cheezal Posted November 30, 2023 Clone Share Posted November 30, 2023 (edited) Standing near the chest ,when Stoyan acts rashly against his speech about proceeding with caution. Golan dives in a flat dive immediately away from the chest, and where he would suspect the impact of the log would land, croutching his legs up on landing to prevent his legs or back being impacted. Eric Posted December 6, 2023 Author Clone Share Posted December 6, 2023 Golan rapidly retreats from the chest to a safe position, skidding across the floor and creating a faint screeching hiss from the metal on his clothing and equipment scraping the stone. Stoyan's poke shifts the chest about a half inch in the direction the rope is running, and the log lowers correspondingly the same amount. There is a gentle tinkle as some of the coins inside the chest shift. The torches gutter just a bit, sending swirling wisps of smoke toward the ceiling. ⏲️ TURN 8 🔦 Torches 3/10 remaining Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls Poke direction (1=N) 8 1d8
Powderhorn Posted December 6, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 6, 2023 Astrid, watching the log come down as the chest is shifted, asks, "Do you think we could just slowly push the chest, and slowly and safely let the log down?" Vladim Posted December 7, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 7, 2023 Thorkell watched the company's efforts with detached amusement, a smug and stupid half-smile plastered on his face. "I'd wager the mad mage is watching all of this from afar, and laughing at us." he mumbled-more to himself than anyone in particular, but the comment was audible to any who stood near him. He kept his eyes on that door, half-expecting that the wizard himself would soon emerge out of it like an undignified host, demanding explanations from the lot of them. He gripped his blade... he had his answer at hand. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls

Black Wyvern Posted December 11, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 11, 2023 Ohthere, having no real interest in the recovery of the chest, as he is dubious to its contents, sits down on the top stair and keeps an eye out behind the party for anything sneaking up behind. Powderhorn Posted December 12, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 12, 2023 "Alas, no pitons here," Astrid says. cailano Posted December 12, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 12, 2023 "However we do it," Vanya says in a low voice, "we should get it done. It's no good staying in one place like this." In truth, Vanya didn't know if lingering in one room was good or bad, but it felt bad. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls

Stoyan believes that if he ties another rope around the main on both sides of the eye-bolt through which the main is passing, he should be able to pin the log in place. Provided the knots hold, of course. Name xDiceName xDiceResult xDiceString xDiceRolls ??? 2 1d6

hoverfrog Posted December 13, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 13, 2023 Stoyan Barakovsen Stoyan ties his rope to the other, loops it round the eyebolt, and ties it to the other side, "It's simple engineering, for a dwarf anyway. This rope can be used to redirect the weight of the trap so we can recover the contents of the chest. The chest is currently the counterweight. I need some strong arms to help me carry the weight but as I'm the only dwarf I'll have to put up with your scrawny arms." "Golan, you're the scrawniest, you cut the rope and empty the chest. Be quick about it." cheezal Posted December 13, 2023 Clone Share Posted December 13, 2023 (edited) Golan raised his eyes to view Stoyan and his remark, and with a look and internal thought of contempt ,that this Dwarf ignored his own cautious approach, considering their safety, now expected him to just cut the rope. He adjusted himself off the wall and walked out the door to the south. He says with smirk as he pulls his dagger and moves into the room. Going to cut the rope.
