Stoyan Barakovsen

"Harsh?" Stoyan considers what he said and thinks it perfectly normal. Humans were coddled and emotional creatures, truly.

Granted, he'd done a fine job but what did he expect, praise? One doesn't praise good work, it was only what was expected after all. Praise would come for the truly exceptional. His own father had praise Stoyan only twice in his life, a gravelly, "well done" that had filled him with pride for months after each time.

He shrugs and hope his bypassing of the weight has worked, "Ready?"

With multiple people holding the rope, Ohthere slides in and begins slicing the rope connecting the chest to the log. First one strand snaps, then another; soon, the ends part gracefully, with no tension at all on account of Stoyan's rope hitch.

Now there is simply the matter of the log still hanging over the freed chest...

spacer.png"Of course." says Thorkell, and does exactly what Ohthere has asked. But at the same time, he feels uneasy about Golan's sudden departure. He looks over his shoulder, and then eyes the dwarf. They could do without splitting up, especially now.

With the end of Stoyan's rope, Ohthere secures the chest and quickly rolls out from underneath the log. It doesn't take long for the party to pull the chest away, and then the stout dwarf can let the log fall to the floor.

The torches flicker quite low, and will need to be replaced before they burn out entirely and leave the party in the dark.

spacer.png"Indeed." says Thorkell, a little impatiently-he has little desire to find himself in this place without light. "Let us do that, then." he adds, and begins to pocket some of the treasure, but something still continues to gnaw and bother him. "Where's Golan?"
