polluted waters.

Black Hill Caves — Shallow Creek

spacer.pngAs Vri and T'Sarra follow the android around the bend, they see that a shallow creek runs through the middle of this cavern here, while to the south a stony bank rises up from the water. Thick carpets of green and gray mold and fungus grow on the bank, particularly around a trio of three-foot-high, foul-smelling mounds.

Forward of that small stretch of shore, the waterway seemingly joins together from the left and the right.

"Any idea what those are," Vri asked the other two, "it looks just like stinking mounds of mold." 

She kept her distance, weapon ready just in case.

"I guess you owe Vri and I both a beer, Barhuce," T'Sarra smirked obviously misremembering the bet badly, as they saw there was something here before they hit the beach where they'd already fought the blindheim.

Moving close, she nodded at Vri's comment, frowning in distaste, Stinking mounds of mold kind of sums it up from where I'm looking."

Then she moved to shore, and pulled her long spear out.

"Except how bad would it be if it turned out Khonnir was curled up underneath one of them? This branch is far enough off the beaten path we almost missed it. "

She kept her distance from the mold as best she could on the cramped beach, but wasn't quite ready to start searching the festering mounds by poking them with her weapon. What if Khonnir really WAS in one of them??

No sooner than as T'Sarra stepped foot on the beach, Vri notices a couple of the mounds come to life. The android too, cocking her head to one side, curiously observed the green mold for a moment, before calling out, "Horned and tailed one! Look out!"

"Brigh give me strength" Barhuce mutters as he catches sight of Vi disappearing around the corner. As the others follow, he takes a second to get his head on straight before following. "I think you mean you owe me a beer" he says as he rounds the corner and takes in the sight.

Stepping up to the shore, Vri thrusts her rapier forward, but quickly found that she was on slightly uncertain footing with the slippery fungus-lined stone under her boot, causing the rapier's tip to pierce only thin air an inch or so from the side of the nearest mound of green and gray mold.

 

Violet wades upstream in the watter just a little bit more, trying to find herself a piece of the stony outcropping where she could find purchase. Similarly she tries to slash at the mound of wobbly green, but is met with little success as she finds herself suddenly doubling over a little from some feeling of malaise she does not understand.

 

Flooded by visions, T'Sarra is powerless to act and could only watch as the green mounds converge upon her, each surging to a frenzied movement and slamming her with some decaying patch or vine. Two of them miss the tiefling completely, but one manages to slap her on the right thigh, just enough to give her pause.
