The rangy, red-headed farmboy is a recent sight around the Inn. Orin is dressed simply, as benefits his presumed station - sturdy and well-worn clothing thaimage.jpeg.d2277f618a1c793fc9c5454dd0078876.jpegt can stand up to a variety of environments. The most notable thing about his garb is the sweater he wears pulled over his clothing and armor; woven from an unusual sort of fur, close inspection reveals that it can be seen through in spots - more unusually, those spots change position from time to time.

Admittedly, few people pay more than a passing note to the young man's appearance as he passes. Far more notable, at least to many observers is the fact that perpetually following in Orin's wake is a sturdy badger - perhaps not noteworthy in a room that plays host to such parties as rangers and druids - yet this particular badger stands out by being adorned in a suit of well-fitted leather armor, complete with matching cap from which protrudes its badger ears.

Like many of the Inn's guests and visitors, the pair start the day by looking over the famous board. Orin's lips purse in thought as he reads the various entries before he finally nods to himself and taps one.

Queen Mhiryaana III: Fluttered up to the notice board and looked over the jobs "it has been a while, oh here's one" and with a regal flourish she signed her name. She then sees the badger "oh, Mr Stripy. You are cute" she then makes a fuss of him "what is your real name Mr Stripy eh" she asks. Looking up she sees the red-headed lad "oh hi, my name is Queen Mhiryaana III but you can call me Q. Have you signed up for a job?"

"And it's nice to meet you, Q. You can call me Orin." He looks over the board, noting the job the pixie signed up for. "I did sign up for a job. The same one you did, it happens."

Brody steps back into the Tavern after he had completed his last job, a few of the people there recognized him, even calling out asking if he would be playing tonight. He gives them all a winning smile and nodded his head. Before he played though he went up to the board to see if there were any new jobs. The last job allowed him to get some magic for his weapons. Perhaps the next job would allow him to do more for his armor or other equipment. After a quick look he found one job that looked promising and he signs his name to it.

He makes his way up to the stage, and after a moment of testing his Mandolin strings were in tune he begins to play a lively tune. Some regulars begin to dance to the music and one odd fellow began singing along, though the words he sang were not the familiar words he knew for the song. It was something he had noticed here in this melting pot of life that sometimes the music he knew had different words from different places. He followed the first song with an old sea chanty since he saw a couple of sailors in the back who started singing boisterously along with his song. As he plays he noticed a couple of others walk in and make their way to the board and sign their name eventually they both sat at the same table.

After he finishes his last song he makes his way over to the table that the two sat at and introduced himself. "I could not help but notice that you two signed up for a job, was it the one for the Abbey? I too signed up for that one, I am Brody Silvertongue, bard extraordinaire, and you are?

Queen Mhiryaana III greeted the two adventurers "well me Orin, well met Brody. I am Queen Mhiryaana III but you can call me Q, I have been in a few Abby's and I even had one built once but never a human one. My kingdom was destroyed by orcs and I have become an adventurer to help re-build my kingdom, I hope that I might enlist some of the adventurers here to help me, we will have to see" she said with sorrow in her eyes.

Orin nods, mostly to himself, and finds an unarmored spot to give Badger a scratch. "I'm afraid I'm not an extraordinaire much of anything," he tells his new companions, "and can't claim to be royalty of any sort. I'm a simple farmer, and sometimes food provider to a badger, looking to make his way in the world."

And while he certainly looks the part, even if his sweater sometimes has strange transparent spots, he does have a badger and the scythe that makes up part of his adventuring gear does look well-used, there's a strange aura about him - a sort of vigorous feeling that begins to infuse his new companions as they introduce themselves and become members of a common company however temporary, that suggests Orin is not entirely the humble agrarian he protests being.

You can smell the bread baking in the oven, and the hearty smell of hunter’ stew simmering over a fire. It would be comforting if not for all the blood.
 

The kitchen door is open, and just inside is a man, clad in white robes and a blue cloak, lying upon the floor, badly injured. Next to him is the cook, who was clearly surprised by his entrance. Broken shards of crockery lie on the floor, along with recently chopped vegetables and a cleaver. The cook has placed a towel to the man’s neck, which is turning red as you watch.

Flaming DwarfIgni had barely pushed open the door to the tavern and entered when the commotion started. There was a scream, a crash and everyone in the room looked to the kitchen where a wounded man had apparently collapsed.

Igni began heading in that direction as his healing magic may be of some use. On the way he saw a familiar face in the crowd, the bard he had worked with on his last mission.

"Brody! Good to see ye again. What's happened?" he asked briefly, aware of the urgency of the situation.

While he would have spoke more it was at this moment that the commotion happened in the kitchen. He begins to head to the kitchen himself that he heard a familar voice speak behind him. He looks back with a slight smile as he greets Igni "Well met my friend, I was actually signing up for a new job, but it seems that someone is hurt in the kitchen. You should join us."
