Starhawk Posted April 12 Author Clone Share Posted April 12 The game turns to community building. I will leave this in the capable hands of Dhemon and Rakle. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls
Terran Posted April 14 Clone Share Posted April 14 Quote Note: The mound is a 100 metres or so from the back of the village. Sorry, I thought it was much further away since we did not see the mound until folks got up on the roof of the manor house and could see for a much longer distance. It's basically a 12 - 13 second sprint away. I should have consulted the map; my fault. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls
Starhawk Posted April 14 Author Clone Share Posted April 14 There is no map that includes it. Now that you are settling in I'll work on a map. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls

Penchant Posted April 14 Clone Share Posted April 14 (edited) It was earlier brought up that we could retcon spending more of our gold and a lot of talk was made about colony seeding materials. Is that going to be a factor or should we just focus on adventuring materials? If we do need colony materials, a small herd of sheep would be a good choice since they produce a variety of goods (meat, milk, wool, etc). Flax and hemp is good for textiles. Po-ta-toes. Carrots. Beans. Etc. Edited April 14 by Penchant (see edit history) Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls
Rakle Posted April 14 Clone Share Posted April 14 It will depend upon which subsystems will be used. The build point method becomes rather abstract. Countryside developments like farms are at a hex level (12 miles across). The farms could be everything from livestock to flax to cabbage to whatever. Penchant Posted April 18 Clone Share Posted April 18 Maybe we could have a sidequest to play while we also do settlement building? That way momentum isn't lost. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls
Rakle Posted April 19 Clone Share Posted April 19 @Penchant @dhemon @Terran @Alterangel We will be using the kingdom building rules. Further discussion on this topic will take place in The City Works thread. tl/dr Overview SRD LINK Kingdom is based upon the 12 miles across hex, and Kingdom turns are 1 month long. Players with assigned roles only need spend 1 week a month in the kingdom. Many of the projects are big scale such as building multiple farms or upgrading the shrine to a temple. Tasks: First we need to assign people to roles. Kingdom Roles Anyone that has played Kingmaker knows about the 10 kingdom roles. These roles can be filled by PCs or NPCs. We need to assign PC or NPCs to at least 5 of the roles. The must haves are: Ruler, and Treasurer. The next three important ones: are Councilor, High Priest and Spymaster because of unrest. Unrest is a metric that goes from 0 to 20. 0 = everything is good. 20 = the entire kingdom is in anarchy - no matter the size. Once a kingdom reaches 11 or more unrest, it loses control of one hex per point over 10. We are an one hex county at this point, so we collapse at an unrest of 11. Deciding, who handles each role will be our first discussion. Second task: We need to decide what our first city projects will be. Link to our Kingdom Stats. Example tasks will be repairing the walls or upgrading the housing. We can make these decisions after we determine roles, and figure out our resources.
