Morgen Keep IC

Recommended Posts

Ryzia finds no tripwires or other traps as the party descends the staircase.

Quote

A crumbling staircase leads down from the ruined keep to dark vaults lit only by torches and candles. Reinforced wooden doors close off many musty areas, and in other places, iron bars separate rooms with locked gates. Scattered among the rooms are chests, barrels, and sarcophagi filled with ancient treasures-or sleeping dangers.

Skills:6+Int modifier per level, quadruple at first level. Class skills are Concentration, Diplomacy, Escape Artist, Handle Animal, Heal, Hide, Listen, Move Silently, Spot, Swim.

Proficiencies: Nymph is proficient with club, dagger, dart, quarterstaff, sickle, short spear, and sling.

Features:

Nature Child: The Nymph loses all other racial bonuses and gains fey traits (basically Low-light vision). She's a fey with a base speed of 30 feet and a swim speed of 20.

The nymph casts spells like a druid of the same Nymph level. Suppose she multiclass's as a druid Nymph levels and druid levels stack for determining her spellcasting ability. She can choose to use her Charisma as a primary stat for her spellcasting, and if she multi-classed with the druid, the Nymph can use Cha instead of Wis for casting.

Ability increase: Nymph gains Cha + 1 at levels 1, 3, 5 and 7, and Dex +1 at levels 2, 4, 6 and 7.

Fey Body: At the second level, the Nymph gains DR/cold iron equal to half her HD.

Wild Empathy: At level 2 Nymph gains Wild Empathy as a druid, with a +6 bonus on check. If you have Wild Empathy from some other source your Nymph levels stack with that class for Wild Empathy (you still get a +6 bonus).

Unearthly Grace: At the third level, a Nymph adds her Charisma modifier as a bonus on all her saving throws.

Stunning Glance: As a standard action, a Nymph can stun a creature within 30 feet with a look. The target creature must succeed on a Fortitude save with DC equal to 10+1/2HD+Cha modifier or be stunned for 2d4 rounds. Nymph can use this ability Hd x Cha modifier times per day.

Unnatural Beauty: The Nymph gains a deflection bonus to AC equal to her Cha modifier.

Dimension Door: Dimension Door 1/day as a SLA for each 2HD she has.

Blinding Beauty: This ability affects all creatures within 10 feet per 2 HD of a nymph. Those who look directly at a nymph must succeed on a Fortitude save with a DC equal to 10+1/2HD+Cha or be blinded permanently as though by the Blindness spell. A Nymph can suppress or resume this ability as a free action, but it can't affect the same target more than once in a single day. This ability can be active for HD+Cha mod rounds per day.

Name: Winter or Icicle

Classes: Nymph 3//Sorcerer 3

Winter cast a spell to restore the health of Jorenis, Gwain and Fang, she used the lowest level spell as she knew that she was taught how to thread the magic to heal the wound a little bit better than normal. When she cast the spell on Fang she gave the great beast a cuddle and a fuss, she seemed to have an affinity with him.

Gwain disappointed shows 2 berries he found to Winter who was likely the only one being able to understand what he planned. "No point in casting Goodbery on these, there is not even enough for all of us. Thanks for the healing." he shuffles a bit in his bag pulls out a bottle of oil and gives it to Ryzia "Oil of Bless, if you treat your weapon with this when you spot something big, it should help out in the fight. Don't waste it on these usual mooks we just chewed through. It might be useful for some boss, or if we are unlucky enough to run into ghosts or other incorporeal stuff. Best you have it for now, I bought only a few bottles. If you want to use them from range it's enough for 5 arrows."

He looks around and asks more rhetorically than expecting a real answer "Right, where do we start in this maze?" He looks at Fang "Say thanks, to a nice lady for healing you then go and sniff one of those spooks and then sniff around a bit so we know where we might expect them." While others likely didn't notice any difference Fang looked at Winter with difficulty since his jaws weren't meant for such speech growl/whines something incomprehensible to most. But to her, it was definitely shot at spoken Sylvan, like 2 year old trying to say their first words and it was most certainly "Thank you, White Lady." or rather "Thnk, Whie Ady." but the sentiment was there. No matter the mistakes. It was certain in an intelligent glean of wolf eyes.

After that, the Fang trots into action sniffing previous victims and then down the stairs using just his sensitive nose to try and point the direction of possible danger At unasked question Rand adds in Sylwan "I spend a lot of nights alone in the forest and everyone knows that, at least in my dimension, forest animals understand Sylvan. They are just restricted from speaking it. So I during such nights thought Fang. It's still limited and far from fluent, and it doesn't help that he's actually very shy. You are the first person he made an effort to speak other than me." He spoke in Sylvan not because it was some big secret, but because he considered it Fang's private issue and it was not his to share.

Effects: Inertial Armor (3 hours total)

OOC: As the Marching order goes Gwain wouldn't be in the rear if he could help it, but since there is only 4 of us options are limited. So if everyone is cool with Ryzia first, then Jorenis, Winter, and Gwain he's too, Only when it comes to Fang he is moving up and down from being right behind Ryzia (he's not gonna move in front of her unless asked since he understands she has the job to do), to in front of Winter to behind Gwain with his snout to the ground. If something is gonna happen and you need to know exactly where he is. He started from behind Gwain and every "round" (6 seconds) would move. Behind Gwain> in front Winter> behind Ryzia > in front Winter>behind Gwain...

At the bottom of the stairs, you enter a modest-sized room. Within it are the stairs you have just come down, a couple of barrels tucked away in a corner behind the staircase, and a set of chests in either corner from the bottom of the stairs. You can see the entrances to three other rooms from your place on the stairs proper.

((Alert: The map has changed to reflect the new layout! Please be sure you're in the marching order you wanted.)

You barely have time to take in the room before there is a loud chorus of growls from the west side of the room. A number of strange, scaly quadrupeds bound out of the doorway from the next hall over, jaws dripping. Acid from their mouths sizzles on the stone floor.

Please roll for initiative. @paladinred @Grudge @rorytheromulan @darlis moonbeam

Gwain glances at Winter unsure, waving his hand making field shimmer around him and Fang then he clicks twice with his tongue and chirps making wolf just dig in more resolutely (Fang is ordered to stay within 5 feet from Gwain so he can benefit from share spells. Moment he moves from that distance connection breaks) Now both get +4 a deflection bonus to AC as swift action

He pauses, but still tries raising his arms with palm outward and talking both Sylvan and Common with rudimentary Elven sounding as Fang with Sylvan. He starts with Sylvan his mother language and one all forest animals know to some extent "We don't want to fight, my friend just got startled. We apologize if we disturbed your territory." He then repeats it in common than makes a pause but decides lives are more important than some old code repeating in Druidic cant.

In the end he tries Elven but all he manages is "Startled us. Don't want fight." Also while speaking he touches his chest on "we", both him and Fang getting slightly earthier shade He looks at others "Repeating in more languages would be welcome." He pauses as he glances at Ryzia "Any language...or cant would do." Not really knowing himself what to do but the fact beasts did not answer violence by violence would make him uncomfortable if they had to put them down. He looks at Winter almost pleading

The creatures growl lowly. You're pretty sure they're not interested in parlay; presuming they even understand such a concept. (Acid Beasts have an Int of 2 and are Chaotic Evil Magical Beasts.) They just want to kill and/or eat you. (They also haven't responded with violence yet because it's not their turn. :p)

Neither was Gwain yet it did not prevent him to do his moves this round. Fang is still standing marvelously covering 50 ft of terrain. Definitely buying that feat that allows you to take more AoOs in the round
