DESCRIPTION Elia is a small kobold, well, a dragon really, barely over 2' tall with a tail that is actually a bit longer than she is tall. Her scales are purple, violet, and pink shades, quite vibrant, and her eyes are a luminous aqua blue-green (heavy on the blue). Her fins are more flexible than that of standard kobolds with stronger, more controlled support spines that allow her to flex and relax them, giving her much better control maneuvering in water than her land-bound brethren.

Her "leather" armor, a bluish-gray toned material is rough to the touch, covered in small cartilage ridges from the sea eel its crafted from.

Elia, half paying attention to the conversation perks up as she understands that something about the door might be dangerous. Doallyn suggest a magic solution which Elia nods in agreement of, after all, it would work quite well but its a resource they need to be careful about still, even she realizes that. If there isn't a need to use it they shouldn't.

She cleared her throat and spoke up, "Tie rope on handle and I can pull from above, no need to waste magic..." It seemed quite simple to her. Standing a good distance away, on the ceiling, she'll be able to pull up on the handle without being in danger simply by tugging on the rope. They won't waste any magic and no one is put at risk.

 The Doors

You make you preparations.

None of you are in a hurry to discover what danger lurks unseen so you allow each other the fullest strect of you patience as the rope is wound with the greatest care about and around the torch sconce. It takes surprisingly long due to this but caution wins over any hurry.

Elia pulls upon a rope in steady fashion with a solid footing in the ceiling, using just the correct angle to hold the maximum force in her act.

Thus!

When the large torch shifts in its sconce, everyone present can hear a faint click that is followed by a much more violent noise when the sconce bursts with spikes. Sharp, rust red spikes protrude from all across the length of the sconce with, dare you say it, a viciousness in their motions.

Silence falls soon after, and you gather your wits.

Awoo shuffles beside Chira, unsettled by such traps. Yet the lupine companion remains by Chira's side and sniffs the air again.

You all knew to expect a trap, and now have confirmed it. Doallyn remarks that he hopes this is the only trap involved with this door because if the doors themselves are trapped as well, he will consider getting a battering ram on a lend-rent basis from the surface.

spacer.pngspacer.pngChira rides closer and dismounts going up to the heavily marked door, taking out a scrap of cloth, she begins fapping the scratched doorway, seeing if removing some of the dust and dirt reveals anything else about the writing. "Underground tombs like this one, a cleaning service should engage."

"We should be clear to move forward now, yes? How common would it be to put two traps on one door... The mechanisms would get in each other's way, surely?" the dragon inquired, his tail swishing to and fro as he waited to make his approach and finally open the door for them to advance, more than aware that there could be the creator of those skeletons hiding on the other end. At least he let his mind wander over the typical construction of these dungeons as he waited for the all clear to advance, curious if such designs really should be something they should be mindful for.

Robin Kirkko

egXhMPu.jpgRobin jumps in terror as spikes burst from the sconce, the laughs in relief. "Well, that could have done some damage. I suppose I wouldn't be surprised if the other sconce was trapped in the same way. I don't know about the door, though." He lifts the torch up, looking the door over carefully.

Description

Robin is a straw haired tomcat. He is tall, strapping, and handsome, with blonde hair carefully tousled for a rakish look, blue eyes, and a strong jaw. He always dresses in clothes that show off his physique. He is, as one would expect of a cleric of Sune, incredibly vain and considers his hair his best feature. His focus on superficial matters might give the impression that he isn't all that bright. One the other hand, be sincerely sees the beauty in other people--whether outer beauty or inner beauty. He carries a shield depicting the face of a beautiful red haired maiden, and has a rosary of glass beads with the same symbol on the end dangling from his belt.

The rest of you observe and assist Chira in her endeavor because, as ever, more eyes and ears can only help. She takes her time, dusting here and there, tilting her head and peering at the scribbles both here and there, working it all over and even flying a

Awoo, too, tries to help. It's not a huge help that Awoo offers but he tries his best.

To the eyes of the rest of the party, your chiropteran comrade seems to slowly grow increasingly focused upon one section in particular, and once she has dusted as much as she believes she can, you can see her peering at the carvings that lie within the vicinity of the now very lethal looking torch sconce as well as the carvings beneath the sconce. Throughout this investigation you have observe Chira tilting her heaed this way, that way, and even hanging upside down from the door frame. It looks all quite odd to your eyes.

Finally, your compadre has words to offer you. She returns, much dustier and dustier for it, but clearly possessing knowledge~

spacer.pngspacer.pngChira flaps her wings and claps her arms, blowing some of the dust and cobwebs off her fur. "Strange this is. Details of a hidden passage on the right, fifty paces in, are beneath the trapped torch carved. Why would someone of something so hidden, such an obvious reveal make? A false rock or hidden lever to make it open there is."

"We are not the first adventurers to come down here, its possible it was a message left behind by a previous foray for those that would come after?" the dragon offered, shifting a wing as he made his way back towards the door. "But, assuming nothing else of note was discovered, shall I open the door and see what horrors wait on the other side?"

They had all been suspicious of the doorway thus when the trap was sprung it didn't really startle the small kobold. Despite that fact she let out an audible sigh of relief now that the trap itself had been sprung. She had thought they had everything covered with the group they'd assembled but clearly traps might be an issue.

She stood near the vicious looking spikes and examined them as Chira looked for anything else unusual. "These things could have really hurt one, or more, of us!" Elia's worry was mollified a bit by the fact that the small batty-woman, Chira, seemed to have incredibly sharp senses and could spot things that seemed out of place much more easily than most, perhaps even a well trained device expert. "I think you are quite alert and capable of finding these things Chira. I certainly wouldn't have noticed them! Perhaps it wasn't as easy as you thought it was to notice..." Elia grinned and shrugged, glad simply that Chira had found the writing.

 The Way Ahead

You all stand back a safe distance but maintain yourselves at full readiness while your dragon companion sees to the doors.

As you watch, Kaldakaczil heaves. Raw strength boils from the dragon's coiled muscles, and there is a great, heavy sound of grinding.

The doors yield you path, whether it be one or two doors that you force open. They do so slowly, and you can hear Kaldakaczil grunting from the effort of moving such heavy stone objects.

When the work is done, and your path lies open, you take a good, long look ahead into the darkness.

A wide corridor stretches forward. It is wide, and paved with floor tiles. Should you stand close to Kaldakaczil, you will observe the walls bearing the caress of an artisan's touch upon them. Torches sit in sconces, and beneath them there are quietly shining fungal masses that illuminate a faded light. You count such tiny lights to be fairly plentiful, at least here and as far as you can see.

This paved corridor stretches forward. You see no doors on either side, and the ceiling is some fifteen feet above you.

You recall that a secret passage awaits some fifty feet forward...

Kaldakaczil's eyes sweep across the walls, looking to see if he can make out anything from the craftwork of the walls, whether that be just its construction or an artistic embellishment chiseled into them, before starting to creep forward with a flick of his tail to invite the rest to follow. He moved carefully, keeping on the defensive for any traps or ambushes whilst his keen eyes and ears craned forward as the party's vanguard. Until, when it came time to the hidden door 50ft in, he'd stop and crane his gaze towards the walls to try to figure out what hidden switch would reveal it, brushing his claws gingerly along the stone's surface.
