"Oh! Oh, I say!", Casimir shouts in alarm as a skeletal sailor starts to rise out of the muck at his feet, clearly displeased to see them. A quick glance to his right reveals that the others are having similar problems of their own. In a panic, he swings his mallet in an haphazard attempt at defending himself against the ghastly figure in front of him. "Rest! Return to the earth, and leave life to the living!"

Day 9 Morning, In Brinestump Marsh

BloodySkeleton.png.cf4462d4de0eecc123953d128b16f324.pngAzgar cut one of the skeletons through the middle, shattering its cohesion in an explosion of bones and fragments as it was destroyed.

Arradon pulled back from being nearly surrounded, but Casamir struggled to connect against the skeleton he faced.

With the numbers quickly reduced by one, Barlo moved around to help out Casamir by flanking the skeleton he faced, drawing out his whip. He snapped the leather strand around a boney leg and yanked it out from under the undead. It splattered face first into the mud at the shipwright's feet.

Lothar was still several paces away, but he was coming into sight of the fray in a few more moments.

The skeletons moved closer to Azgar, slashing with their rusty weapons. He managed to evade their curved blades, and grasping claw.

The skeleton by Casamir stood, allowing the man to take free smash at it, before missing with a slash of its own blade.

Casimir takes advantage of the bard's quick actions in flooring the skeleton in front of him. As it struggles to disentangle itself from the whip and regain its footing, he swings, then swings again. The first swing misses by a mile but the second looks like it is more successful.

The tide of battle seeming to turn, Arradon advances forward to support Azgar in his offensive. Realizing his daggers would be of little use, he does his best to draw one of the skeleton's attention to help Azgar make his strikes hit true.

BloodySkeleton.png.cf4462d4de0eecc123953d128b16f324.pngAzgar and Casamir each ended another skeleton apiece.

Barlo moved around and his whip cracked out and the leather wrapped around another of the undead's legs, and he yanked it out from under the creature to cause it to splat in the mud. It struggled back to its feet, allowing Azgar a free cut at its exposed skull.

Neither skeleton managed to harm Azgar or Arradon.

Meanwhile, Lothar came into view and could see the splashing mud and water of combat between his companions and the two undead humanoid skeletons with rusty curved blades.

BloodySkeleton.png.cf4462d4de0eecc123953d128b16f324.pngAzgar finished off one skeleton as it offered a free swing on as it struggled to its feet. The tactic of pulling a leg out from under them while a deadly warrior was looming over them proved too much.

The half-orc destroyed the last one a moment later with the added distraction from Arradon.

Lothar arrived in time to find nothing for his polearm to do... unless more skeletons were found.

Barlo coiled up his whip and hung it from his belt once more, "Well, that was short work. Azgar is quite the bone breaker."

"Judging by their tattered rags, I think these skeletons were sailors and likely part of the crew."

Lothar arrived to find his prediction that he would be too late to take in the combat entirely validated. "You've all got an interesting way of setting up camp.", he remarks, apparently amused, setting up camp being the last thing he'd said before leaving to get the wagons. He surveys the true dead. "Well, luckily they were not up to wererat standard.", he adds, barely glancing at the fragile foes. Breathing once through his nose, he concludes with.. "Alright, if we're going to do this 'right this minute', let's do it." he purrs, grinning toothily.

"I have learned that undead aren't intimidated by my orcish charms, so I learned how to be better at killing them". Azgar explains. Now that the skeletons are dead, Azgar will start to enter the ship. He will be watching for rotten boards and other hazards.
