This was going better than Vri had expected. She put the gold pieces and the red silverdisk in her pocket, for now playing with the others. She put another two down for the next hand. She noticed that T'Sarra had gone towards the bouncer, but she was currently not doing so badly, so she kept going for now.

Keska unhooked her arm from T'Sarra's and pushed the tielfling forward a bit. "You know she was just talking about how she wouldn't mind seeing you in it." She then quickly stepped away from T'Sarra starting to move away from the casino. "Or without, I don't think she would be picky."

T'Sarra raised an eyebrow at Keshka for throwing that particular bomb, but it wasn't like she was going to back down now! She looked back at the bouncer, responding to her comment, smiling at Keshka's embellishment.

"Oh, it's all an illusion though, " she smirked and concentrated for a moment and her clothing shifted so she was standing wearing only undergarments from the waist up.

"Clever magic to cover the fact that I'm a big loser on the big wheel. And don't mind Keshka. I don't want to see you in my shirt, it'd never fit. You're much too ... bulgey. " She concentrated again and her clothing shifted to a copy of the bouncer's hanging a little loosely on her frame, complete with the wrist bands and those WEIRD shoes.


"Respect for that. I mean I'm no slouch in the physical development area but you make me look like a little girl. Got a ways to go before I can fill your shoes. Or fill out your tank top, for that matter. Not that it might not be fun to try. Shame you're working."

Torch — Silverdisk Hall

spacer.png"Wow. How did..." The bouncer seemed genuinely stunned for a moment, whether it was from seeing T'Sarra baring more skin, or from the fact that it seemed to have happened instantaneously. But then when the tiefling chalked it off as 'clever magic', she laughed, "That's a cool trick. Bet you do it to all the girls huh?"

 

"Oh no, I'm not always cut. And you're not so bad yourself!" She admits with a grin, stopping fully short on the cost of food around town lately. Taking a slight tangeant, the bouncer suggests, "Besides, it's nice to have a soft supple body underneath sometimes, no?"

 


 

spacer.pngThe next hand, Vri is dealt a Jack of Iron, and a Ten of Iron. The other player, having wisely stepped back on his initial ante after his recent loss, is now looking at a Ten of Stone and a Four of Stone. The dealer has an Ace of Iron, face up.

 

Looking to the half-elf, the halfling does not verbalize the options available, and simply gestures with an open palm to indicate that while the choice should be obvious, the call to hit or stand still belongs to Vri.

Blackjack Rules

Each player puts down a bet (limit 50 silverdisks) to be dealt in. The dealer then shuffles the deck, and deals one clockwise round of cards face up to each player, then one face down card to himself. One more round of face up cards are then dealt around the table.

 

Aces are counted as either 1 or 11, face cards as 10. The player’s goal is to beat the dealer by getting a count closer to, but without going over 21.

 

If the dealer has an ace or a “10” card face up at this point, he looks at his face down card.

 

A hand with an ace and a “10” card is called Blackjack. If a player has a blackjack and the dealer does not, the player is immediately paid out 6 to 5.

 

If the dealer has blackjack, he collects the bets of all players without.

 

If both a player and the dealer have blackjack, the player’s bet is returned.

 

Clockwise beginning from the dealer’s left, each player resolves their hand by playing it out against the dealer. She may “stand” (ask not to be dealt any more cards) on her total, or “hit” (ask for another card) up until she goes “bust” (count totals over 21), in which case the player loses her wagered bets.

 

A player may split an initial pair into two separate hands by placing down an equal amount to the original bet for the second hand. These hands are then resolved separately. Additional pairs dealt when making up the split may be resplit again.

 

A player may also “double down” on their original bet, doubling their wagered amount. A player may double after a split.

 

No other side bets are permitted. A player may “fold” and surrender their wager at any time.

 

After every player on the table has been served, the dealer turns up their face down card. He then deals additional cards to himself until his total is 17 or more. The dealer may not fold, split or double, and must stand on a soft 17 (a hand that counts to either 7 or 17 due to having an ace).

 


 

spacer.png"Hmm. I wonder why they're all showing up all of a sudden." The redhead shuffles and deals another around, giving the other player the Avalanche (LE, Dex) and the Hidden Truth (LG, Int) to start off his hand, and the Forge (LN, Str) and the Uprising (CN, Str) to Barhuce.

 

"Well would ya look at that. Two potential spreads. And that one could be a chosen spread." She looks appreciatively at Barhuce after dealing the cards.

Fortuna Rules

Each player antes 1 silverdisk as a minimum bet on the table to be dealt in. The dealer then shuffles the deck and deals each player two cards face up, at which point the player has the opportunity to stay, raise their bet (up to a maximum of 50 silverdisk), or fold.

 

After all bets have been laid, the dealer then deals each player their final face up card.

 

Pairs with matching alignment are paid out even money (1 to 1), Spreads (three cards forming a straight line along one alignment axis, such as LG, NG, CG) pay out 2 to 1, Choosing (all cards belonging to the same ability suit) at 3 to 1, Atonement (three cards forming a diagonal line across the alignment grid) pays out 4 to 1, Crusade (3 of a kind in the same alignment) 6 to 1, and Chosen Spread (spreads with the same ability suit) pays 8 to 1.

 

After winning bets are paid and losing wagers are collected, a new round begins.

The woman's fists were wrapped with lengths of rope, and she was dressed similarly to the rest of what looked to be guards around the establishment — that is, a set of studded leather armour, and with a hood over her head.

"That's enough," Vri said. At 20, there was no need to continue as only an ace could help you and one of the four was already out there. While the other guy continued play, Vri kept looking around a bit, while also keeping an eye on the table.

T'Sarra smirked at the bouncer, "Not as often as you might think, " she replied to the line about 'all the girls'.

"It's usually boys, if I'm being honest. Takes a very exceptional girl to turn my head. So respect for that," she nodded towards the bigger woman.

"And yea, it is nice to have a soft supple body underneath. It's just usually a man's soft supple body," she laughed pushing against the bouncer's rock hard shoulders, noticing with delight how she barely moved.

"I gotta say though, I kind of keep thinking how it might be nice experiencing the other side of that too. Wait, what's that?" she asked interrupted by the thug going to speak to Barhuce.

"Friends of yours? My soft supple friend winning too much for your boss' liking?"

spacer.pngWith Vri indicating a stay, the next player calls for a hit. Luck would have it, he is dealt a Seven of Stones, which brings his hand's value up to twenty-one.

 

At this point, the dealer flips up her face down card, revealing a Seven of Iron, for a soft eighteen. With a smile and a shrug, she pays out both of the players, once again giving Vri two silverdisks and four gold pieces.

spacer.png"Whoa whoa, it's okay! What's going on?" The redheaded dealer stands up, trying to calm the guard, who doesn't look anything close to convinced.

 

spacer.png"I watched him swap cards." Was the reply, as the guard roughly picked the alchemist up from his chair with a hand under his armpit.

 

"Let's go buddy, you're done." She says as she begins to escort Barhuce toward the door.

 

"No no no, you've got this all wrong!" The redhead chases after the guard, trying to argue in Barhuce's favour.

T'Sarra frowned on seeing the woman put hands on Barhuce and wasn't especially mollified by her bouncer's explanation. "He's not cheating, he's with me, gambling on the free discs your boss got for us. She's overstepping in a big way. So... " she paused, not sure where this was going to go.

"If I was to go down there and explain that to her, does that mean you'd need to go down and back her up? Because it seems a shame to have our promising little conversation head in that direction, don't you think?"

spacer.pngBarhuce raises an eyebrow and shrugs, making no sign of resistance other than to gather his chips (except for the ante) as he follows (or is pulled along) by the bouncer. "No idea what you're talking about, but I don't want any trouble either. Honestly, I'm only here because Garmen invited us and gave us 100 gold worth of chips." He flips the dealer the red chip he'd earned. "Thanks for the information about the automaton attacks. Maybe I'll see you around somewhere else. Have a good evening."

When they reach the door he nods at T'sarra "Guess I'm heading back to help Matuq and Val. See you in a few hours."

Vri was just about to start a new hand, when she noticed the thing with Barhuce.

"Go ahead, do one without me," she said, throwing her one of the silverdisks as a tip, before she headed to the exit where T'Sarra and Keshka were standing. She asked them what was going on and assuming they would answer, she headed to the cashier to have her silverdisks paid out, before she too would be targeted by the enforcers.

If I calculated correctly I have 8 normal ones (I gave one as tip), the red one and 12gp, for a total of 142 gp if I cash everything in.

Making her way to the cashier's cage, Vri receives no trouble changing out her red token for regular silverdisks, and a reassurance that the rest can be used as local currency, equivalent to ten gold pieces each.
