She was a civilian doctor until recently. The boot camp along side her time working with the hospital led to some very exhausting nights but she was thankful for the opportunity. Triage considered the four colored keys. Using those that the video showed made sense. The order perhaps was also something to consider, which seems the others a have picked up on. Was there also a time element? Better safe then sorry. "It may not be important, though turning the keys in sink might be intended for this as well." Triage waits to see if Angel will step up to turn the key or not, however. She is curious what may be after this...bonding exercise. Be interesting way to make that happen. ArcaneDesperado Posted February 18 Author Clone Share Posted February 18 (edited) As the group turns the four keys, there is a click in the wall behind it. The wall pushes forward and shifts to the side. It opens into a pitch black room with the exception of a single swinging lightbulb in the distant far end of the room, that might be fifty feet into the darkness. As the group filters in the door it will click and shut as the last one crosses the threshold. The small lightbulb would flicker a bit and fade away leaving everyone is complete and total shadow. Then the lights would all snap on. Bright nearly blinding for a moment from the sudden shift. Through illumination came a voice. Gruff and forceful. Attention Maggots!! You can call me Sgt. Slaughter! You've had the big-wigs at the top get to watch you squirm with their little head games. So they can see how well you can handle being dropped into a random situation and figure out a bunch of puzzles. Now its my turn to run you through the meat-grinder. I wanted to call it the Slaughterhouse... but they told me that it was too on the nose. So we made a compromise. Either way, its time to check your physical fortitude. You lot are expected to help keep this country safe from Cobra and any other terrorist threat that decides to stick its slimey head up out of the sand. Your butts belong to me through until you finish this course. And there are only two ways to finish. Drag your hide through that finish line... or stuffed into an itty-bitty ditty bag. He looked to a clipboard in his hand. Juice and Triage you two get to pair up. Huntsman and Fixer, welcome to the buddy system. And it looks like our Hog fellow decided to take the other exit door. Just as well for you Angel. Little miss. You didn't seem to think that teamwork makes the dream work in the first phase. So you get to run the course solo... Maybe one of the other pairs will be willing to let their scores take a hit to motivate you. Slaughter didn't wait for a response, as he turned around and pushed a large red button on the back wall again. The backwall opening up like a hanger door. On the other side laid the massive obstacle course. It looked like it had walls built out of various parts of broken down military cargo aircraft. The start of the course looked like a pit of hot coals. Five minutes...Get yourselves ready. Rudra Posted February 19 Clone Share Posted February 19 (edited) Emma take a few moments to adjust to the light, when the sergeant begin talking, she look at him. A tad annoyed by the disrespectful nco, who treat them like rookies at the boot camp when some of them have a decade..or decades, in Huntsman's case, of experience on their backs. Respect is a two way road, she give as much as she receive, in this case nothing. She give no response, not that the sergeant seem to care, maybe it's better this way, she would end up sabotaging her own chances even more. Moving to the starting line she begin to stretch, being alone is not necessarily a bad thing, she look at the hot coals wondering if they are real. She is ready, as ready as one can be to a test like this. Hard-ass NCO, an obstacle course to put some hair in your chest… this was the picture he’d had in his head of special operations training. Falling in to form with a serious of isometric and cardiovascular exercises, he looks over at the others before turning his attention to Huntsman. ”How’s the old ticker these days Huntsman? Any creaks or cracks in the frame I should know about before we do this? Wouldn’t want to see you tap out at the starting gate.” Fixer’s tone is half-joking. Whose to say when the old ranger’s last physical was after all, and Fixer wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Huntsman’s one of the Joe’s oldest recruits… At Huntsman’s question Fixer rubs his chin in thought. “Don’t suppose we have anything to lash’em to our boots with? Leapfrogging across might slow us down a bit.” OOC Edited February 19 by Maester1216 (see edit history) Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls
ArcaneDesperado Posted February 19 Author Clone Share Posted February 19 A wall phone on the side of the hanger would suddenly ring. Slaughter would glance at it with a bit of surprise. After another ring he would make his way over, picking up the receiver. There was a brief pause as he listened to the other end of the line. I've got five of them. Lost one. Took the exit door. A brief moment of silence again from the drill instructor. Getting ready to put them through the paces. If you got only one I can even it out again. Just have them double-time it. If they aren't here by the time the last one goes, then they have to run it solo too. He nodded as his listened. Yes, sir. Roger that. Slaughter hung up the phone and looked back to the group. Looks like insects lucked out with last minute reinforcements. Had another group with five wash-outs. Couldn't wrap their head around a few brain teasers. They'll be joining you for your little recreational activities. He glanced at his watch. Assuming they get here on time... four minutes... "We'll see. Hopefully I won't need to practice first aid for this." Looking at the first area of hot coals, Triage looked over at Huntsman as he grabs the ceiling tiles from the other room. "The coals are not hot enough to melt your boots. Though I would imagine standing about would still make it uncomfortable." Looking over at the wall, she figure it was about ten feet high. That would be a tough jump without assistance. Triage thought to herself. She might be able to run up it a ways then kick off to grab the ledge. Looking over at Juice. "You have gloves? While the coals may not do much to the boots, the souls will be quite hot when either of us need to boost the other up." She could easily pull a couple gauze packs out and wrap her hands in those if she were boosting Juice up, but the thought of using sterile medical supplies didn't sit well with her. Not for an obstacle course. The phone rings unexpectedly as Triage is considering a good first move. Not seeing ahead, she is thankful that Juice has the little drone to be an early warning for them. She hears the sergeant speak of someone else coming from one of the other groupings. That's good. Angel will have a teammate. Certainly she asked for it, but this course might be too much for a single person to do alone. Not even sure I could pull it off alone.
