Underground Desert

"One, two three... are you all seeing this?" she called out in shock, knowing that they were. Barhuce had called it out, but she was in a little bit of shock at seeing the skeleton with two bonus arms. Still, the solution to deal with them was likely the same. A spear might not be the best, but it'd have to do.

Keshka and Vri's combined attacks, while not entirely nailing the skeleton in the most vulnerable of places, were nonetheless at least slightly effective, the strikes landing one on the upper left humerus, and the other on the left femur.

 

Instinctively, Violet stepped to the side one pace, and pulled out her metal baton to strike at the skeleton, though her positioning didn't much help Barhuce and T'Sarra at all. As she swung, the small metal beating stick that was otherwise no longer than perhaps twelve inches telecopically lengthened, and cracked the skeleton in the arm exactly where Vri's rapier point had stabbed earlier, this time breaking the bone entirely. The skeleton looked confusedly down to the limb falling away from itself, before the rest clattered down lifelessly back onto the sand.

 

"Um guys?..." Val pointed as the one skeleton fell, and following her gesture you see one more in short range, and another approaching from afar in the dark.

spacer.pngFeeling confident and a little cocky at how quickly the first foe fell, Barhuce moves forward and attacks. "This is my bash stick." He demonstrates use of the stick by bashing the ground near the skeleton.

Still holding her spear out, T'Sarra tried to circle around the close one and be ready for the far. She stabbed at the one she could reach, then turned to face the other.

"Let 'em come, don't chase 'em down. No telling how many are out there! Be ready to fall back if we need to. Don't get surrounded."

Having just laid low the first skeleton, the android Violet pivots and moves past Keshka to attempt the same strike on the next, though her baton misses the rack of bones by a few inches this time.

 

Keshka's arrow strikes her target in the right femur, but the projectile just bounces off the bone and zips off in another direction without seeming to truly harm the thing.

 

Barhuce's bash stick demonstration has the undead tilting its skull momentarily, but also ends up disorienting Vri's attempt to stab the skeleton as she charged up.

 

T'Sarra circled around the nearest skeleton, followed closely by Val. The young human's pistol rings a loud report as she fires, but the shot travelled too high and to the right. "Damnit!"

 

The tiefling's own attack however beared more fruit, as the spear did manage to do a bit of damage down at near the thing's fibula, even though it is appreciably less than should be expected, given the thing's lack of flesh.

 

In response, the skeleton(M) lashes out with its quartet of sharp claws, slicing the trio in front of it each with a swipe. Behind it, the other skeleton(V) closes in on T'Sarra and takes a swing, but manages only to swish the air around some with its own claws.

 

Right on cue with T'Sarra's warning, four more of these many-armed stack-a-bones lumber within sight, three from the southeast and one from the northeast, all in quick order to converge upon the group.

Vri cursed as the critter tried to attack her. She managed to parry it's attack and then counter attack, before moving next to Val and attacking the critter close.

Keshka hurried to catch up with the group, wanting to stick close to those having more success. She tried to shoot again, even chipping these creatures might buy them some room. "Do we need to push through? Does this place just create them?"

As Vri parried the earlier attack, Barhuce's mace popped the one skeleton's(M) femur out of its socket, and Violet moved forward past the clattering bones to the next in line(V), her metal stick whacking it broadside in the ribcage.

 

With T'Sarra's own opportunistic stab missing by only a fraction of an inch, she stepped back to call upon Brigh's blessings for the group. Vri quickly caught up and her rapier followed through with a stab to the base of its skull, and with a savvy twirl of the wrist, severed it from the spine.

 

Keshka's arrow managed to lodge between a shoulder joint and its nearby ribs in one of the other skeletons(Z), but as though it wasn't affected by the shot at all, the thing just kept coming.

 

 

Val was equally out of luck, her own shot from her pistol straying to the right this time by a few feet.

 


The rest of the undead keep closing in, with one of them(Z) taking an unsuccessful swipe at Val, and another(S) slashing a gash into the changeling's left forearm.
