Coming into the supply room, he continues toward the sound of ruckus, would that our erstwhile employer could keep from getting herself endangered for but a single week. 'I can't have any ne'erdowells interfering with my precious contacts' he silently mocks, his inner voice taking on a twisted version of Amira's earlier caution about entering the city proper, 'but I'm happy to go off and get accosted by every goblin, orc, and demon in the city without a second thought.' "Big mistake, little one," he sighs, easily taking the goblin's extended forearm in his hands. He turns gracefully, as if dancing with his foe, drawing the goblin's arm up, around, and down in a smooth arc, twisting it into an excruciating arm lock that forces him to continue his forward move slightly, bending at the waist as if bowing in front of the monk as he struggles to resist. "And the most painful one you'll ever make," he adds. The large goblin had seen him first and was charging at him. Arwi cursed sharply and took a step back as he drew his falchion and long knife. He had just enough time to being his weapons up to parry the gob's strike. OOC Fast draw falchion. Draw long knife. Arwi steps back and to the right to square up with the gob to prepare for the fight. Edit: Parry and retreat. 11+1. Not sure how the shield spell figures in with this. Well over seven feet tall, and with rippling muscles, if her size alone doesn't invite comparison to a mountain top, her rock gray skin and snowy white hair certainly does. She seems alarmingly underdressed for the weather, wearing only a short skirt and a halter top, the latter of which is beneath a bizarre set of armor made of mail that only seems to cover her assets. She already has a shield at the ready, and strapped to her back is a spear. She raps her fist loudly on her wooden shield in an attempt to gain everyone's attention. "Alright everyone! Break it up, break it up! We're not all savages, are we? There's no reason to be killing each other. I'm sure if we all just calmed down and talked it out, we could find a way to resolve this that doesn't leave a pile of corpses in this nice street. Hmm? How about it?" Snowbelle had learned from a young age that people usually paid attention to nymphs. She wasn't sure what had caused this fight or whose side she should take (if she should even take a side), so trying to stop the fight seemed the logical thing to do. It makes no attempt to fight back or escape. Arwi feels himself enveloped in protective magic just as the feral Hobgoblin steps up and slices down at him with its huge, curved blade. Rindo watches as the Goblin's eyes go wide. The short, green being turns and leans down in the dirt, looking for the ring directly behind the nervous horse tied to the back of the wagon. The two Goblins on the wagon leap off the side as Amira crumples to the wooden seat. Hearing a voice call for them to stop fighting, they rush across the yard to find the speaker, only to skid to a stop once they lay eyes on the tall and mesmerizingly beautiful Snowbelle. One of them manages to squeak out, "We come to take the goods, they try to stop us, we smash 'em," while the other just stands there with its mouth hanging open muttering, "ooooh." Both of their morningstars hang loosely in their hands, the spiked metal ends trailing in the dirt. Nessia smiles as she feels her magic weave around Arwi, giving him some extra level of protection from the incoming attack. She hears Kelarith running up behind her. Kelarith, his two pistol crossbows in hand, comes rushing up to the open door only to find Nessia standing right in the doorway. OOC Arwi may take a hit from the big goblinoid. @Caffeine11 you'll need to roll a defense, at +2 from the Shield Spell. After we process Arwi's defense, we will move on to round 5 and everyone will be able to get involved. Still Round 4 Arwi - Step and Ready. Needs to defend. Gets +2 due to Shield 2 spell. Finn - Attack Goblin 4. Kelarith - Move. Will join the fight in round 5. Nessia - Concentrate. Cast Shield 2 on Arwi for 4FP Rindo - Waiting for current round action. She could draw her spear and join in at this point - and it didn't seem like a terrible idea, but on the other hand those two little twerps looked like they're already ready to eat out of her hand, and it probably wouldn't be hard to get them to leave without risking violence. Confidently, she strides up to the closest goblin and bends down so that she's closer to his face, giving him a cheerful smile. As she does so, she puts a hand on his shoulder and squeezes - probably more firmly than necessary. "Well, well," she replies in her melodic fairy accent. "That doesn't seem to be working out too well for you now, does it? You're up against magic and mercenaries twice your height, and things could turn sour for you just like that, no?" Removing her hand from the goblin's shoulder, she snaps her fingers for emphasis. "But I tell you what, you two run along now, and I'll cover for you, make sure you don't get followed. Good deal no? You escape with your lives, pillage again another day." She rises up to her full height and waves the goblin away. "Don't think about it too much, just take your little friend and run along now, yes?" " Not bad but you got to do bettah, big boy.", he taunted. Keeping his weapons up, Arwi started to move to his right and studied his foe. He waited for just the right opening. The hobgoblin attacked again, enraged by the taunting. He chopped down with his blade but Arwi again parried the attack. OOC: Examine maneuver to study the hob while he steps to the right. Giant step to move an extra hex -1 FP. Arwi will be two hexes NE against the wall and facing the hob. It growls and gashes its teeth loudly. Finn works on retrieving his dropped weapon from the ground while the newly released Goblin looks toward its downed companion laying amidst the crates. The two Goblins in front of Snowbelle nearly fall backward as they crane their oversized heads back to look up at her. One of them stammers unintelligibly while the other one swallows hard with a very audible "gulp." When Rindo steps up and smacks Amira's horse, the creature seems to snap out of a daze. It snorts loudly and jerks is head toward Rindo, but the rope tying it to the wagon prevents it from reaching him, so instead it does a little hop and kicks out with its rear legs, catching the treasure-seeking Goblin behind it full-on, sending it flying several yards into a stack of barrels, where it lands with a sickening crash before crumpling to the dirt.
