Fire Dwarf SmithFortunately for Igni, falling was not something he worried too much about as his Pegasus Cloak allowed him to drift down without harm. The pressure plate at the bottom was a worry though as he pictured the floor erupting with spikes or the walls closing in or the pit filling with water.

None of that happened though, much to the dwarf's relief, although a cry of pain from above told him the party had not gotten off scot free from his misadventure.

"Well if ye noticed the pit trap I inattentively missed, would ye mind saying something next time?" Igni replied irritably from the bottom of the hole. Perhaps it wasn't wise to annoy those whose help he needed though, so he left it at that. Looking up from the 40ft depth of the pit he remarked. "Aye, I could use a hand. This is a bit deep to blink out of. Can ye drop me a rope?"

While Brody was still a bit peeved at Igni he did pull out a coil of rope. "I am not sure I am strong enough alone to anchor to bring you up but perhaps others are." he grins mischievously at Snow at the request to toss them. "Well that sounds like fun, when do we start?"

Fire Dwarf SmithIgni nods gratefully to Brody and Mezzina as he is hoisted slowly out of the pit. "Much appreciated," he murmured as he clambered over the edge of the pit and stood up, back on solid ground once more. He noted Brody's irritated expression and the blood from the small wound he had taken as a result of Igni's sudden fall and grimaced awkwardly. Without saying anything further he muttered a brief prayer to the Tender of the Forge and laid a gauntleted hand on the injury, a healing light restoring the flesh to normal in a moment.

Wordless apology conveyed, Igni turned to the problem of getting over the pit. With his Blink Shirt it wasn't a problem for him personally and he quickly teleported across to a spot near Snow, leaving enough space for one of the others to land.

"Aye, nobody tosses a dwarf!" He replied solemnly. The tibbit's idea was a good one but the sturdy lump of steel that was Igni was probably a good enough anchoring point himself. He likely weighed more than any two of the others put together. Turning to those remaining to get across the dwarf held out his open hands.

"Ye can probably just jump across, it's not far. But before ye do, tie the rope around yer waist and toss me the other end. I'll anchor ye and can haul ye up in case ye fall." Igni was self aware enough to realise the irony in his words. "I have some experience in these things," He said with a grin.

Brody grins at Igni. "Wait, no dwarf tossing contest?" He checks his gear to make sure everything what buckled down and would not cause him a problem when he jumped. . "Well here goes nothing."

He starts looking around once he gets to the other side to make sure there were no more Traps before the dwarf set another off.

Shizuka

spacer.pngShizuka is beginning to regret investing in her fancy, almost form-fitting armor. She could have purchased something like whatever the dwarf is using to teleport about. Ah well, hopefully this mission pays well and she doesn't embarrass herself too much with her inability to jump. She's a stalker, not a leaper! She does secure the rope around her waist though; no sense in not doing so if she's not confident. If fortune favors her, she'll not end up needing it and her paranoia will be for nothing.

Naturally, her paranoia is immediately justified when she fails to time her jump properly and very nearly tumbles straight into the pit.

Mystress Mezzina tried to jump over the pit and was so relieved when she did, there was some benefit to having legs but the tail was better on this occasion. Looking ahead she says "can someone check for traps as we go, it would seem that they are such a bother".

Shizuka’s footing slides at the wrong moment, and down she goes into the pit! A cheer goes up from the spectators, who are happy to see any sort of mayhem.
 

Everyone else makes it across, and it’s not too difficult to haul Shizuka up to the far side. While the hauling is underway, Brody has a chance to look for traps. This side of the hallway seems safe, but the curtains await!

 

There are two purple curtains blocking the walls ahead and to the left. Between them is a small brass sign.

Brody sighs in relief at making it across safely and not finding any more traps for the time being. He moves over to take a look at the brass sign to see if anything was written on it and if he understood it. Before moving to the curtains he looks to the others. "I think I can open the curtains from a distance, so that we can have weapons ready in case something is there waiting on us. Is everyone ready to move on?" OpenOpen/Close spell

You can open or close (your choice) a door, chest, box, window, bag, pouch, bottle, barrel, or other container. If anything resists this activity (such as a bar on a door or a lock on a chest), the spell fails. In addition, the spell can only open and close things weighing 30 pounds or less. Thus, doors, chests, and similar objects sized for enormous creatures may be beyond this spell’s ability to affect.
