A dark-haired woman wreathed in golden feathers, wielding a rifle, appears in the front window of the house. Both PURE riflemen across the street immediately train their guns on the subject and fire at her from their covered positions, just as her own shot rings out.

One of the riflemen grunts. The air is knocked from him as Olivia's expertly aimed shot tears cleanly through boiled leather, flesh, and collarbone, causing him to fall back into full cover behind the vehicle to assess the damage.

"ARGGGHHH!!! THAT DEVIL WOMAN SHOT ME!!" he cries out.



OOC

  • Olivia has cover from the riflemen across the street (+4 to AC)
  • Olivia is now exposed and can be targeted again next round unless she falls back into full cover on her turn.

ROUND 1 BEGINS!
Everyone may take their turn at their own convenience before the enemy's turn.

The young woman rolls her eyes, shouting back down, "We didn't all turn into a vehicle or whatever, old man!" She moves to the window, aiming her rifle down at the men who'd been shooting from afar, firing the gun at the one Olivia hadn't hit. She couldn't help but chuckle at him calling the one who looked most like an angel a devil.

Dan runs to Bhagat and places his shotgun so both can use it "We will later introduce ourselves." He draws his revolver, hard-won S&W, and fires a shot. Yelling above 'Snakey if someone shoots ne from the west I'm gonna come up and spank you."

Watch the Door, they're breeching with a shotgun, and one with a dog is circling around the house! Olivia shouts, taking a bead on the one still in the open, before preparing to intercept the group with her scimitar and incendiary rounds.

"DAMMIT JACK!! KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN!!" one of the rifleman yelled to his friend who'd just taken a round straight through the clavical. "You alright?!!" he asked.

The shot man sat, groaning, trying to assess his wound. "It went through cleanly. It just f#c$in' stings!!" he cried, his face all screwed up in a grimace of pain.

"Well you gotta be more careful... I don't want to have to explain to Sarah why her husb......." the man started to say in response to his wounded friend when the whole top of his own head suddenly exploded like a melon from a shot that came from the second story window of the house.

HOLY GODDD!!! cried the injured man as his friend's nearly headless body crumpled to the ground like a sack of grain. He screams in a fit of rage at seeing his friend killed and returns fire.



The front door of the house crashes inward and a hail of gunfire fills the entryway as the temporary tentants of the old house lay ready and waiting.

Bhagat's rifle shot, takes a chunk out of the wall, while Olivia's own finds soft flesh.

One PURE soldier tosses a small canister into the hallway that ignites into a blinding flash. "GO! GO!!! KILL THE DEVIL SCU-!!!" he begins to yell when a large caliber handgun bullet clips his shoulder and cuts him short.


BLINDING FLASHDAN, OLIVIA, & BHAGAT

Make a DC13 Fort Save

FAILURE = BLINDED for 1-round.

 

A second soldier storms past the first, through the doorway and fires off a round from his shotgun before ducking off behind the half wall that marks the foyer. The shotgun blast tears into the plaster and wood all around the three corrupted inside the house, but draws no blood.

Dan spits out a few stray pieces of plaster that got into his mouth and blinking after the grenade "We need to sort some of these s*its before we're surrounded." He drops the Revolver and picks up the Shotgun but instead of firing he places a finger on the trigger of the barrel with a slug shell and readies to blast the first one to poke the nose out.

"Ack, I got Manfred Mann'd!" Bhagat exclaims, recoiling as the flash-bang catches him looking. Grunting, he slings his rifle back over his shoulder and slips back into the hall and out of the immediate range of fire a pace, one hand on the wall to guide himself and the other drawing a Browning Hi-Power with a tastefully-done rosewood grip.

Janet lets out a hiss as one of the injured man's shots wings her, the other hitting the wall by the window she was ducking in. "God damn it. Stay down ya asshole!" She pops her head out just enough to get a look at him, her eyes glowing a little as she tries to put him to sleep, then sets her rifle aside, drawing her pistol to fire.

THE ENEMY ASSAULT

In one moment the rifleman behind the car, across the street was thinking about how he didn't want to die, as his dear friend's blood was just beginning to pool around his feet. In the next moment, his eyes rolled back in his head and he toppled forward, his cheek splashing hard into that very pool of blood. By the time he hit the ground, however, he was already far away, dreaming of sitting under an apple tree on the top of a sunny green hill calling out for his dog, Skippy.

"SKIPPPPY!!!", he hollers.

Sleep Spell

Rifleman #2 is asleep for 2 minutes.


Meanwhile, in the scorching heat of battle that wages in the entryway to the house, Olivia bursts forward in a winged fury of fire and steel. Her target, who is seething with adrenaline, reacts with keen precision to her attacks. He ducks her slashing scimitar as it takes a chunk out of the wooden half-wall over his head. He then mostly sidesteps the blast of dragon fire that follows, though it scorches part of his arm and the arm of the man on the front step, before roiling up into the hot noonday sky.

The soldier steps backward from Olivia and fires off another round of his shotgun at her. (15vsTouch/Dmg7) (no cover)

He then draws out a large framing hammer and sets his feet, intending to split her skull if she continues toward him.

The man on the front step frantically pats out the fire on his sleeve. He then levels his own shotgun at Olivia and pulls the trigger. (10vsTouch/Dmg7) (soft cover +2)


Suddenly, Dan notices two things happening at once as if his very words were prophetic.

The first is that the doorway across the hall from the study crashes open and the third gunman, who'd broken the window and climbed through into the spare bedroom, now stands there, shotgun in hand. He and Dan surprise each other and they both fire off rounds simultaneously.

Dan's slug cuts the guestroom door in half but misses the gunman entirely as he just manages to duck behind the wall.

The second thing Dan notices almost immediately is a feverish rattling of claws tearing into hardwood that comes from his left as a large canine crashes into the dining room from the back entryway and goes straight for him. (Bite: 21vsAC/Dmg3+Trip) (Dan gets AOO vs dog)


Bhagat sees white twinkling lights on a bright white background, but the sounds of thundering chaos fills his ears. Among that chaos is the sound of another soldier's stomping footsteps following the dog in from the back entryway.

@Lunermist The "Assault #1 reflex save" (guy on the front porch) should actually be 17 as he gets a +2 to his save from cover)

Olivia and Enemy #3 presently have full cover from each other.
