"All three of you sound late for your midafternoon shots." Raenala chimed into the conversation with mirthless droning. Her head doinked, gently, against the window. Peeka was lucky, Raenala forgot that other people could see them and was idly petting away down the length of her back.

Duncan is just laughing at the comedy of errors as they ride back to the ship. He sits casually in the back with Davir, swaying slightly whenever the transport does. It seems the large man is comfortable on these types of drives.

As the conversation about the computers winds down he speaks up, "Yo, so uh, what do we wanna do with this extra crate? I mean, selling it sounds great and all but let's be honest, the food on the ship sucks. Like, a lot."

Giving the side of the Cargo Rig a firm clout as an all clear, Runo sends the crew off with a wave and a smile. Coming back into the parking lot of Prat's Produce it seems that the rain has finally stopped, and streaks of sunlight are beginning to pierce through the overcast. Maneuvering through the surprisingly full parking lot Akari merges the rig into the flow of traffic back towards Ship's End.

All told a good start to the job. If the crew's luck holds they can reach Akiton with time to spare, guaranteeing a tidy bonus for their hard work and a chance to really enjoy their winnings. Some of the crew might not even remember the last time they could afford to cut loose, so this could prove to be a rare treat...

As the spaceport comes back into view, up ahead, a raggedly dressed old woman pushing a cart across the street yelps in alarm as her cart tips over and rusty tanks of petrol tumble out, scattering in every direction.

Traffic stops haltingly and drivers in nearby vehicles shout, but the old woman ignores them. Instead she walks slowly to one of the rolling tanks, picks it up, and carefully cradles it in her arms as she returns to the fallen cart.

When he sees the commotion ahead and the delay it would cause and the distraction it would cause as well he became very suspicious and began to look around to see what all was really going on here. "Look lively folks I don't trust this, this might be an ambush. "

"Do we have any other way around them before this pile up gets worse?" Raenala was tapping away at her datapad, pouring over the various routes the GPS would give her. Frustration drew her gaze towards the traffic around her. The focus of her gaze drifted, plying the alleyways for any hope of a route around.

"I mean, I could also jump out and help them," the large man says even as he is getting to his feet and approaching the exit of the rig. "I can have this jam cleaned up in no time. Look at them, they seem like they could use the help." It is as if his crew mates concern about danger is lost on the big man.

"Aye, Duncan, lad, can't stick like a mined out rock. We get it moving, rest of us keep yer face radars on the haul, ye", Davir nods, before standing up at the top of the hauler.

"Help the ol' gal an' stop honking, ye seat-bound dirtsluggers!", he roars out, his voice unnaturally loud in the middle of the street. He regales the surrounding cars with an almost exaggerated look of righteous indignation. "Have ye no ol' mas and pas?"

He leaps down from the top of the stopped hovertruck, making his way towards the nearest petrol tank as his hands dramatically ushers out the paused drivers from all around the pile-up. "Move it! You're about as much use as a coprolite orb on a bantrid!"

Spacer's as a rule are suspicious - comes with the territory you could say - and in this case that suspicion is warranted by the crew. While the untrained eye would only see an old, shabbily dressed Lashunta woman with haphazard cybernetics, the crew sees that there isn't an ounce of organic material on her frame.

She's a construct through and through, and a shabbily put together one at that.

Davir: Startled by your corpse-like visage and the clangorous tone the amplifier gives your voice, a Lashunta rather meekly exits his car and begins scouting about for another of petrol tanks.

Just a quick update post, but yeah y'all see that the old lady's a construct.

With regards to the petrol tanks, there are about six in total.

"This isn't right," Raenala's tongue clicked with annoyance. Her boot pushed the passenger side open, while her arms pushed Peeka back onto the middle seat. She climbed onto the roof and clambered back onto the attached beds of cargo. The poorly disguised construct had enough eyes on it. She took to overwatch with her fingers wrapped loosely around the grip of her holstered pistol.

"Fighting to protect a couple dozen crates of berries..." She mused that mirthless murmur, brevity to bury the anxiety. Decades of her life laid on the line here.

As Duncan gets out of the rig and starts to approach, he pauses as the ruse is uncloaked. "Dav, yo, Dav that's a robo. This is a setup, those petrol's are going to blow. Stay back, I got the metal." He begins moving a little faster toward the revealed construct, he keeps his hands free ready for the situation to escalate.

"She is, isn't she! Good eyes, lad!", the man replies, petrol tank in his hand. "Move it out the way! To the sidewalk! We don't want the street 'sploding do we!", he roars at the lone lashunta helping as he grabs a couple of tanks and rushes to the side of the road.

Jin studies the situation for a moment, then mutters, "This is definitely a trap." He glances at Akari. "Would space goblins be smart enough to set a trap like this, I wonder?"

He sighs, then opens a window and peeks his head out to yell "Everyone clear the area!" at anyone who will listen.

Akari takes stock of their surroundings and tries to figure a way out of their current predicament. If there is any wiggle room for him to do so he will try and work his way out of this potential trap. At Gin's question to him he shrugs his shoulders "Individually probably not, organized in a group perhaps they could, of course they could also be working for someone. Though I have heard that when talking about Space Goblins, you might as well be saying Space Pirates. "

With the klarion of traffic and a morass of steely colours all around her, little and less seems to pop out to Raenala's gaze. She shifts too and fro as Akari tries to reposition the rig in the event that an expeditious withdrawal is required.

As he does this though, Jin catches something in the sideview mirror while shouting out to those out on the street; a small vehicle - a junkcyle by his estimation - pulls out from behind a parked vehicle and moves towards the back of the rig... and its pilot has a toothy grin behind blood red eyes.

A Space Goblin!

Concurrent to this, the junky looking construct narrows its gaze at Duncan and Davir as malice crosses its face. The Lashunta that had been helping Davir notices this and drops a fuel cell, runs back to his car, and locks the door.

OOC

I'll roll Initiative for the Goblins and the Junkbot. Just need Initiative rolls from the rest of y'all.

For reference, the Goblins are about 100 feet back at the rear of the rig. The Junkbot by contrast is about 15 feet ahead of the rig, with Duncan and Davir I'd say in the 10 foot range.

Akari starts cursing under his breath, as he begins looking around for a path out of this trap. "Ok I need to focus on getting us out of here, everyone else probably should be shooting at them to keep them off of us."
