The necromental crumbles to rubble and there is silence once more, the party returns to doing whatever they were doing. The night is mostly uneventful (Nemyl and Austin had an event), morning comes and the party breaks camp and heads off towards the ruins. Only a couple of hours later the ruins are now visible, some campfires can be seen giving off smoke. The buildings are two or three miles away but figures can be seen moving from one place or another.

"Looks like they moved in quite nicely. I can scout ahead without getting caught, but we are going to have to get much closer for me to be able to do so. Using mundane means can get me far. Using magical means can get me farther, but they both have their limits. Unless one of you fine chaps have a better alternative, like scrying or farsight."

Henry reels from the creatures' blows, but luckily Wiliorn's magic takes the brunt of the force. Unfortunately, he does not remain unscathed...

 

He returns to camp with a sallow look on his face, the color drained from his cheeks and eyes. "Well, if there were any doubts about them having the taint of undeath, I can categorically refute them... I feel like I've been run over by a Mack tru... I mean... a stagecoach and all it's horses."

 

He groans as he curls up in bed and drags his prized book into his lap, allowing it's pages to flutter of their own accord until stopping on a section full of anatomical drawings, superimposed with magical runes. "Yeah... As I feared... If any of you are familiar with the Restoration spell line, I'm going to need a dose by tomorrow night."

 

He tucks his things away and hugs his pillow. "If not... well... I'll have to tough it out until it passes... and hope for the best..."

The color rushes back into Henry's face, and then some. He erupts into a shade of scarlet that would rival the ripest of cherries. He stammers quietly as he tries to regain his composure. "Oh... my... yup... I do believe that'll do the trick... Um... Thank you..."

 

Later, as they take a moment to analyse their next target location he adds. "Well, I can remain mostly undetectable if need be and..." He begins to rummage trough the various books and notepads in his pack, pulling one out with a smile. "Yeah, here it is. Let's see.... I'm no wizard, like Williorn here, but I can probably work backward and figure out one of these..." He presents a collection of notes pertaining to various low level spells. These pages seem to all refer to the school of divination. He taps a finger on one entry. "Chain of Eyes... Sounds promising... if someone can get close enough to touch them."

With the party healed they get a good nights rest, once everyone has prepped their spells and broke camp they continue on. The nights were cold and the middle of the day was too hot to be out in the sun, their drink kept them going in a stable state so they could function.

Around midday the ruins were in sight at last, by night fall you are but a mile away. Most of the buildings were no more than three or four layers of bricks high, the temple was not much better.

You briefly see this female, this could be Queen Khaamia or at the very least one of her minions.

As soon as he was finished, he went about casting several long-lasting spells upon himself, boosting his defenses with both arcane and divine power, as well as granting his blue eyes an almost eerily piercing depth to better see in the dark.

As they discussed their approach, the abjurer said, "I am equipped with greater invisibility, though the school of illusion is not my specialty, sadly. I do have a number of mobility spells, such as fly, dimension door, or benign transposition, depending on the circumstance. Of course, whether we wish to approach these ruins now, or wait until the morning, may be worth discussion."
