Yorp the Confused Kobold

Yorp is a bit confused. These longlegs had pressed him into service to carry torches they needed for their weak eyes. And now they wanted him to hang back? Fine. The kobold unslings his pack again, strapping the lantern to the side, and prepares his little crossbow, drawing the string with a growl of effort and setting a bolt in place.

In following the others, he hangs off to the side, in the shadows. Better to be in a position to take advantage of opportunity, than be trampled by some longleg brute...

spacer.pngThorkell could do nothing about traps, but there was another way he might make himself useful, he thought.

Turning to Aurora, his fellow warrior, he said:

"Since I will be one of the torch-bearers, you can use my shield. Here." he continued, handing it to her. "I have no need for it now; and we must look after one another."

OOC

@Niven81 feel free to take the shield for Aurora, if you want!

Stoyan carefully checks the room for any stonework that's unsafe or out of the ordinary. The walls and floor are sound, and the ceiling looks like it is strong enough even though the upper stories of the structure are visibly ruined from the outside.

Golan confirms his previous diagnosis of no traps--save the aforementioned bed--and mercifullyFor the sake of the plot, at least 😀 There's not any point in springing this trap again. it does not claim any new victims as the group advances into the slightly larger space of the interior bedroom.

Seeing the group head off into one of the bedrooms Golan says "Thought you wanted to avoid the bedrooms?" He says calling out from the doorway of the bedroom.

Being at the rear of the pack, he briefly moves North to the door in the central room, making some observations of it,returning back to the doorway of the bedroom.

f_hum_fighter.png.46ffd441cd9da9ff09443b3174ccc185.pngSince the beds are said to be traps and there doesn't appear to be anything else in the room, Vanya takes a position at the north door of the central hallway. She does not open the door but she's ready if anything comes through it.

Yorp the Kobold

Quietly creeping on kobold feet, Yorp makes his way to the southwest corner of the room, ducking into the shadows and listening at that door. Is it likely anything is in there? No. But it gives him something to do while all the longlegs lumber around, and it means he's both out of the way and near an exit if something awful stirs from the stairs...

Vanya takes a protective position while Golan skulks around the north door. The others organize themselves in the west bedroom, the torch there casting dim light into the passageway to the northwest that was previously indicated as a potential stairway down.

Exploration clock: TURN 3 (torches: 8/10)

Location: Most of the party is in ROOM 25 (West bedroom); Golan and Vanya remain in ROOM 23 (Central hall).

Yorp the Kobold

"Kssst! Firehair!" the kobold whisper-yells across the room at Golan lurking in the doorway. "That door, trouble. Monster. We leave that door, get fools to open it if they are trouble. Leave alone unless you want a fight!"

Golan says ""Um i'm not keen to find out, well? not yet at least until we have no choice""

""Let's regroup with the other's ,and just watch our backs! in case that theory eventuates...""

At that ,he heads west into the western bedroom, wondering what the rest of the guys are doing?

Ohthere looks at the others shuffling around. Not needed as a scout at the moment he sheaths his sword, but keeps his axe handy for a quick throw. Having never explored an underground ruin he watches and takes in what is going well and what isn't.

spacer.pngThorkell stood by the locked door as if one mesmerized. Long had he dreamt of great deeds, and of testing his mettle. Part of him wished to cast aside all this stealth and subterfuge that the party seemed to favor, and face the danger head on. After all, would it not prove more prudent if they confronted this beast, whatever it was, on their own terms, instead of leaving it be? What if it ambushed them from behind? Certainly the kobold could not be trusted...

...but he suppressed such urges, as best he could, sensing that it was against the will of the ones who had already delved in this castle. Instead, he readied sword and torch, and moved to the forefront, and whispered to the others:

"I will take the forefront. Shall we continue onwards?"

OOC

Thorkell's in favor of moving onwards, either towards room 22 or 29. He is happy to take the lead as he feels like he ought to prove himself.
