Black Hill Caves — Underground Desert

spacer.png"Oh my gods, you act like I'm making it up to get attention or something." Val huffs as she continues to stare down the skeleton's skull for a few moments, though as each of your group manipulate the bones you do not recognize any evidence of any such green glow that she was talking about.

 

"Fine." Giving up on trying to press the issue, Val moved up to walk beside T'Sarra, falling quiet once again.


spacer.png"Why would they get back up, horned and tailed one?" Very much without intending to, Violet asked an innocent question that could possibly have been interpreted as humour if not for her ever-curious, yet persistently deadpan demeanour, "They just fell apart."

"Violet, that ignores the question of why they were moving in the first place." Keshka sighed and put the skull down. She kept the bow out as she resumed her place toward the front, keeping an eye on the tracks. It also let her face slip back into the exasperated and slightly peeved look that seemed to be her natural expression around Val. She was actually more annoyed at Khonnir than Val. She knew he had been to digs and salvage sites. But he had failed the girl, not teaching her the basics needed to properly assess a scene. It wasn't any surprise, at least Val wasn't rebelling as much as Minnow had, though the night before had been... to close for comfort. She flexed her hands, feeling the hard tap of her nails against the wood of the bow.

spacer.png Barhuce nods. "Yeah. Why they were moving is the important part. The green glow is a good clue, but we don't have enough clues to know what it means." He takes his place toward the front of the group, where he can check for traps and such if needed, doing his best to continue to ignore Val's teenager attitude.

"If they get up, we knock 'em down again," She replied to Vi, then paused, a far away quizzical look on her face. She shook her head and focused back on what was happening in the moment.

Still, might as well not make it easy for them. She paused, taking a cue from Keshka, detached each skull and then hurled it as far as she could away from the bodies in different directions for each skeleton.

"Best I can do. But that's not going to stop someone determined to get them up again. Let's not be here if they do. Come on, let's go into the light."

Black Hill Caves — Underground Desert

As your group settles back into the quiet rhythm of following the tracks through this underground desert, you wind your way between east and then south between rocky outcroppings and upraised ledges in the sand, eventually coming to another span of rocky cliffs that T'Sarra and Violet note would eventually end in smooth metallic glaucite somewhere between fifty to a hundred feet above.

 

Tracing the steps as they curve around south, you come to the entrance of a narrow cavern tunnel in the rock, where a crisp glow of light shines from the northern wall inside. Strangely though, no obvious source is apparent as to what is making this light.

Vri had been following the others keeping to the path and looking out for anything strange (well, stranger than their location) and potentially dangerous. When they arrived at the doors and the light, she turned to Val.

"Someone cast continual light in here," she asked, "Val, Can your dad cast that spell?"

"Well, how about that," Vri said when she noticed T'Sarra's arm disappear into the 'wall', "can I have a go?"

She wouldn't wait for an answer and try to stick her arm through as well.
