The Lights In The Dark.

You wait for your draconic companions to step off the lift before anyone does anything further.

When he does, there is an alarmingly loud crackle that rises all around you from the bones. It echoes, rises, grow-

The bones explode into motion! Entire bundles of bone fragments are leaping at the many skulls that roll in place before pulling together!

You have a moment to form up before these boneheads come at you!

Robin Kirkko

egXhMPu.jpgRobin holds his holy symbol and says a prayer to Sune. With the whiff of rose petals, you feel the blessing of Sune descend on you, giving you strength against the ugliness of your enemies.

"Aim for their heads! There's something off about their heads!"

Description

Robin is a straw haired tomcat. He is tall, strapping, and handsome, with blonde hair carefully tousled for a rakish look, blue eyes, and a strong jaw. He always dresses in clothes that show off his physique. He is, as one would expect of a cleric of Sune, incredibly vain and considers his hair his best feature. His focus on superficial matters might give the impression that he isn't all that bright. One the other hand, be sincerely sees the beauty in other people--whether outer beauty or inner beauty. He carries a shield depicting the face of a beautiful red haired maiden, and has a rosary of glass beads with the same symbol on the end dangling from his belt.

Doallyn groaned as the spell triggered.  He attempted to gauge the spell again as it was now activated.

As suspected... Skeletons.

He noted the comment about their heads from Robin.  He wasn't a fan of the cleric's ego, but he'd take the man's knowledge on undead and things of this nature.  He's foregone Necromancy as one of his own skills, and his knowledge on religion was limited as best.

Good to know, even a undead thing, that a head shot still does the job.

Doallyn made sure his crossbow was loaded and then set it aside for use after his summonings had been spent.

DESCRIPTION Elia is a small kobold, well, a dragon really, barely over 2' tall with a tail that is actually a bit longer than she is tall. Her scales are purple, violet, and pink shades, quite vibrant, and her eyes are a luminous aqua blue-green (heavy on the blue). Her fins are more flexible than that of standard kobolds with stronger, more controlled support spines that allow her to flex and relax them, giving her much better control maneuvering in water than her land-bound brethren.

Her "leather" armor, a bluish-gray toned material is rough to the touch, covered in small cartilage ridges from the sea eel its crafted from.

Elia frowned. * Well this is not good... at all... * She found the process quite fascinating though, despite her rising concern. It was almost beautiful, how the fragment all but flew together. Like a well orchestrated series of movements strung together but in reverse and she simply stared at the unfolding scene.

"Amazing!" She said aloud, unintentionally, and blushed even as she realized she'd done it. * Well... it was amazing... look at that... its like watching a beaver damn that was burst flow backward... * She couldn't help but watch and before she knew it they'd all reformed into their fully assembled skeleton forms. Not only that but the others had already been reacting to the things, unlike herself. The blush grew deeper as she realized she'd been quite distracted by the whole thing.

Despite not knowing much about undead the little kobold wracked her brain trying to recall anything she could about them. Whether it was the fascination with the process that had just happened or the direction to attack their heads if possible didn't really matter. She couldn't recall a scrap of information of any real use about them. All in all it wasn't really a surprise of course. If you had asked her about sharks, the best time to sail, or where good fishing spots off the coast were she could give you quite the detailed answer but bones just were not something she knew anything about really.

Kaldakaczil frowned in annoyance when the skeletons started to move, taking a step back as they assembled to gather with the party as he reared into a defensive posture to prepare for the assault.

 The Lights In The Dark.

There is no time to react. No chance for even a single courageous sentence.

They are upon you in an instant.

Two of them pounce upon Kaldakaczil's form, swinging a clawed arm with a furious speed. However, their form is poor and they lack skill - which allows Kaldakaczil to force their attacks aside. It is almost enough to save him from meeting their eyes, which Kaldakaczil can note is a burning, blazing blue. That observation comes with a feeling like claws reaching for Kaldakaczil's spine!

The third one lunges at Doallyn in a perfect, wide slash. It cuts wide, and comes very close to landing a hit somewhere critically important! The claws leave Doallyn with a feeling like a chill seeping into his skin. A careless look at his attacker tells Doallyn it possesses angrily blue light where its eye sockets are, and that in turn gived Doallyn a very chilling feeling along his spine.

Kaldakaczil was grateful for his defensive stance as the two skeletons in front of him charged straight for him, allowing him to side step their blows, whilst his mind managed to shake off the fearful malediction their glowing blue eyes imposed. However, his sense of triumph at turning aside their blows was swiftly cut short when another swish to his right was answered with its impact against Doallyn, prompting an annoyed flicker from the dragon's tail.

"Be careful of their eyes! They have some sort of panic inducing effect if you look into them!" he cautioned, as his tail continued from its irritated cant into a long, sweeping slide against the skeleton furthest to his left, intending to knock it down then follow up with a bone-crushing crunch of his jaws upon the creature's skull when it was on the floor. He thought about averting his eyes to try and safe guard himself against their fearful assault, but thought that with one of them already injured, they needed to make these three skeletons, zero skeletons, as swiftly as possible.

Elia skittered over the side of the lift and moved through the bones, many of the scattered piles taller than she was. * Too close ... * Being up close and personal was not something the little kobold was comfortable with and felt that it needed to be remedied, immediately. She stepped through the bones carefully until she'd put a bit of distance between herself and the immediate threat. After all, she couldn't help anyone if one of those things got her!

Turning, she launched a shot back at the skeleton that had moved onto the lift. She sighed in frustration as her bolt flew far off course of her intended target. * That's no help at all! Its so much more difficult with all of them grouped around it like that... I definitely need more practice as well... *

 The Lights In The Dark.

Doallyn

Doallyn grits his teeth and turns his anger into focus, shedding the thoughts of claws from his mind as he does. Almost dead on his feet but still moving, he shuffles back from his assailant and calls up an elemental from the ground to aid Kaldakaczil. "Robin! Need help, if you please!" he calls as he limps a few steps, hoping someone can keep the undead off of Doallyn before it comes at him again and finishes the job.

The wisp is a small lump of rocks and dirt. It claws up into action without much fanfare beyond the usual flash of power. It also attacks the skeleton forthwith with a solid thm that leaves the skeleton barely upright.

Skeletons

Despite the great blow it suffered, the skeleton upon Kaldakaczil remains set upon the dragon as does its companion.

Kaldakaczil is in luck. however. Or then he tripped in fortunate manner. Only one claw penetrates his defenses despite two eager assailants doing their very best.

The one that almost ended Doallyn follows him without pause - but through some luck, and perhaps some distraction from the others, its claws miss Doallyn.

The dragon hissed in frustration, thinking his attempt to yank one of the skeletons to the ground was well executed, only to see the bony figure manage to overcome his diminished strength! With a rumble of annoyance, the gold-scaled reptile focused on a more direct approach, snapping his fangs towards the injured skeleton to try and bring the number of combatants down to at least two!

The assorted scattered bones, forming a field of effective hiding places for Elia and with distance between herself and the platform she takes advantage of them. Ducking down and moving slightly northwards she peeks out at the scene unfolding a short distance away. Kal has two of them on him but if the other one they're all ganged up on is finished quickly then everyone can shift over and help him that much sooner. Its clear they weren't really prepared for this but she was sure that if they stuck together they could pull through, even if they simply had to retreat to the tavern above right away.

She launched another bolt of energy at the skeleton engaging the others on the lift and then crouched again. * As long as I keep moving and its engaged it won't know where I'll be attacking from...* This was the type of engagement she was used to, moving from one point of cover to another, and striking at an opponent from surprise, leaving them unable to defend themselves. It might not be very "sporting" but she was practical when it came to dangerous situations, especially since virtually every danger towered over her in the first place!
