Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

When the presence of the lizard is disclosed by the party's lead scout Father Wilwick readies himself for action, but then when the beast's hissing reveals that it has detected the presence of the group, even though attempting to move forward with stealth, it prompts the Hafling holy man to action.

Ignoring any further attempts to be stealthy, Wilwick scurries forward in the flash of an eye moving past Fable to take a position behind the huge timber across the room from the lizard, using its massive size to conceal and cover his diminutive frame.

Poking his head out from behind the wooden shaft, Father Bramblemane spins his sling and launches a tiny bullet at the beast implanting the lead projectile deep into the foe before the cleric quickly ducks back behind the stout post to seemingly disappear, as the Domain Priest uses the cover of the wooden brace that is holding up the chamber's rocky ceiling to hide.

Crescenda humms a little musical note in thought when Fable reports a lizard present in the chamber. She holds that note as she considers the angle of the matter- or, well, tries. The ferocious noise of a large lizard hissing rather puts a stopper on Crescenda's thoughtflow.

Then their holy priest rushes forth and leads the charge. Crescenda expects a resounding crash like a thunder rampaging across the skies to follow from the halfling's fierce attack. Crescenda on the other hand blinks and needs another moment to finds her wits again.

"Might I have a look at the creature before we set on ending it?" Crescenda requests of those still in hearing distance.

Keeping close to Fable, Gwen follows along sword and shield at the ready. Hearing Fable whisper that there's a lizard waiting in ambush, Gwen begins to move ready to engage should it attack.

Father Bramblemane hides behind the wooden pillar holding up the cavern's ceiling as the creature hisses and suddenly races forward toward the party.

Crescenda is about to share her musings and offer her insight into the nature of the monitor lizard. She manages to recall the first few important details as well- but by that point violence has already come about!

Thus, Crescenda leaps from through to action to the best of her ability.

Unable to quite identify the lizard in time before a meeting with them and their scaly ancestors is arranged by her companions, and struggling with the trigger to her cross bow - is it STUCK? - Fable looses her bolt at the creature. "Some monitor, they are..."
