Bankin' on It!

The bank robber wave his arms rather ineffectively, apparently petrified by the sudden rain of spider-heroes on their little robbery.

"Yes listen to him, we were just here to take money from the bank, they're insured anyway, and we definitely didn't have anything to do with them..." he waved towards the webbed-up snipers.

He was about to add something when his eyes went wide, just about the same time those of you with spider sense felt that warning tingle. From a shimmer in the air strode three metallic figures around 3 meters tall (~9ft 11in). They were roughly egg-shaped but with the broader part towards the little circular strip on top that was some kind of sensor package (its eyes). They also had two pairs of tentacles that were already whirling around looking for targets to trap people. The worse thing was a large screen on their chest that showed a rather blank-looking face of Joanna J Jamerson. A few of you may have faced something similar before, commonly known as Spider-slayers!

New fight so anyone who needs to recover on condition and/or recover all of their Luck pool. All three of the Spider-slayers, 1, 2 and 3, have five (5) conditions, so this should be a slightly tougher fight.

“Spider-Man Noir” está en desarrollo: será una serie para Prime Video - Infobae

"Yes listen to him, we were just here to take money from the bank, they're insured anyway, and we definitely didn't have anything to do with them..." he waved towards the webbed-up snipers.

"And do you think Insurance companies are made of money?" Mr Silk asked.

I did not really expect a reply. I also really did not expect the sudden appearance of robotic attackers.

"Ben. Who is that guy?"

"Well can you access their code? Find out where they came from?"

The man in black appears to be having a conversation with himself. Gun in each hand thunders, he fires up at the devices with the intent to make them flinch as he ducks for cover behind the car.

"No, I don't think bullets are going to do much, but you told me to leave the grenades at the safe-house."

"Okay, let me try. You do a hard target search for whatever is controlling them. Follow the signal back."

Crouched behind the tire, the mask smiles.

"Okay, weird robots, let's take a look at your Code then, shall we?"

>BANG< >BANG< Two more shots up over the hood of the car without really looking.

"Wait. What? Fluidic generational integration? Well let's exploit the hell out of that!"

One of the Robots pops sparks like a Star Trek console.

"Oooh. Nice. I bet that tingled."

OOC

Shooting at them is just a distraction. Real attack is to try and hack one of them. Gaining Access through any wireless signal they might have.

2d6+2 Reason +2 Hacking Skill. = 10 = Two Conditions on One Spider Slayer. A start on it at least.

I am making up jargon.

Shouldn't the Spider Slayers have stats of some kind? Or is it just a number of Conditions to overcome?

Jonah Jameson on Earth 103 (the number of episodes Person of Interest ran) teaches ethics in journalism courses at NY University and does not believe in Urban Legends. My Guy has no idea what these are.

"RRRRAAHH!" Drow shouted in anger, stopping short of punching the goon as his sixth sense shot off like a spark. He rolled backwards, letting the goon go, and ending up defensive crouch in one graceful motion.

"SLAYERS! HIT 'EM HARD AND FAST YOU WEBHEADS!" Drow yelled as he sprang forward into a running charge. JJ?! But you were dead! Something is very wrong here! he thought.

Mid-run, Silk's gunshots rang out, far too loudly. While the sounds gave Drow a full picture for a whole city block, they were just shy of actual pain. He grit his teeth and focused on his anger. He hadn't realized it, but a growling scream came out of him as he leapt up and flipped, ending in a downward jackknife kick. There was a loud crunch as Drow's metal heel slammed into the robot.

OOC

Attacking with full-force again. Going for #2 so I don't accidentally get shot LOL.

Good Success, so 2 Conditions.

"I guess I'll save the questions for later. By the way I'm Spider-girl don't forget the hyphen." Mayday joked again easily somersaulting out of the way of the three mechanic beings. She recognized the face as J. Jonah Jameson but as far as she knew he had made peace with her father a long time ago.

"Please tell me you have a version of the Empire strikes back in this world?" she begged aiming for the third beings legs and circling around to try to trip it up.

For example, she can cause a person to stick to a wall they're touching just by touching that same wall and willing them to, or she can just as easily violently push them away.

When Araneo tackled the bank robber, he used too much of speed, out of time. He managed to trip him in the ground, but his head got lodged in a culvert. Some cockroaches took the liberty of taking a leisure stroll over his face. His long and barbed tongue whipped them in one movement to his mouth.

Adequate reward for an undeserving performance.

He tried to free himself, and got no result. He could use brute force to break the sidewalk, but a better way was possible. Suddenly his face started to collapse into his body and appear where his leg was, shriveling like an empty sack. A new leg formed over the side walk. He looked to the wounded bank robber with a dozen of menacing eyes and said with a spidery voice. Don't move! I'll be back to take my bite.

But what were those huge things approaching, that didn't have minds? He was confused. How he could terrorize that kind of thing? Were they the enemy or just another strange thing of this world? That was a question for other time though. The other uniforms were attacking them, so they were clearly the enemy.

Araneo didn't waste time this time. He almost vanished from the place he was. His speed so fast that it was hard to lock onto his image. Two pairs of extra long spidery legs sprouted from his torso to help in his mad dash towards one of the robots and he plunged at full speed at the leg of the third robot with his arms morphing into two long and robust spikes.

Araneo was actively scanning the minds of anyone at a close vicinity, including the minds of the other uniforms, to better understand this world through their thoughts. Everything at this world was a novelty to him, completely different from what he was accustomed.

He picked one of them unnerved by his presence. Good. Very good. In Hell, there were only two commodities that were valuable: fear and power. Those things protected you from the other demons, even from those Araneo tried to save. Unnerving was good for now, but in the future, he wanted that he felt fear from him, even terror. To be respected, and protected from harm and betrayal.

Fear and power were all that mattered.

"image.jpeg.a373760e65f2899c7d82c310f184137b.jpegI love Star Wars!" the green and purple Spider-hero joins in both the fray and the conversation. "My brother and me pretended to be Burt Reynolds and Ron Howard all the time growing up." With a leap into the air, and a somersault off the building he lands on the back of webbed-up armored monstrosities, taking advantage of its distracted and entangled condition. He unsheathes his gauntlet's claws and attempts to peel off a section of armor above one of the limbs, then leaps away before it can retaliate.

"These things are tougher than they look," he quips. "Who's bright idea was it to give the Sham-Wow guy control of some battle mechs?"

Clinging to the side of the building, he waves a trashcan-lid sized hunk of the mech's armor around. "Which one of you cats knows about metallurgy? Anyone want this?"

Show OOC

Looks like one condition, given to Mech #Webby.

Sorry about the slow posting. Real life got in the way a little bit.

FUN FACT: Burt Reynolds read for the part of Han Solo. And Lucas directed Ron Howard in the film he did just before working on Star Wars. Imagine what could've been. The sham-wow thing is just me being silly.

Interior Monologue

Star Wars? What does she care about Ronald Regan's successful nuclear deterrent program that brought the Cold War to an end?

Oh. It's a movie.

Ben says in our universe George Lucas attempted to make a fantasy movie of some kind with that name. Plagued by scandal when Carrie Fisher almost OD'd on cocaine. Local British underground type famously tried to hide in makeup as one of the aliens. His enemies found out and loaded one of the actor's toy weapons with real bullets. Harrison Ford was cleared after killing the man. Released an auto-biography titled "Han Shot First" which described his rise as a movie heavy hitter/villain because of his association with the incident.

Lucas was blackballed, couldn't get a job as a director in Hollywood after that, became one of the biggest names in porn.

Weird how one little difference can make a change in your life.

"What?! Wait a sec," Drow said in a confused tone as he did a backwards handcart to get away from the robot as it smashed the pavement with a claw.

"Are you talking about Trek Wars? Love those movies!" he asked, jumping over another claw swipe. "Wrath of the Empire's Strike is arguably the worst one of the bunch. Seriously, no one cares how much Captain Skyspock loves sand!" Drow cartwheeled around another attack.

"Nah, the best one is Revenge of the First Contact. Skyspock learns he's got a son! How cool is that?! N. Day Shyma-Lebouf really pulled the stops out on that twist!"

Ducking under another clumsy claw slash, Drow whipped the robot's legs and then pulled on them as hard as he could. The instant he felt the legs give way, Drow leapt toward the monstrosity and pummeled it in the face screen.

"Burt Reynolds the lawyer? That sounds badass. As for Trekwars I have no idea what your talking about that sounds like fanfiction to me." Mayday continued the conversation like it was something serious while getting right up in the webbed robots face with a attempted mighty uppercut punch.

Araneo plunged right through the leg of the third robot, almost losing his head in the metal structure, and opening a wide hole where he passed like a bullet. He was busy fighting, but his mind was also busy trying to make sense of this world.

His mind and ears were being constantly assaulted by the witty chit-chat of the other uniforms. What is a movie? Or a Burt Reynolds? Something to eat? Sounds like it, as they appear to really like whatever it was. That got him even more hungry.

Some random cockroaches were not enough to satiate his hunger.

Later we eat a Burt Reynolds!
