Nestled above a fjord and surrounded by hectares of pine forest and mountains in the westernmost area of the Land of Auroras, Matsugakure sits overlooking the brackish waters of an inlet river on one side and the vast ocean on the other. Sugar and red pine dominate the landscape, providing enough natural resources to make hardwood furniture and paper seals the major exports of the village. A sprinkling of juniper dots the surrounding pine forest—highly prized by merchants for the fine gin it creates. During summer, Matsugakure experiences a midnight sun for three straight weeks. And in winter the long nights are lit up by streaks of colorful auroras. Although far from the middle of the Land of Auroras, Matsugakure was established after taking over an ancient mountaintop fortress that historians claimed protected the coast from coastal raiders. While the times have changed, the isolation from the greater Shinobi World has led Matsugakure and the rest of the Land of Auroras a relative peaceful existence. But such a peace can never last long.

He could not simply resurrect you, not without having redeemed your souls, but he could animate your remains, bind your souls to them, and give you the opportunity to redeem yourselves. You were evil, without a doubt. When you died your soul was sent for judgement in the courts of the Lady of Graves. You expected the worst, to be sent to one of the lower planes perhaps to be raised up in time as a devil or a demon but more likely to be used as currency among the powers there or tortured just for their amusement. What you were not expecting was to languish in the Boneyard for years, awaiting your soul being weighed. Perhaps you hadn't realised just how badly you'd messed up your life but the prospect of having your wicked deeds read out to you was what you had to dwell on. Then you find yourselves back in your old bodies though they are weak and rotted, animated by dark magic. A familiar face looks down at you, "Welcome back."

In a sullen mining town called Diamond Lake, cultists beholden to the Way of the Ebon Triad walk widdershins around an ancient pool, chanting time-lost rituals to summon a tripartite god. Three days to the south, where the hills meet the fetid shores of a great swamp, a tribe of lizardfolk gathers to raid a human fortress, whipped into frenzy by a zealous black dragon. Welcome friends to Age of Worms. The Age of Worms Adventure Path (or simply Age of Worms) was the second Adventure Path for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, published over twelve installments from July 2005 through June 2006 in Dungeon magazine. A campaign designed to take player characters from 1st to 20th level, Age of Worms was given an Honorable Mention in the "Best Adventure" category of the 2007 ENnie Awards.

Before we get into the details of the campaign, I would like to lay out my expectations.

Expect your actions to have consequences. Don't be stupid. Play smart. If I give you lots of hints that opening the box will unleash fiery death. Don't open the box and expect to live. Age of Worms is notorious for being a hard AP. It will take all your wits to survive.

I'm a storyteller, the rule of cool applies. If it's cool, cinematic and epic, screw the rules- I'll probably allow it. If this grates against your rules lawyer soul...we are not meant to play together. I also allow a lot of Kobold Press 3rd party material to give my players more options than what is allotted by the base 5e system.

Unless I tell you otherwise...assume you can play with the scenery to help craft the story. I expect each of you create interesting scenes, don't just walk into a room, roll the dice, and ask what you found. Tell me what you are saying, and doing, and what your ultimate goal is. If I need a dice roll, I will ask for one.

Endless Dungeon

In the ancient annals of magical history, there exists a tale whispered among the bravest adventurers, a story of a dungeon unlike any other. It was at a time where all most dangerous dungeons, created by the most powerful entities in existence were being conquered one by one, by the sheer number of adventurers or really powerful experienced ones. When the Age of Dungeons was ending, a millennia ago, in a time when the arcane arts were still at their zenith, a cabal of the most powerful mages gathered in secret to create a challenge that would defy the bravest heroes and prove the indomitable will of magic over mortal strength.

This cabal, known as the Arcanum Conclave, chose a desolate and remote location, far from the prying eyes of civilization, to construct their labyrinthine masterpiece. Through a combination of ancient rituals, forbidden incantations, and sacrificial magic, they forged a dungeon that defied the laws of reality itself. A living dungeon capable of restoring itself, learn with its mistakes and constantly grow.

The Endless Dungeon, as it came to be known, was a twisted amalgamation of shifting corridors, deadly traps, and malevolent guardians. Its architecture defied comprehension, with staircases that led to nowhere, rooms that rearranged themselves at will, and walls that whispered ancient secrets to those who dared to listen. Each chamber within the dungeon was a test of both skill and wit, designed to confound and ensnare even the most seasoned adventurer. From bottomless pits to halls filled with illusions, from rooms that inverted gravity to corridors shrouded in eternal darkness, the challenges within the Endless Dungeon were as varied as they were deadly. Always changing and adapting to those that tried to invade its impenetrable walls.

Over the centuries, countless adventurers have dared to brave the depths of the Endless Dungeon, drawn by the promise of unimaginable riches and the glory of conquering the unconquerable. At its highest of popularity, thousands of brave adventurers dared entering its halls to face the deadly dungeon each year. Most of them were never heard again, lost forever to the bowels of the dungeon. A few returned with their lives, not intact, but mangled, broken and telling stories of incredible riches and weird experiences. None of the survivors have succeeded in conquering the dungeon and desired to return for another attempt.

With time, the Age of Dungeons ended. The Endless Dungeon was almost forgotten. A whole city was created around it, initially to provide support for the constant stream of adventurers, later in an uneasy truce with the dungeon. Less and less adventurers arrived to test their might against the dungeon, until only a few appeared each decade.

Years ago, you had come to Coswegotch University for a job, but it did not take long for this to become your home. Sure, Harvard was known for being more prestigious and, yes, Yale was lauded for academic innovations made in recent years. Of course, Miskatonic was recognized for its libraries of antiquarian volumes but in your opinion none of them held a candle to Coswegotch. One of the oldest institutes of higher learning in the Northeast, Coswegotch University, and its picturesque town of Babylon, were situated between Oneida Lake to the east and the much larger Lake Ontario to the west.

Once a venerable institution, it fell out of favor among the elite and wealthy of upstate New York, but this has begun to change recently. New professors have been attracted and additional courses of study have been added. Big investments, such as expanding the collection of the Whitmore Museum and Research Repository as well as the construction of the Murray P. Grayson Gymnasium, have many thinking that Coswegotch will soon be competing with the more well-known universities.

There was no one happier with all this progress than Professor Antonius Gellman. A fixture of Coswegotch for over forty years, most recently in the role of the Whitmore Museum Director, he was respected and liked by all. Being his friend, you were happy to hear him announce his retirement some months back and were looking forward to the party his wife had planned. All of this made the news of his passing three days ago just that much harder.

The wake had begun an hour ago and you were running late. Taking a quick look in the mirror to make sure all was proper you hurried to get there before it ended. As you walked to the campus chapel you had no way of knowing that soon your eyes would be opened to a terrible reality that swam beneath the one you knew. One of ancient powers and unheard-of horrors, one that any sane person would beg to forget.

You had no way of knowing paying your respects to your friend would be the first step on a path that led to madness.

What is City of Mist?

City of Mist is a role-playing game of film noir investigation and super powered action. It is set in a modern world rife with crime, conspiracies, and mysteries. The protagonists are Gateways, ordinary people who became the living embodiment of a legend, their Mythos. While your Gateways may seek to strike a balance between the mysterious nature of their Mythos and their mortal aspirations, the powers within them always threaten to tear their lives apart. They have unwittingly become a part of a secret world of clashing stories, and soon other legends will come looking for them with demands.

Who are you?

In the shadows of shiny skyscrapers and derelict residential blocks, ancient stories and urban legends assume physical form, choosing mortal beings as their Gateways to this world. But the Mist, a mystical veil known only to a select few, prevents the unwitting denizens of the City from ever acknowledging the miracles they witness daily, hiding their true nature from one another. Distracted by their everyday hopes and fears, the people on the streets remain oblivious to the clash of mythical forces that drive and control the very life of the City.

You were an ordinary person—until the seed of the legendary awoke within you. Now you seek answers to questions about your powers, but the truth always seems to elude you. What this game is about?

Once, in the very beginning, there was only the City of Mist. The Mist started there, but its power and its oniric qualities could not be contained. Soon it spread with utmost speed, consuming all, like a malignant tumor. And now you live in a World of Mist. But the world did not change, everything looks exactly the same. Everyone lives their lives as before, don't recognizing the undeniable truth, that the world changed. Strange things started to happen and everybody just pretends to don't see them.

Most of them were harmless, but some dangerous, and some even lethal. Crimes and deaths of supernatural origin happen, but when the Mist intervenes, the authorities disappear, the police ignores and nobody really cares. Only you, and maybe others that have awakened like you, care. Those people that care about the state of the world founded a secret organization, the Light Beacon, the only option for those that want to know the truth. They are deeply unsatisfied with the current situation, and willing to take justice in their own hands.

Red Hand of Doom

The dry hilltops danced with fire.

Throughout the heart of the wild badlands the humans called the Wyrmsmokes, great bonfires had been kindled atop the ridges overlooking Elsir Vale. There thousands of warriors had gathered: hobgoblins in armor dyed scarlet, thick-thewed bugbear berserkers, goblin worg riders and skirmishers and archers, and the scaled ones as well, who often towered over the rest. For so long they had fought each other, tribe against tribe, race against race, engaged in the endless test of battle, feud, and betrayal. But tonight...tonight they stood together, hated enemies shoulder-to-shoulder, shouting together as brothers. And they saw that they were strong, and together they danced and sang and shook their blades at the smoke-hidden stars overhead.

"We are the Kulkor Zhul!" they shouted, and the hills shook with the thunder of their voices. "We are the People of the Dragon! Uighulth na Hargai! None can stand before us!"

One by one the tribes fell silent. Armor creaked as thousands turned to look up to the Place of Speaking. There, a single champion emerged from the assemblage and slowly climbed the ancient stone stair cut into the side of the hill. A hundred bright yellow banners stood beneath him like a phalanx of spears, each marked with a great red hand. The warpriests holding the banners chanted battle-prayers in low voices as the champion ascended.

On the hundredth step he stopped and turned to face the waiting warriors. He was tall and strong, one of the hobgoblin chieftains, but dull blue scales gleamed along his shoulders, and jutting horns swept back from his head. "I am Azarr Kul, Son of the Dragon!" he cried. "Hear me, warriors of the Kulkor Zhul! Tomorrow we march to war!"

The warriors roared their approval, stamping their feet and clashing spear to shield. Azarr Kul waited, holding his hands aloft until they quieted again. "The warpriests of the Doom Hand have shown us the way! They have taught us honor, discipline, obedience - and strength! No more will we waste our blood fighting each other. We will take the lands of the elf, the dwarf, and the human, and make the ours! Under the banner of the Red Hand of Doom we march to victory and conquest! Remember that you stood here this night, warriors of Kkulkor Zhul! For a hundred generations your sons and your sons' sons will sing of the blood spilled by your swords and the glory you win in the nights to come! Now, my brothers - to WAR!"

The burning hills were too small to hold the shout the Kulkor Zhul gave in answer to their warlord's call.

💀Something is rotten in the Kingdom of Aglarion💀

Play in what is probably the most widely anticipated 3rd party adventure of 2022 for 5th Edition D&D. Crown of the Oathbreaker is a massive 900+ page campaign that has everything from palace intrigue to adventure in the fey realm, shadow realm and even into hell itself.

The book is based on the feedback of over 2000 D&D fans whose votes on their preferences gave the backbone of the adventure and the campaign setting. The community influenced the fine details of the story and the setting through Elderbrain’s Discord server. The players will have to explore lands ravaged by the curse and travel to the Feyrealm, the Shadowrealm, and even Hell, where they will face hard moral dilemmas before saving the crown from the dreadful effects of an otherwise inevitable pact. A sinister bargain has caused suffering for the people of the land and has created a mad witch-knight hungering for revenge.

This campaign will cover levels 5 - 15, with its sequel Torrents of the Spellhoarder coming after for levels 15 -20.

The land known today as the Kingdom of Aglarion has a rich past spanning thousands of years, influenced by cataclysmic events that involved multiple planes of existence. Since the dawn of time and prehistory, all the way up to its current state as a monarchy, the land and its rulership has changed many times. Several key events have shaped its past, namely the descent of the Dark Star and its dark angels during the Mountainfall, the rise of Sarath of the Shining Light and a cruel theocracy, and the establishment of the Kingdom of Aglarion by King Razmyrel Melkar and Master Arlen the Constructor, the first archmage of the land. Starting Level: 5th level start

Alignment Requirement: Any (but all characters must be able to work as a team.)

Starting Equipment: You will start with the basic equipment given to you by your class and background, plus an additional 600 gold pieces, and one item from the below list. You can sell starting equipment using the rules in the PH and can buy equipment and spell components found in the PH or available rules.

Ability Scores: Ability scores can be generated using the 27 point buy as featured in the PHB.

Backgrounds: Any from the source books listed above or any from the material in the Character Creation tab. Customizing backgrounds is allowed but must be approved by the DM, same with any player built custom backgrounds.

Backstories: You are going to want to take a few days to read through the Kingdom of Aglarion Gazetteer before writing this. It should include references, common sayings, etc.

Character Submissions: You will also need to start a thread in the Applications area for your submission. If you have any questions about my rules for character building, any thoughts about character backgrounds, or to request that I review your character then you can do so by Clicking Here.
Application Deadline: August 20th, 2023 midnight (US Central Standard Time)

Post Requirements: Minimum posting rate of two to three times per week.

Party Size: Looking for 4-6 players.

Other Requirements:
- I want players who give detailed and interesting posts. Not one-liners and blocks of speech text. The rule of three applies here. What is your character thinking, doing and saying.

- Expect your actions to have consequences. Don't be stupid. Play smart. If I give you lots of hints that opening the box will unleash fiery death. Don't open the box and expect to live.

- I'm a story teller, the rule of cool applies. If it's cool, cinematic and epic, screw the rules- I'll probably allow it. If this grates against your rules lawyer soul...we are not meant to play together.

- Unless I tell you otherwise...assume you can play with the scenery to help craft the story.

Can I submit more than one character?
No. I'm going to go ahead and limit it to one character submission per person. That being said, feel free to change your character concept as much as you want between now and the close date!

There have been rumors of infighting among the Drow. Of course, the Drow have always been infighting but this is at a whole other level. The rumors talk about a religious war among the Drow. What the religious war is about none but the Drow know. The stories are confused and mixed up. The King of Alroon He has hired adventurers from all over the world to find out what is happening. You are one party of adventurers that he has hired to investigate what is going on.

What is known is that the Drow have been buying kobold, orc and goblin slaves in large numbers to fight their war. Some of the tribes have been fleeing the Underdark and conducting numerous raids on the surface. A few hobgoblin warlords have formed petty kingdoms here and there as a result.

You can be any race that I have access to except Drow, any class and of any nonevil alignment with stat point buy. You get max HP, standard equipment +300 GP and can buy magic items. I have the Core books plus Sword Coast Adventures, Tasha's Cauldron, Xanarthar's guide and Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft

Savage Arkham

1.   Start as Novice with two advances. One advance can optionally be switched for the Great War package, and one optionally for a Profession package (see post).
2.   Sanity (SAN) a necessary setting stat, calculated (like parry, toughness) as SPI/2 +2
3.   A key part of the character’s identity is their profession, which will determine their credit rating, networking and CK bonuses.
4.   Languages. Using the Multiple Languages option, characters know a number equal to half their SMA. The linguistics edge allows languages equal to SMA.
5.   Money and possessions. We’ll use a resources die (no $ values on char sheet please) to handle money as per optional rule.
6.   One gritty rule. Characters who take more than three wounds in a turn are killed without recourse to a soak or incapacitation roll.
7.   Game expectations are important—please read before applying.

Classic 1920s Arkham. Mythos setting using SWADE savage worlds for a pulpier feel. Characters are locals banding together to thwart Mythos threats to their old city. Looking for players able to support a pacy (3/week) post rate, write atmospheric posts and follow a clue-driven investigation. SW is a pretty pulpy system, so characters will be able to fight n shoot down most mundane opponents. But will struggle for health and sanity against the mythos’s nastiest.
