Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=18 / HP= 8/13 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=6, Reflex=2, Will = 7  ________________________________________________________________________

Wilwick frowns when even more zombies appear on the scene as the diminutive holy man knows full well that he only empowered to destroy undead with his turning powers one more time until sunrise tomorrow.

Nonetheless, the hoard was a clear threat to the entire party and their mission, plus the foul undead were assembled in a line making the use of the divine power logical and reasonable under the circumstances.

Whispering to his colleagues, "This will be the last time I can destroy undead until sunrise, but I'm going to unleash the holy power now if no one speaks up the contrary."

Assuming no one in the group attempts to stop him, then Father Bramblemane again proclaims, "In the name of all that is holy, I release thee unto the light," causing additional flames to erupt from the bodies of the zombies as the creatures continue to self-combust when they are again bombarded with the second wave of divine energy.

After channeling the raw power of the gods through his tiny body, Wilwick slightly shudders before he slowly regains his composure and draws his sling and a tiny river stone from a hidden pocket inside of his cloak as the small Priest prepares to join into the fray with his mundane skills from the second rank of the formation.

Mechanics

Destroy Undead

VARIANT TURNING RULES:  DESTRUCTION OF THE UNDEAD  (Complete Divine p. 87)

Instead of making undead run and cower, expending one of the cleric's daily turn attempts will deal positive energy damage to all undead within 30 feet of the cleric.

Turning undead is a standard action that deals 1d6 damage/cleric level to all undead within 30' of the cleric .  The affected undead get a Will save (DC 10 + cleric level + Charisma modifier) for half-damage.

Undead with turn resistance may subtract that number from the damage that they take from each turn attempt.  For example, a vampire with turn resistance 4 takes 4 fewer hit points of damage each time he takes turning damage.

When using this ability against incorporeal creatures, you do not have to roll a 50% miss chance; turning hits automatically.

Gwen slashes down one of the zombies, which collapses and rapidly disintegrates into dust. Wilwick invokes the wrath of he gods against the zombies again, which decay further though none of them is destroyed. The zombies swing their axes again. One of them chops Camlann for 5 damage. Another hits Gwen dealing 5 Damage.

Camlann Cobb

"Well struck, Gwen!" Camlann cheers the paladin as she cuts down one of the zombies. He has no time to say more as his opponent drives the breath from his body from with a solid blow to the chest. It's a small consolation that both the zombie he is fighting and the one battling Gwen are struck with acidic energy for their efforts.

Gritting his teeth, Camlann strikes back...

OOC: Camlann has his Energy Shield aura up. The zombies will take 2 points of acid damage if they hit him or any ally within 30 feet.

@Chaz Hoosier It wasn't noted in the summary, but both the zombies in the front line took 2 points acid damage when they hit Gwen and Camlann.

It seems that no matter how many zombies are cut down, more take their place! Two more zombies swing at Camlann and Gwen, though both miss!

Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=18 / HP= 8/13 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=6, Reflex=2, Will = 7  ________________________________________________________________________

Looking over the party members in an effort to determine their relative health, Father Bramblemane says a silent prayer to the gods that, so far, no one has been hurt badly.

As such, Wilwick pauses to see what, if anything, the zombies do before he decides upon his course of action, whether it be an attack, healing prayers or divine spells or something else entirely.

"Fable" the Beguiler

In the relative hub-bub of blows and boots being exchanged, Fable takes a moment to retrieve a flask of alchemical fire from her bag. She carefully gauges how best to throw it...

Stop complaining, she fires back at Gwen, not seeming to care for the warriors personal safety. It's good target practice. Doesn't take a god to know I need it, she adds silently to herself and lines up another shot.

Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=18, Touch=12, FF=18 / HP= 8/13 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=6, Reflex=2, Will = 7  ________________________________________________________________________

After the Zombies up front both swing and miss, Father Bramblemane jumps into action.

Unfortunately, a sling shot would be very difficult to complete in light of the Halfling's height and the fact that Wilwick is in the second ranks of the party. Thus, he would have also fire into active combat, which is a skill he has yet to master.

Furthermore, the diminutive padre's spells and prayers have either been used for the day or are simply ineffective or insufficient to utilize against undead.

Slightly frustrated by his lack of options, Wilwick stows his sling and draws a crooked willow wand in preparation to bolster the health of the front ranks in the coming moments.

Camlann easily parries the zombie's clumsy blow. In response, he pushes his weapon against the creature and attempts a draw cut with the axe blade.
