Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=17, Touch=12, FF=17 / HP=8/8 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=5, Reflex=2, Will = 6  ________________________________________________________________________

Brother Bramblemane helps Fable back to her feet with a smile saying, "Welcome back to the living, yet again! Glad you're still with us," the Halfling holy man adds as he attends to his armor and equipment making sure he is ready to proceed.

"Well, I suppose we should take a look at the lizard's nest, after all you never know what you might find in addition to 'lizard-raisins'," Wilwick adds with a smile at his common Halfling humor reference to reptile droppings.

Almost as an afterthought based upon his upbringing and the taking of life, the Domain Priest asks his colleagues, "Does anyone know if we can salvage anything of use from this lizard carcass? Is their skin or body parts worth anything? Is their meat edible and worth taking for our dinner," the tiny holy man sincerely asks?

Harvesting the hide and meat is not exactly the focus of our mission. It could be done, but do you really want to take the time right now to do it, short stuff? the druidess asks with a half-smirk.

Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=17, Touch=12, FF=17 / HP=8/8 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=5, Reflex=2, Will = 6  ________________________________________________________________________

Brother Bramblemane momentarily glares at the foul Elf who felt it necessary to verbally assault the holy man with personal insults by calling him short stuff, but then Wilwick's countenance immediately changes back to his normal 'seemingly-friendly' look in the flash of an eye.

While the Doman Priest might be shorter than most Halflings, especially the men in his clan, one thing was for sure, he was faster, wiser, more powerful and much nastier in temperament than most of his kin, and 'Tall-ies' as well.

However, in response to having his words illogically twisted to imply he was advocating for a huge waste of time, the priest ignores the inane comments and instead quickly paints his face with a well-practiced smile reserved for common members of the public before moving and searching the nest himself.

Brother Bramblemane tosses the stick away and quickly cleans his gloves as the Halfling exits the Lizard's nest and says with a slight frown, "Nothing but critter pellets and the bones of its less fortunate victims, but you never know until you look."

Gathering up any loose bullets, Wilwick double-checks his equipment and then adds, "We might as well continue our exploration of this place, when everyone is ready to proceed, of course."

Turning to his last patient, the healer asks with a sincere heart-felt smile upon his small face, "Fable, how are you doing with regard to your recovery?  Are you feeling better?"

If Fable indicates that she is fine, then the diminutive Priest will ask, "Do you feel up to taking the lead again, or would you prefer that I take point or, alternatively, would you like me to accompany you?"

Crescenda finds that she was once again too lost in her thoughts. The opportunity to offer answers is lost, and Ce'luna has apparently opted to make fun of their priest. Crescenda looks at such goings a mite under her brow but forgoes commenting on the...word choice.

"The lizard's hide is hard enough to serve as armor but harvesting would be difficult without a nature expert. I, personally, lack the harvesting tools. A pity that."

Camlann Cobb

Once it becomes clear that Fable will recover, Camlann moves to inspect the doors on the other side of the room while ignoring the bickering.

"Someone sure liked copper," he observes. "This isn't the first set of copper doors we've seen here. I get the feeling they're not the work of our goblin hosts, though. Shall we see what lies beyond?" he asks the group.

Father Wilwick Bramblemane, Halfling Cleric

spacer.pngQUICK STATS:  AC=17, Touch=12, FF=17 / HP=8/8 / Init=0 / Saves: Fort=5, Reflex=2, Will = 6  ________________________________________________________________________

When Camlann proposes to open the set of expensive double-doors made of copper, Brother Bramblemane holds his index finger up to his lips and lightly breathes out, "Shhhh," as he quietly sneaks forward and leans in near the portal in an attempt to discern any sounds that might be emanating from the other side.

After listening for a few moments, the diminutive Halfling quietly backs away from the set of double-doors drawing his sling and a bullet as he moves. Once back with his colleagues the tiny holy man whispers and describes what, if anything, he heard on the other side of the doors, even if it was stone silence.

After playing his part and trying his best to help keep the group safe, the Domain Priest loads his sling and whispers with a serious look on his face, "We had better check these doors for traps. They seems a little 'out-of-place' which has my gut churning."

"Could be nothing, but something is telling me to be careful," Wilwick adds in the same hushed tone before positioning himself about fifteen feet or so from the double-doors, standing watch with his sling loaded and at the ready.

Fable bites back a smile at the lizard-meat banter. To the Brother, she says, "Oh, I am more than alright, now, thank you. I wouldn't mind eating what tried to eat me, but, well, we do have our priorities..." She gives her cross bow trigger a few test squeezes. Clck. Clck. Clck-clck.  Then, she goes to retrieve her spent bolt, if it can be returned to the case. Viable or no, she loads one into her device and keeps another ready in her left hand. "Good..."

Fable then turns her attention to the door. "Door seem off to you? Let me take a look." First, she gives it a very gentle prodding to see if it is locked; then, she examines it for any tricks full of ill will. Realizing that she might be being a bit excessive with her cross bow, she holsters it and its bolt and keeps a hand close to her thieves' tools...

Camlann pushes the doors open, reveal a narrow passage leading to the left. The short passage leads to a torch lit chamber. Massive bookshelves and burgundy carpet distinguish this chamber from the others you've seen. A few books lie on shelves, and you spy a couple boxes with the Sumberton sigil on them. Papers are scattered across the floor, and the carpet has muddy tracks on it that form a path across the room. Hammocks hang between the bookshelves. Standing in the middle of the room, with an astonished expression, is a stout goblin clad in chain mail and armed with a scimitar and shield. Next to him is a snarling, four legged beast (DC 12 to identity).

Crescenda is safely behind everyone's backs and in good enough mood to be idly examining the mechanics of her crossbow while humming a small tune, thus leaving the door to be handled by the experts - in this case that would be Camlann.

If and when noises do erupt to indicate a combat, Crescenda spends an idle thought wondering at the copper doors. She finds it odd their small skirmish with the lizard did not draw attention from this room's occupants.

Camlann Cobb

"Beware! Enemies ahead!" Camlann calls out to the others, now much more serious.

Show this

Actions dependent on initiative.

If Camlann wins initiative against both enemies or loses initiative but isn't attacked, he will charge the goblin if possible. If there's no clear path, he will move into the room and attack the closest foe. I'll roll his attacks when the initiative order has been established.
