It had been a long, somewhat stressful night at work - everyone was nervous and there was some worry about possible looters; lots to keep a guard busy. He should be home asleep, but... darn it, he wanted to be out protecting people, so here he was flying downtown to see if he could at least help with search and rescue. Speaking of which, he may as well start scanning for human thoughts.

DEADMAN

deadman.jpgWhile normally content to keeping to the shadows and harassing petty criminals and gang members at night, DEADMAN has decided that amongst all the chaos of this most unusual attack he would venture out of his comfort zone and try to do some good in this city's time of greatest need. Not sure what he could do he looked to those that have gathered that seem capable of lending their assistance. At the moment he is concerned about the building collapsing in on itself and trying to assess if there are survivors needing rescuing. 

 

OoC: DEADMAN is going to the collapsed building and try to find civilians needing to be rescued. He will use his INTUITION AM46 to locate survivors.

This Macro-Power duplicates the characteristics of any other power. The power rank for the duplicated power is this rank (AM50). Such powers remain as long as the hero maintains his concentration on its existence. Only 1 power can be duplicated at a single time, and switching powers takes 3 turns.

The power works through exposure. The hero must be within 10 of the power to duplicate it for later use. A GREEN feat allows for a successful result. 

The maximum number of powers the hero can duplicate is equal to the power rank (AM50), and if he exceeds the limit replace a newer power with an older power.

The hero can also develop a power stunt that allows him to duplicate Talents as well.

Nemesis is Mind Drain.

The hero's flesh is able to withstand major damage from Physical and Energy attacks only. It works by reducing incoming Physical and Energy attacks intensities by the Resistance rank, and anything over the Resistance rank is taken as damage. The power heals the epidermis at 10x normal rate.

San Francisco, 12:02 p.m.

 

Star-Girl's power has limited effect on the Mecha-Dragon as the two fighters it's chasing split off in opposite directions! The monster then dips downward while whipping its tail and "WHOOOMP!!" smacks Enchantress from the sky - she crashes down into a Southside SF field! 

The Mecha-Dragon circles around and streaks back into the downtown area when Jinn shoots a fiery blast at it causing a small area of its transformed neck to burst into flames! The giant monster comes to a hover over another building and unleashes another laser-fire burst causing the building to explode in flames! 

Fortunately there are no civilians nearby!

deadman.jpgDEADMAN see the hero Enchantress get smack down and runs to her aid. Not having any good ideas on how best to tackle this monumental robot dragon he hopes she has some ideas considering how close she was to it. 

 

OoC: DEADMAN is going to try and aid Enchantress and duplicate one of her powers.

Of course I missed every vital electrical and hydraulic line. Ok I can keep this up. That head is coming off! Once again Nikki targets the dragon's neck, continuing the same plane of effect... sooner than later I'm hitting something you can't lose in there.

 

Result; green... good enough for tissue paper.

While doing so, he again tries to pay attention for any stray thoughts that might indicate a thinking presence in the thing.

 

OOC: Both results green. I don't know if I can do both things or not, but one is passive so?

"So how mad do you think she is?" he asked his trusty AI assistant, O.R.A.C.L.E. Her response was not reassuring, "Considering the colorful language she is using, and the fact that you've broken three dates in the last seven days, I would say very." Mic couldn't help but wince at the thought of how badly he had messed up. But the conversation was quickly interrupted when Mic realized that his companion was hacking into his date's phone. "You're hacking her phone?" he asked incredulously. O.R.A.C.L.E. simply replied innocently, "Yes, is that an issue?" Mic couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. Just as Mic was rounding the last building, he was hit with the sight of mass destruction in the heart of San Francisco. "Holy Fu--" he began, but was quickly cut off by O.R.A.C.L.E. reminding him to watch his language. "Umm...roger," Mic responded sheepishly. But there was no time to waste. Mic needed answers and he needed them fast. "Can you scan that thing and tell me what I'm looking at?" he asked urgently. O.R.A.C.L.E. quickly went to work, initiating the scan and providing Mic with the answers he so desperately needed.

See if Oracle can detect if it's a sentient creature or a construct being run my someone remotely or in person.

Deadman: 

The hero finds the heroine laying in a small field and discovers the Enchantress has been knocked unconscious! 

Jinn:

The roaring flames consuming the building begin to fade and flicker out as black smoke continues to flow from the blasted-out windows! 

 

The Mecha-Dragon soars skyward again, banks hard back down towards downtown and unleashes another laser-blast that nearly slices a skyscraper in half - then the ravaged building explodes!!

After the last explosion and while waiting for ORACLE's answer to hacking or entering.  Mic flies around the behemoth and looks for an entrance by scanning it with his scanner's full range of options especially microscopic looking for a hatch.

DEADMAN

deadman.jpgDEADMAN moves the Enchantress to a safer area, but inside a building. The way that metal beast is blowing up buildings he is afraid to leave her in one only to die from an explosion. He tries to find a nice tree of large greenery to hide her until she can recover on her own. With no means of being able to fly he tries waving down the "Bird-Man" to see if he can carry him to the metal monster. 

 

OoC: DEADMAN is going to try to get Urvogel attention by waving his arms at it.

Mic's eyes widened in disbelief. "You mean that gaping hole where the laser blasts are coming from?" Oracle's silence was all the confirmation he needed.

Mic took a deep breath, his heart pounding with adrenaline. "I was given this suit to be a hero. Let's go and fulfill our purpose." He surveyed the destruction around him, his jaw set with determination. "Alright, let's get crazy and this thing down." With a fierce determination, Mic revved up his unit to maximum speed and charged towards the creature's gaping maw, brandishing his Psi-staff like a fearless knight charging into battle.

OOC:  Not sure what roll is needed to get to the mouth and into it's mouth. but I rolled the psi staff. which is a white result so who knows.

Invulnerable

Right after securing the helicopter, Invulnerable flies back to where the action is, following the dragon's destruction. Then he notices spacer.png

a new figure flying towards the dragon's open maw, "I wonder what he's thinking about..", but he stays close, ready if anything can be done, but doesn't want to attack the thing wight away, with the new hero being so close, to avoid any collateral damage.

A bold time to make a debut. The city is supposed to be evacuated. Of course, -I’m- still here, 
 

Having trouble using her new powers to control the flames, Jinn turned her attention back to the giant metal dragon. Fire wasn’t the ideal tool to use against a dragon, but that wasn’t a ‘real’ dragon, it was some kind of metal robot.

 Jinn concentrated, and called upon the power of the ancient being sharing her body. She raised her hand, and let some of the infinite fire within blast outward.
