Glass shards rain down onto the level below (the one you are on) along with a very surprised looking human aristocrat, who lands with a thud.
Oh dear! I seem to have ruined things!”

 

That’s when you see the massive shard of glass that’s nearly bisected the marilith.
 

From above you hear “Hold it, we’re calling an official pause!”

Flaming DwarfDespite his initial disdain for the humans who had constructed this dungeon, Igni realised he had been overconfident. The narrow gap between the stones was not a flaw in their construction but a cunning trap and one which he spotted too late. He heard others cry out as the blade flashed up towards him at great speed but Igni's panic took magical effect and he vanished, reappearing with a thud a few feet back.

"Ye'll want to avoid that one," Igni remarked drily, indicating the trapped area. "It's unfriendly."

At that moment there was a crash behind him and a thousand daggerlike shards of glass fell from the ceiling along with a flailing noble, lacerating Mezzina as they fell. Ignoring the noble, who would likely have help from the organisers, the dwarf teleported across the glass covered ground and laid a gauntleted hand on the injured Maralith's shoulder, muttering a prayer to Tharmekhul and hoping his god wouldn't be too angry at the loss of his holy symbol to help out in a crisis.

As the healing light emanated from his palm, Igni whispered an idea to Brody who was beside him. The dwarf knew what he could do and what he could not and persuasion was not his forte. He indicated his intent by flicking his eyes upwards to the crowd. "See if ye can get them to drop us a healing potion or something. Appeal to their sense of fair play and sportsmanship if ye have to. After all, it's hardly a fair contest if a spectator's accident affects the outcome. Or the betting," he murmured.

“Dreadfully sorry to interrupt. Please keep going, you're doing so well!”

 

The hole in the ceiling is covered with a spare tarp, and held in place with bricks in the corners. The glass remains on the floor, it will have to be cleaned up later.
 

“Ok, ok, place your bets for the second half!”

Flaming DwarfNo one seemed keen on adopting his idea so Igni continued on with what he could do himself. Having given Mezzina what first aid he could, the dwarf moved over to Shizuka, who was still looking quite the worse for wear.

"Not much more I can do after this, but there's no sense holding back when we could be skewered at any moment!" he remarked, recalling his recent brush with the scythe blade. "Reckon ye can all jump the plate that triggers it?"

Shizuka

spacer.pngShizuka waits a minute for everyone else to make their attempts to clear the trap. Should they fail badly enough, she wants to be alive to actually attempt to aid them. Frankly though, all these deadly traps are really getting annoying. Shame none of them know how to disarm them properly.

Actually, now she thinks about it, maybe it's possible to gum up the trap with the creatures from earlier? She waits for the results of people attempting to clear the trap before mentioning this, just so as not to distract them further.

After a series of jump checks, everyone jams themselves into the corner. The stone hallway twists and turns ahead, growing narrower. While you wonder what dangers await, you can hear the commotion above as a new round of betting begins.
 

“Do you think they’ll all make it?”

“Honestly, I don’t. Look at them - they’re looking in rough shape now, and they’re not done.”

“You never know, maybe Rhynehurst has filled the rest with flowers and song?”

*polite laughter*

Flaming DwarfIgni teleported past the trap as the others all jumped across. It was a good thing he could blink around since wearing as much armour as he did made things like jumping a bit too difficult.

With everyone safely across, Igni took the lead again, hefting his hammer and shield and advancing to the next corner and beyond, where the path seemed to narrow even further. "Gets a bit tight from here," Igni called back to the others. "Have to be single file by the looks of it. Best choose yer order or there'll be some squeezing to do to change it!" he chuckled, eyes roving over the ground ahead, looking for any sign of further traps.

Snow straightens out his top and goes behind Igni.

It doesn’t take long for Snow to see just how devious Lord Rhynehurst’s designs are. Igni takes a few steps forward, and another scythe swings out directly at him.

Flaming DwarfIn what was quickly becoming a habit for him, Igni stepped onto an unseen pressure plate and another scythe flashed up at him from a hidden slot in the stone. He really would have to start looking for those more carefully.

Igni's magic saved him once again, but its use was limited and that was all he was capable of until they could rest. The next time a scythe came for him it would find him.

"Found another trap!" Igni announced unnecessarily, as if everyone hadn't just seen him nearly get cut in half. "Maybe drag that corpse round to gum up the works again before ye jump. I'll try to catch ye on this side if that helps," he suggested.

Actions

Immediate: Abrupt Jaunt to teleport 10ft forward upon triggering the trap

Move: back towards the group to the square immediately northeast of the trap (I'm assuming the square north of the new trap is also a trap)

Aid Another for each person jumping (If that's too many actions then just the first person, Igni's Jump is terrible anyway)

EDIT: Nevermind, Igni's jump is so terrible he fails at aiding anyone at all. And that's even with me forgetting his bonus was -3 and putting +3 for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rolls. You're on your own people!
