The number of times per day you may now use the ability at this shorter duration is equal to your caster level. For example, if you are an air genasi, you normally have the ability to levitate once per day as a spell-like ability as if cast by a 5th-level sorcerer, allowing you to levitate once per day for up to 50 minutes. With this feat, you can now levitate five times per day, each time for up to 10 minutes. Ruess Posted August 8, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) The Knives Are Drawn You strike first, and you strike hard. Robin leads the attack upon one of the two small statured warriors menacing your dragon, and Saai Vees finishes his work. Supporting them, Chira fires her crossbow but it is of little effect, sadly. As the first enemy falls, your wizard finishes an incantation and casts a spell. A great cloud of smoke is formed, and from within it you can hear the violently nauseated heavings of the trooper whose form Kaldakaczil can barely make oiut from the smoke. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. This save is repeated on your turn each round that the creature remains within the area. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Balances check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Balance skill for details). The DM should adjust saving throws by circumstance. For example, a creature charging down an incline that is suddenly greased has little chance to avoid the effect, but its ability to exit the affected area is almost assured (whether it wants to or not). The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item—a rope, ladder rungs, or a weapon handle, for instance. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature receives a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item. A creature wearing greased armor or clothing gains a +10 circumstance bonus on Escape Artist checks and on grapple checks made to resist or escape a grapple or to escape a pin. Ruess Posted August 13, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted August 13, 2023 (edited) The Knives Are Drawn The smoke vanishes - and two members of your party seize the moment to pounce upon the opportunity so revealed, timing it just so with your wizard's own spellcasting. As your wizard knew and told you, the enemy has bundled into a defensive formation at the end of this path, spears at the ready and javelins being readied to throw. It is not to be, however, because Chira sends a lethal bolt across the distance with a telling accuracy that fells the first spear carrier. There is a choked gurgle from the warrior followed near-instantly by an undignified collapse, for the warrior was far too busy trying not to slip upon the grease underboot. At the same time, your dragon rushes forth and, thanks to the greasy on the floor giving the other spear trooper far too much to think of, the dragon's rush meets an exposed target that his jaws make quick work of. Your handsome priest stands ready, as does the furious protector beside him. At the face of such determination and skill, your foes choose to... Well. With a squeal and violent shoving, the longsword waving leader of these warriors turns and runs elsewhere, to "left" from your view. The one trooper not on the ground turns and joins its leader in squealing retreat. The other two still on the ground make every effort to scramble back up. bloodsprite Posted August 14, 2023 Clone Share Posted August 14, 2023 (edited) Saai Vees's anger simmers beneath the surface as she borrows Robin's torch, the flames casting dancing shadows across her determined features. Her lavender eyes glint with a mix of malice and resolve, the weight of the recent ambush fueling her intentions. The memory of her companions being attacked ignites a fire within her, a fire that now finds its outlet in a vengeful plan. With purposeful steps, Saai Vees advances toward the fallen goblins, her gaze locked on the grease pool covering the battlefield. The torch's flames illuminate her path, painting the stone floor with flickering light and casting her silhouette in sharp relief. As she reaches the puddle of greasy liquid, she lowers the torch closer, the fire's glow reflecting in her determined eyes. The moment hangs in the air, the torch poised above the slick substance. And then, deliberately, she lowers the torch into the pool. A burst of flames erupts with a roar, engulfing the grease in a ferocious conflagration. The fire catches quickly, its hungry tongues licking at the air with an insatiable appetite. The goblins' earlier hiding place becomes a pyre of their own making, the flames consuming the space where they had thought they could find safety. Saai Vees watches the flames with an intensity that mirrors the fury burning within her. She doesn't take pleasure in causing harm. Still, at this moment, it's about justice, about ensuring that those who sought to harm her companions face the consequences of their actions. As the fire rages, Saai Vees takes a step back, her chest rising and falling with the weight of her emotions. The shadows cast by the flames dance across her face, accentuating the mixture of vengeance and resolve that drives her. She turns away from the inferno, her gaze returning to her companions, ready to face whatever challenges lie ahead with the same unwavering determination.
