The Hanger

You can pick any country, I will then pull them together under one 'handler' per say.

So players could be from Spain, England, America or whatever. A mix would be nice, but really doesn't need to be.

Edit: And to make it clear, it would be better to be an organization not a country. If you pick a country, then I will pull out an organization I think is most appropriate.

At the start of the game you shouldnt be aligned 100% with NERV, you might become that way as the story goes. This doesnt mean you need to be anti-NERV, they are the good guys after all.

Awesome. Last question. Should we be giving ourselves designations (pilot 08, X child, etc) or like EVA-07 or whatever, or should we wait and do that at the start?

I guess i'm just wondering how much we should be making up and how much we should wait for. Since you said its a heavily modified Evangelion universe - which is a good thing - i'm just wondering how much i should put in to start.

Unit numbers etc I will sort out.

However is you wanted to give your Eva an alias (like 'the jackal') then please do, I think code names like those add more flavour than 'unit-06'.

Unit numbers and other 'technical' info I will likely do behind the scenes once I've selected players so there's no contradictions.

We will be starting the game fresh, so Silver would have been in NERV with their new roles for maybe a month or so. Assisting the old pilots leaving, and selecting the new ones.

The pilots will then come to NERV london when we start the game, so short awnser is no. Unless you as players want existing history, which is fine by me. Once I have selected players etc, and all of roll20 info is unlocked, I will give people some time to talk and tweak as they see fit.

Since I am the Operations Director, what sort of support would you all like (no promises) to see from your immediate supervisor?

For what i've gathered, early game will probably see the team struggle to deal damage(starting weapons suck so much even the manual say they suck😅 berserkers arent going to berserk with any kind of reliability, AT specialists dont have mighty powers yet ) so i guess the team will favor close combat with knives for killing the entities (decent damage+gang up bonus, while ranged get a penalty for shooting into melee)

Imho, if you dont know what to pick, i'd chose a tank battalion as support, it has good range, it autohit and it deal the same damage of an Eva's rifle. With a bit of coordination(thats your moment to shine) the team can use nullify on the bad guy, then fire at it, then the tank can also fire at it(the major weakness of support is that they need the EVAs to lower the enemy deflection to 0 before attacking, or the attack is wasted). The evas can also get into close combat without creating problems to the tanks(they auto hit!) and the bad guy will be too busy beating the giant robots to waste a shot (assuming they can shot while engaged in melee) at the tanks

if the bad guy does waste a shot at the tank, it's probably a round where the evas havent taken any damage, still a win in my book.

Neo's character can have the candy, mine want unlimited wi-fi😁

What is the in-game date the game will start at? And did the Androsk Asteroid Impact occur on the same date as Second Impact in NGE canon (Sep. 13, 2000)?

EDIT: How strict are you going to be about languages known? Do I have to buy every language other than English known?

hello, while building my character(still work in progress, but near finished) i did notice something odd

Under Tactical maps (eva combat, around page 170) it say melee combat range and point blank ranges are any space adjacent to the one the character is in, this is a problem, one cant be at point blank range(+30 to ballistic skill) and engaged in melee(cant make ranged attacks, except with a pistol, doesnt get point blank range bonus) at the same time, the rules contraddit each other

(Suggested change: adjacent spaces are melee combat range, 1 square further is point blank range)

Es. Enemy-Ally are in melee, Enemy-space-Ally are at point blank range

It's been a long time since I played AdEva, but if I'm remembering correctly, the workaround my DM came up with last time was that, for E-Scale combat, if you were in adjacent squares with an enemy but had not made any melee attacks yet, you were treated as Point Blank Range. If either you or the enemy did engage one another in melee, you were treated as Melee Range until one of you move (which could include just shuffling a dam to return to Point Blank Range without leaving the actual square you were in).

So the in game date will be the 21st September 2023, the asteroid would have hit roughly ten years ago. Exact dates etc I can put into the roll20, though a lot of information will be waiting for a character/player to ask. The intrigue will be mostly player driven (especially at the start), hence why you might have seen me mentioning things in your character threads about making the secrets etc something you character proactively seeks out etc.

With languages, yes pretty strict, think you normally get one extra free (not got PDF in front of me). The reason for this is because we will likely be jumping around the world a little in later parts, as the pilots and OD will be doing some mini dungeon stuff (there will be some extra ways for pilots and ODs to develop 'pilot' scale skills).

I will need to make a small area for 'house rules' and make a call on this.

All Career Paths get Speak Language (English) as an initial skill, as well as either their choice of an additional Speak Language skill or their choice of a Common Lore skill; you also have two free selections for Skill Proficiency, one (or both!) of which you could potentially spend on another language.

Beyond that you have to pay.
