Moldy fight

Too close to swing her spear, T'Sarra dropped it on the beach, as far as she could from the water. Then started swinging at the disgusting mold with claws, worrying about cleaning them off later.

"I almost hope Khonnir is under one of the piles of goo after this! Not really, Val! But damn if these aren't disgusting!"

Having had her crossbow in hand, Rain sighs and wades back into the water, following the group around the corner. Getting a hold of the situation for herself as she tries her best to fight down the nauseousness, she mumbles some strange words and places her hand on Barhuce's shoulder, imploring the spirits to guide him, "ህየሀካሃኡሣኪ"

 

Vri's rapier finally finds purchase, driving through a particularly mushroomey part of the pile. Quietly, the mound of green reels back in reaction to the sharp metal.

 

Barhuce equally makes contact with his mace, managing to strike the thing at the tip of one of its vine-like appendages.

 

Already gagging from her most recent exposure to the water, Val grunts miserably as she follows the others back into the water, doing her best to fend off the malaise and the urge to vomit. Seeing the whole group more or less huddling around one thing, she grumbles something incoherently under her breath before moving further up the stream, in the process drawing the attention of one of the mounds of mold and goo, causing a section of it to lurch haplessly at the passing human.

 

Practically folding over at the stomach already, the android feebly extended her arm again, woefully missing the mass of fungus and vegetation by at least half a foot.

 

T'Sarra on the other hand, having ditched her spear and determined to get dirty, swipes the mound with her claws, inadvertently getting herself wrists deep in the moss and goop as she tears a chunk out of the thing, watching as the remainder slump to the cavern floor, motionless.

 

The other two blobs of rot and goo seem not at all to mind, one of them moving right in over top of the other and tossing a portion of its weight at Vri, almost taking her out at the left calf. The other makes a move on T'Sarra again, but isn't able to connect.

T'Sarra shivered at the feeling of the green mold under her fingernails but couldn't let it get to her. She felt pulled in two directions between the slimes, but started trying to help Vri finish the one she'd started then with her other hand get the.. other one

"Anybody know anybody in Torch that does manicures?"

Stuck behind Barhuce and Vri, Rain reluctantly takes aim at one of the free mounds and fires, but her bolt hits the shore a little too low, and the wooden shaft snaps in two as it smashes into the rock.

 

Vri's rapier strikes true again, slicing off some crusty, spore covered chunks this time.

 

Barhuce's mace comes up short this time, smashing a patch of deep green fungus that doesn't look like it's any more alive than the surface of the rock it's inhabiting.

 

Caught with her pistol still in the waterproof bag on the other shore, Val groans and tries to imitate Vri with her own rapier, though a last second urge to hurl threw off her aim.

 

Like the human, Violet also steps her bare body out of the water, trying her best to swipe at the nearest growth again, though rather than doing any proper damage, she only manages to shave off a couple of little mushrooms.

 

Digging deep, T'Sarra tears at the same gob of overgrown mucky muck, and rips it a couple new fist holes, sending it down into the same mossy, half-rotten death as the last one whose existence she had ended.

 

Seemingly determined to consume the tiefling, the last remaining pile lurches forward, slamming its slimy goop against her left thigh. For a moment, T'Sarra feels as though there's something sharp and brittle underneath that guck. She could swear she heard a grinding noise as she was hit.

"Uhh, sure. Maybe? Just what exactly are you going to make and suggest I dip my nails into?"

Hauling herself out of the water onto the mossy shore, Rain leans against the cave wall and quietly dry ralphs for a moment as she relies on the others to finish the job. Last second she mutters something and touches T'Sarra on the back of her shoulder, bestowing the guidance of spirits upon the oracle. "ህየሀካሃኡሣኪ"

 

Vri's rapier strikes true once more, piercing the blob of green and brown in its centre while Barhuce once again misses his mark.

 

Determined to not be outdone, Val also manages to slice a little shaving off the creature, though probably not enough to do it any real harm.

 

Violet finally musters up a little bit of strength, driving her dagger up in a diagonal motion to cut off a mushroom or three, before T'Sarra plunges both of her hands in claws first, getting about wrist deep as the last of the vegetation mounds collapses into some motionless state.

T'Sarra looked at Barhuce as she finished off the last one with Vri and Vi and the others.

"Uhh, OK, I don't want anything that's going to take my nails off! Or my fingers

She looked down at her leg and frowned.

"That last one tagged me on the leg, it's not too bad though. I can use the wand after we look around. But I felt something sharp and brittle when it hit and felt like a grinding"

Having already used those same nails and been buried up to her wrists in muck, she figured no harm continuing. So she started pulling slime apart, looking for what might be inside. Then when done went to rinse her hands off up to her elbows in the nasty water that was still better than green slime.
