   Oxford University Monster Hunting Society

   For nearly 1000 years, along the banks of the twisting River Isis, the Scholars and Masters of Oxford have turned their minds and hands to the pursuit of knowledge, and of power: not all of it natural or even seelie. The scores of ancient colleges and libraries, built and rebuilt over centuries, stand guard over forgotten secrets, while lost tomes of ancient lore hide within the labyrinthine subterranean stacks.

   To this day, strange customs and historic privileges are observed with careful precision, their fearful true meanings now only half-guessed even by the very wise. Preternatural echoes of forbidden experiments and esoteric rituals yet vibrate across the Headington limestone of the city. Secret societies of all kinds gather at all hours, some for merriment, some for mischief, and some for malice.

   As you might imagine, stuff can get weird around here.

   But for every threat there is a hero, and there are many in the old city who still make it their business to hold back and curtail the accumulated evil of the centuries: to keep safe the University for those Masters and Scholars who would still seek to use its power and learning for the good of mankind. 

   One such secret order of heroes is the Oxford University Monster Hunting Society.

   Surviving the Black Tide (SWADE)

   

   In the quaint coastal town of Deltaville, nestled along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia, players find themselves thrust into a harrowing struggle for survival as the "Zombie Flu" pandemic wreaks havoc on humanity. Cut off from the outside world, this tight-knit community must band together to withstand the relentless onslaught of the infected.

   As survivors, players must navigate the narrow streets and picturesque waterfront of Deltaville, once a peaceful haven now overrun by the undead. With resources dwindling and danger lurking around every corner, they must scavenge for supplies, fortify their makeshift shelters, and fend off attacks from both the infected and rival survivor groups vying for control.

   Amidst the serene beauty of the bay, players must confront the grim reality of their new existence, forging alliances, making difficult choices, and confronting their deepest fears as they fight to stay alive in a world plunged into darkness. In Deltaville, survival is not just a goal but a daily struggle against overwhelming odds.

   The game will be a mixture of sandbox style with some scripted scenarios. Characters can have shared backgrounds, or start out as strangers, and can even be visitors to the town prior to the apocalypse starting.
    

   The first chapter will start on day 1 of the pandemic, the characters will not have prior knowledge.

   Welcome friends to Rultmoork. I would like to lay out my expectations up front.

   1. Expect your actions to have consequences. Don't be stupid. Play smart. If I give you lots of hints that opening the box will unleash fiery death. Don't open the box and expect to live. Rultmoork is an incredibly challenging adventure designed for the veteran player. It will take all your wits to survive.
   2. I'm a storyteller, the rule of cool applies. If it's cool, cinematic and epic, screw the rules- I'll probably allow it. If this grates against your rules lawyer soul...we are not meant to play together. I also allow a lot of Kobold Press 3rd party material to give my players more options than what is allotted by the base 5e system.
   3. Unless I tell you otherwise... assume you can play with all the beautiful scenery to help craft the story. I expect each of you create interesting scenes, don't just walk into a room, roll the dice, and ask what you found. Tell me what you are saying, and doing, and what your ultimate goal is. If I need a dice roll, I will ask for one.

    The Crystal Heroes of Terat

    Greenbrook. A small, unassuming hamlet of about two thousand inhabitants on the outskirts of the Forest of Harpa, on the Lomorre side. Technically under the aegis of Baron Gerente, and in turn Count Ernaut, and finally Duchess Adeliz of Lomorre. Like many other villages, it has a Crystal Pool on its outskirts, secured by little more than a simple fence, the respect the people of Terat have for the Crystal Knights dissuading any casual would-be vandals. (Well, that and the fact that it's functionally impossible to damage or deface a Crystal Pool anyway).

    Even in such a small village, though, the lure of the Knights is strong. Thus, on the Winter Solstice of 563 F.B., a small number of teenagers made the journey to the nearby town of Rosefield, and from there took the train to Lomorre to begin their training at Fort Naoth.

    Now, they return, in the company of a Royal Archivist, to undergo their Blessing Ceremony and from there begin their First Trial, Terat their metaphorical oyster to find fame and fortune in as Blessed Knights of the Kingdom.

    Even they, however, would have no idea just how important they would become to Terat's future...

    The Next Hellmouth

    Rules: Using the UniSystem Buffy The Vampire Slayer RPG. Material from all books, including Angel RPG, are fine.

    We're picking up from the game I started on the old MW site just before the switch to this new MW.

    The Game will be set after season 7, so anyone who can be a Slayer, Is a Slayer. (Powers start kicking in around age 9, and basic slayer stuff "gets real" around 14).
    
    Game will be set in the town of Harborton, a large town in a predominantly rural area, which has the only high school within 60 miles. Lots of kids have to spend hours on the bus every day to get to and from high school. Other towns in the area have their own grade-schools (even if it's a one-room school house) and Jr High.
    There are lots of small, local businesses, a book shop, several old vacation homes, a large number of Bed and Breakfasts, and, unknown to most, a Hellmouth! No one seems to notice the high turn-over of residents and tourists. It's like most adults are just oblivious.
    And really, it's only been since that town in central California disappeared into a sink-hole that the Vamps and others started really showing up here.
    
    Characters: Build the type of character you want to play. BtVS games are based on something called the Unisystem. (I'll post details about character stats soon.) If you want to play a Watcher, Slayer, Werewolf, Psychopath with delusions of "Oh my gosh, there's monsters!", Jr Witch, Initiative Soldier, high school jock, hick farmer full of country wisdom, computer hacker, city family that just inherited uncle Jethro's country home, Danger-Prone Daphne, or weird talking animal, that's fine. Rules are pretty open. (For all I know, you're all going to want to play vamps that slowly eat the town).

    What was once the great realm of Arnor has fallen into ruins. The Witch-king of Angmar and other servants of the Enemy have shattered much that was beautiful and good in western Middle-earth, and the Free Peoples who survived have limped on ever since. The Dúnedain Rangers of the North guard their ancient lands from the Shadow, the Men of Bree hold out in their little pocket of civilization, and the Shire remains an untouched paradise of life, love, and laughter. To the east, Imladris remains hidden and well-defended by their ancient protectors, but even now, the Elves who dwell there begin to turn their gaze to the Grey Havens.     His guilt at abandoning you to your deaths lingered. Knowing your fate, an eternity of torture and abuse, he resolved to do something about it. He could not simply resurrect you, not without having redeemed your souls, but he could animate your remains, bind your souls to them, and give you the opportunity to redeem yourselves. By asynchronous I mean that there is no specific expectation that the PCs will be a cabal or working together. Each character will be experiencing their own story that may or may not cross paths with any or all of the other PCs. New York is a city that is constantly in motion, and this game will be as well. There are likely going to be events that all of the PCs will need to react too, but they will not necessarily be directly involved in the specific actions around that event.
    
    Some characters will be mundane and just being Awoken to the truth of the world. Some may be young mages aware of their power, and looking to establish a foothold. Some may even be established powerhouses or significant figures within the various orders within the city. Each will be pursuing their own Path to Truth.

    Game Parameters

    • Setting: New York City, circa 2022
    • Posting Rate: Minimum of 2 per week for shared/merged threads, and posting rate to be determined by each character for the thread(s) they are involved with

    This is a genre mashup of Wierd West, Dieselpunk and Aetherpunk. It takes place in a fantasy world of my own creation. This is not Tolkien fantasy in the least. No elves, dwarves, etc.

    The Final Voyage of Drængr Thar

    

    The adventure takes place in a freezing, lonely inlet many miles north of the raiders home territory. A group of brave reavers are sent to the inlet to find Drængr Thar, a famed raider whose boat was stranded while returning from a raiding voyage. 

     

    Background

    Drængr Thar was a compulsive raider. Every season he set out to raid the towns and churches of the nearby lands, and every season he came back loaded with gold, silver and valuable captives. To raid with Drængr Thar was considered a great honor, and many young warriors fought for his attention to gain a place in his fleet of longboats.

    A month ago, Drængr Thar set out on another one of his great voyages. However, upon his return home, his ship was beset by a wrathful storm. The storm’s fury was so great, it splintered his longboat’s mast and drowned several of the crew.

    Pushed far off course, Drængr and the survivors finally found shelter in a northern inlet, dozens of miles away from the nearest friendly settlement. Badly wounded, Drængr feared that his begotten treasures would not make it home to his family, so he sent two hearty men running down the coast to find aid. 

     

    This is an adventure written by J.C. Connors from the One Shot Adventures website. If you have played or read this adventure, please do not apply. I would like players without prior knowledge of the adventure.

    I plan to run this adventure at some upcoming local cons (St. Louis Area) and possibly at GenCon 2024 and want to get an idea of how some PCs might play it. I am also planning on running it at some FLGS as I have never run a convention game before and typically play with the same people in my home group, so I want to see how other, non-familiar, players work and how I might work with them. So if we have played a lot of games together, I might look for others first.

    I would like up to 5 players. Since we will be using pre-generated 3rd level characters, there will not be a character application process. There will be something of an application process, as I will talk with the interested players to get an idea of who I will take. It won't be a first-come, first-serve type of situation, though those that are early in the process will definitely have my attention quicker and longer.
