Day 5   5:20 am

Returning to the basement laboratory, the group finds themselves standing in front of a bronze statue with six weird glass domes on its back. Upon closer inspection the glass domes are actual glass canisters filled with a fluid. Three of these glass canisters contains a human sized brain.

Dom looked at the glass canisters with a frown.

"I think it would be best if we took this down carefully, removed them and perhaps buried them together outside? I don't know which gods they might have prayed to, but Pharasma will take them now."

Dom searched for a box that might be big enough to hold the brains and a sheet to cover it once they are inside. He would say some of the prayers he had heard priests say over the fallen to help them on their way to the boneyard and entreats Pharasma to judge them with compassion.

Paim was more a 'return them to nature' type of person, but she could agree with Dom on a burial. That was also back to nature in a way.

"Take them with the canisters for now," she suggested, "we can open them outside."

Someone else would have to take the canisters down though, as she was too short to reach. She would help carry them outside if needed and was willing to dig the holes needed to bury them.

Day 5   5:40 am

Between the brain, fluid, and container; each canister weighs ten to twelve pounds. It takes a few minutes to remove the three canisters from the statue and lower them to the ground. However, you notice that brains still seem to be alive after removing the canisters from the statue. They will need to be removed from the canisters, or the canisters will need to be drained of fluid to end the lives of the brains.

While canisters seem stronger than the usually glass object, Dom or Hoog are more than capable of smashing them open. Lugging them up the stairs and out the door isn't very challenging. It takes a few more minutes to get them outside.

Does someone own a shovel, a pick or useful tool for digging? Other items can be used but it will just take more time.

Ginni cannot get enough time to read the books she wants to, sitting in the library she thinks about what it would be like to own a library and to have read every book within it. Walking then to the statue and wincing as the brains were removed, Ginni bowed her head respectfully and whispered a prayer to Nethys for their safe passing.

Hoog has a crowbar to break up ground, and can use his shield to scoop/shovel...maybe?

"Here, let me dig the hole," Paim said. She called upon her connection to the wild and transformed into a bear. With her big claws, she could easily dig a hole large enough for the brains. With the hole done, she transformed back in her gnome self.

"There you go, one hole. We'll have to wait a bit after the burial so I can do this again down below should there be a need."

Day 5  6:00 am

Paim rips and shreds the ground to create a hole for the three brains. The brains are removed from the glass jars, and are buried after a brief ceremony. The party's bear pushes and claws the dirt back into place.

One task is complete. Onto the 3rd floor to find the voidless mirror?...

Dom looked at the graves and gave a sad smile.

"This place has seen so much horror, but this small gesture will free those poor victims. Now let us go and find the mirror."

Dom seemed renewed a little. The horror had been wearing on him, but this small funeral had given him hope that they could free this place of evil at last. Once the others were ready, he led the way to the third floor.

Day 5  6:30 am

The party heads to the third floor... After battling some corrupted nosoi, the group searches this floor. They found a small armory (D4) containing some old longbows and crossbows . Another small room (D3) appears to be a small taxidermy workshop. A narrow room (d2) at south end of building contains old textbooks, slates, and broken displays. This room would have been used as the tutoring room for both children.

Finally the group finds itself in a small museum. An elegant but dusty flight of spiral stairs ascends in the middle of this room. Paintings, display cases, hunting trophies, and taxidermic birds decorate this room, covering every available bit of space between the grimy windows— two of which to the east appear broken in a few places, as if by thrown rocks. Low, round display tables with sculptures atop them dot the chamber. The sculptures and paintings all seem damaged in one way or another.

The stairs will lead up to the observatory, and the voidless mirror...

Day 5  6:32 am

The stairs lead into this octagonal observatory, although the room appears to have been torn apart long ago from a violent search or perhaps a long, drawn-out
fight.

A desk and chair in the northern part of the room seem to have escaped this violence, as did a five-foot-tall, one-foot-wide mirror of dark glass in a frame made of wood, but other pieces of furniture, shelves, and books lie scattered through the rest of the room. A pile of rubble near the south walls appears to be the shattered remains of what might have once been an observation platform. At the room’s eastern and western sides, gears and chains look like they once allowed for the retraction of the roof above, but the mechanisms and chains to the east lie in rubble.

The group barely enters the room when large blueish crab like creature rushes out of its hiding place. Ectoplasmic tendrils whip out of 7 openings out of its body. The tendrils slash across the members of the party. Then the tendrils disappear and purple translucent brains appear in these openings. Suddenly the creatures eat a few of the brains, and it seems stronger

The site won't let me edit the post.

Everyone needs to basic DC25 Will Save (mental, necromancy, occult) or take 31 pts of mental damage. Anyone that crit fails cannot act this round. Then the party can act.
