Fire in the Woods

The Situation

Gothika takes to the air and surveys the area. After a moment, she catches a glimpse of something moving in the underbrush to the north. At first, it just looks like a campfire, but it's moving, darting quickly away from her. She can't get a great look at it, but she's pretty sure it doesn't look like a fiery bird: it's running along the ground, and its form is kind of blurry and indistinct.

He then followed the lead of the others, running after them as fast as his stocky dwarvish legs would carry him. By the time they discovered that the flaming creature was not their pray, the potion had taken effect. Receiving Gothika's warning, the dwarf concluded that it wasn't the eagle. It must be one of Dshalvur's underlings!

"Mind your beards and your toes, lads, if you want to keep 'em!"

Talissa

The fire nymph seems to lock up in confusion, reluctant to get involved in the fighting. "Maybe I'll wait here?" she suggests, "I'm not much in a fight."

Gothika

((OOC: I'm going to go ahead and post an action for Gothika.))

Gothika flies forwards to get an angle on the fleeing creature, and takes a shot with her bow.

Longbow Attack Damage

Her arrow splits between the trees and stabs into the little creature. Its hazy, fiery form wavers as the arrow strikes, but it keeps moving

Creature

The creature makes a sort of hissing noise as the arrow stabs it. It looks back over its shoulder, a weird, faceless face that was stares at Gothika indignantly for a few moments. Then, the creature turns and bolts at rapid speed (it's taking the Run action, moving 160 feet away, and unfortunately, off my map already).

But then, you see a second flash of fire to the north, and a second creature is streaking eastwards.

He fires an arrow into the ground near the flaming creature to the north. They may not speak the language, but ‘warning shot’ is fairly universal.
