Doallyn's eyes widened a bit. He wasnt sure what to expect on the other side of the door, but Yeenoghu cultists was not something that would have been his first guess.  He wasnt a fan of Necromancers. Demonic worshipping Necromancers was even lower on the list. Grave robbing demonic worshipping cultists trying to perform some less that nice spell, in the exact place he was trying to get answers from, would probably be near the bottom of the list.

He caught his feet moving forward before his brain had even fully formulated a plan. He also needed to remember he had others capable of helping in this situation. The Wizard stopped himself from completely charging in.  He looked to Lucas and Klad in front of him at the doors.

We need to stop that spell... NOW

Kaldakaczil's fins rippled as his eyes swept across the room thanks to his advantageous viewing, recalling information with rapid celerity as he did so. Faded memories from both his ancestors and his adventurers with Ser Aluric peculated towards the surface of his mind as his eyes settled upon the demon worshiping necromancer. Out of reflex he took in a breath, gathering air into his lungs, willing the elemental fire from his draconis funddamentum to pour into his chest... Only to feel the now familiar weakness of his current state as barely more than a flickering ember of power tickled within his chest.

"Hiss... The fire's going to choke everyone down here if its not dealt with," the gold snapped with the disarmed breath he had hoped to put to use elsewhere. Granted, there was plenty of use for a large, roaring flame when dealing with necromancers...

spacer.pngChira can see through the door to the caster, the fire, and she can hear all that her compatriots are talking about, so she jumps up, flapping her wings to come just in front of the open door and cast a quick cantrip toward the strange caster in bony armor.  Wise enough to know that this ritual may be far beyond her; she takes a plan from the idea that oppositional elements can often throw off the success of a ritual.  The bat gestures with one hand and speaks in strange words; suddenly above the flames there is introduced a downpour spread out over the fire which is two good gallons of water raining down over the whole of the blaze for the next few seconds.

DESCRIPTION Elia is a small kobold, well, a dragon really, barely over 2' tall with a tail that is actually a bit longer than she is tall. Her scales are purple, violet, and pink shades, quite vibrant, and her eyes are a luminous aqua blue-green (heavy on the blue). Her fins are more flexible than that of standard kobolds with stronger, more controlled support spines that allow her to flex and relax them, giving her much better control maneuvering in water than her land-bound brethren.

Her "leather" armor, a bluish-gray toned material is rough to the touch, covered in small cartilage ridges from the sea eel its crafted from.

The cracking sound the doors made in the passageway sounded like a crack of thunder to Elia, abrupt and sharp, unexpected in the muted silence that seemed to fill the air. There seemed to be a moment then, brief as can be, where time seemed to simply freeze. Everyone in their places, all gazing forward to what lay ahead, and voices from within the room clearly heard from so nearby. Elia could even see someone from where she stood, right there ahead in the room behind the one open door.

Resolutions

You prepare to act.

Yet you are a notch to late.

Before anyone can do more than realize the danger, before Chira can cast her spell...

"Delay them! Quick!"

"Raaa!"

They are upon you, these two men armored with bone.

They are quick to rush to your location, shouting gleefully. And as they do, the torches in their arms flutter with a bright. roaring flame that mirrors their rush. One of them comes face to muzzle with Kaldakaczil and the other provides a window of opportuity by hurling his torch right at Kaldakaczil like one might a javelin.

The torch clonks upon Kaldakaczi's skull but the angle is too clumsy to do more than smart. In similar fashion, the torch brandished at him fails to even touch him, but now the way forward to stop the black magician is blocked by the gaunt-faced man in bone armor!

This leaves the large man with the flail free to focus upon his ritual and his incantations. There is much gesturing and waving of a flail involved.

Doallyn saw the torch fly through the air and bounce off Kald's head and land harmlessly to the ground. The cultist that threw the torch was blocked from his sight by the large door. However the other standing in front of the the party's golden dragon was still partly visible. Seeing the torch land on the floor was all the cue that the wizard needed. He didn't have many spells available. He's already summoned his elemental earlier. But he had one left and grease was flammable, and the torch on the floor made it nearly unavoidable. A bit of pork fat from inside the components pouch and the incantation.

Flammabilles uncto inimicos uri!

He aimed for the 10ft grease spell to conjure on the torch itself and backwards into the room underneath of the cultist directly in front of Kald. Confident that the dragon could handle the bit of flame that would hopefully burst from the lit grease, and maybe if he was lucky the cultist would stay lit for a little extra burn. It would still be mild in comparison of the hellish flames the foul cultist was deserving of.

The dragon's mistake with his currently nonexistent breath weapon cost him the initiative, it seemed, as he was assaulted with the flailing torches. He had no fear of the flickering flames at its head, leaving only the wood itself and the strength behind them from the minions, but in his weakened state that alone was cause for concern. So, as much as he might have wished to charge right past these two and focus on the big cackle's little soldier... He'd have to deal with with them first, particularly as he heard the mutterings or arcane and divine spellwork going on behind him.

Well, he was shoulder to shoulder with Lucas! Which meant it was time for one of his favorite tactics with Ser Aluric whenever he was in the guise of a wolf - set them up so that the guy with the big weapon could knock 'em out! The wily dragon's long, serpentine neck snaked forward as he tried to grip his fangs around his opponent's leg before yanking with all the considerable strength in his body to rip his balance out from underneath him! With remarkably ease, the dragon had lifted the mook almost upside down with his act, leaving the minion to fall back to the ground and into he wizard's oncoming flammable grease! Seeking to take advantage of his own opening, the dragon's neck surged back down to try to land a bite upon the cultist's person... Only to feel his own legs slip from underneath him as Doallyn's Grease spell took its effect upon reality, sending the dragon tumbling into a ball of yellow scales, limbs (so many limbs!) as he almost rolled entirely onto his back!

"...I meant to do that!" he coughed, taking advantage of his foes similar prone state and currently (possibly) on fire state to scramble back onto his feet.

The chaos that ensued at the open doors was a flurry of activity and movement. With the two enemies on the ground, surrounded by flames, and the dragon tumbling as well, then the others all doing their own thing in the enclosed space. It was a lot all at once. Much more complex that the little kobold wanted to deal with. She merely moved forward and up the side of the wall a bit to get a cleaner shot at the figure in the back, the one that appeared to be in the process of casting some sort of spell that had the others all riled up.

Then she did what she did best, a ray of coruscating eldritch energy lanced out from her hand as she gestured towards the caster. The dark-bluish green oily coils snaking through the air towards their target. "HA! Gotcha'!" Her small shout of triumph and glee from the back carried forward through the passage into the room.

Description

Robin is a straw haired tomcat. He is tall, strapping, and handsome, with blonde hair carefully tousled for a rakish look, blue eyes, and a strong jaw. He always dresses in clothes that show off his physique. He is, as one would expect of a cleric of Sune, incredibly vain and considers his hair his best feature. His focus on superficial matters might give the impression that he isn't all that bright. One the other hand, be sincerely sees the beauty in other people--whether outer beauty or inner beauty. Lucas Léonide BlaiseAge 26 | Height 6''0 | Weight 126 lbs. | Hair Blonde | Eyes Gold | Complexion Fair skinned

This male appears to be between five foot nine and six feet, he is clad in scaled-mail baring the symbol of St Cuthbert; god of retribution. His hair is blonde reaching down as far as the edge of his ears with no curls or knots, though the subtle glint of oil portrays a lack of hygiene. Rounded features specifically around his nose, chin, and eyes give the impression that his origins are initially human, despite his unusual birth as an Aasimar.

His equipment consists of the aforementioned scaled-mail which is strapped over a green doublet with a second layer of brown leathers. His shoulders carry the straps of a backpack that appears to be full of various odds and ends; the outer layer consisting of iron buckles, a bedroll, and waterskin all strapped neatly against the burlap folds. His belt has two pouches that lay strapped shut, just beyond them is the hilt of a battleaxe on his right side.

Resolutions

The enemy may have the initiative but that will not be enough.

Not against Doallyn's talent with flammable grease, which sends the torch wielder through a comedic dance whereupon he drops his torch, and follows its route face-first. The grease takes flight, and thus the conflagration writ small that greets the man is a dreadful distraction. The man might have had a chance to get up maybe but Kaldakaczil's flurry of violence arrives through the window of opportunity created by the grease.

And that is the end of the first man. Fire covers the man's fallen form in very rapid manner..

At the same time, and very much compounding the clamor of combat, Chira's spell comes about. A twist in the spell sees it bring about a literal raincloud into being, thick and heavy with ice water. The rersulting downpour smokes up the whole chamber with smoke, ash and other unmentionables, and yet you can see the smoke first focuses upon forming a heavy cloud right where the large tomb is/was. You can tell from the reedy wheezing and coughing that immediately reaches your ears that the necromancer inhaled a whole bunch of the stuff.

His spellwork finishing allows Doallyn a moment of insight through which he comes to realize the method of opening the doors: all you have to do is shake the offered arm of the door and it swings open. Doallyn feels a nudge silly for not trying that method.

With the door open and the way to the other torch hero now available, Robin and Lucas press in.

Robin spearheads the charge and moves in a way that draws the attention of the grey-eyed man who brings up both of his fists to attack the fair-faced youth- thus Lucas has a perfect window for his attack. Together, Robin and Lucas bring the man down before he even realizes that he has been thoroughly outsmarted.

Your two hinderers have been defeated and the black mage is choking in a heavy cloud of smoke.

Doallyn smiled lightly as things seemed to have gone rather well in stopping the the cultists so far. The grease spell had worked better than planned, though he was slightly upset that Kald had to slip from the spell. At least it did its job and would harmlessly vanish now, allowing the dragon the ability to get back up without the risk of slipping again. Robin and Lucas had seen fit to fell the other thug with little trouble.

The dark choking cloud that now surrounded the remaining necromancer however was a bit of a problem. Firing into the smoke blind would likely prove fruitless. He was okay with a crossbow, but he was by no means a trained archer. His feet were moving once again as his brain was trying to come up with a viable tactic with the options he had available.  He slide between Robin and sidestepped the burning corpse to get a better visual at where the Necromancer was. Still couldnt see that well.  Well... if he couldnt see, he needed something that didnt rely on accuracy as much.  He did his best to remember the last location of the enemy and hurled the Caltrops spell at that area.

Caltrops Examen Pavimento~!

If the necromancer tried to flee, maybe he could at least slow him down.

Having no fear of the burning cultist at his feet, Kaldakaczil charged up ahead. He was tempted to go straight for the necromancer within the ash cloud kicked up by the meeting of icy water and raging fire, but remembering the bite of smoke from the fire in the tavern, the weakened dragon thought better of it. Instead, he ducked around, intending to flank the creature from the right if it tried to escape the smoke and fire given its coughing fit. If his legs were a bit faster, or he had strength within his wings still, he might have tried to perch on top of the tomb for a more commanding position. But, as it was, all he could do was sit at ready where he was, peering into the rising column of ash to try and keep an eye upon the necromancer while waiting for his opportunity.
