Chase Scene

Ez Chazak

Ez continues running feverishly, bypassing the stunned firenewt and his inattentive mount. At this point, he can see Dshalvur and his other minions approaching too.

Dshalvur

The big, blue creature hoves into full view ahead. He stands nearly 8 feet tall, and has the horns and burning eyes of an efreeti, but burns with an intense blue-and-black flame as he speeds closer to the wagon. He begins to slow his pace and casts a spell. A patch of grease appears beneath the feet of the horse.

The horse slips and panics momentarily, but manages to keep her footing.

Rushing over, Gregory spots the big blue flame creature. Remembering what was said about their adversary, he had a thought. It might not be a good thought, but it is what he had. Using all the stealth skills he doesn't have, he rushes close to Big, burning and blue hoping not to be noticed too badly.

 

Move: Double move ~90-95' towards Dshvalar. It should put him about 30' away from him I guess about Y-6?

Gregory boldly goes right after Dshalvur.

Dshalvur's Minions

B2 is still out of the fight, and his mount is wandering off.

B1 and his mount both try to attack HooGrawr:

Both of them hit HooGrawr with their weapons, dishing out 12 total damage (before DR).

The two grues come streaking across to woods, nearly catching up to Dshalvur's position.

Gothika

Gothika continues her pursuit, and takes a shot at B1's mount.

Mounted Combat

He is not able to swerve out of the way of Gothika's arrow, and it stabs into the giant strider's flank. The beast jerks and squawks in pain, but it's still up and running.

Chase Scene

The Party

HooGrawr rips into the firenewt, slashing his throat open. He finally falls limp in HooGrawr's arms. The strider tries to nip at her, so she slashes it also, killing it along with its rider.

Kildrak readies for an attack from from Dshalvur

Talissa & Wagon

The fire horse, Chee, has to slow down and walk carefully through the grease:

Chee fords the grease easily enough, then quickly tries to build up her speed again.

"We're almost there!" Talissa calls out, "When we go through the portal, it's going to get hot!"

Ez

Ez's arrow flies true, and stabs right into Dshalvur's chest. The creature of bluefire sneers angrily at the attack, but keeps his focus on the wagon.

Dshalvur

Dshalvur heedlessly charges across the woods, directly at Talissa. As he arrives, he extends his arm and touches her:

(This action will trigger Kildrak's readied attack.)

Touch;Damage

his hand touches Talissa, and there's a strange flare of magic. Talissa screams in agony.

Fort (she should have taken -4, but she fails either way)

Cha drain

Kildrak watches as Talissa's flame withers at Dshalvur's touch, and her face seems to become gaunt and emaciated. Part of her flame turns pale blue and is absorbed into Dshalvur's form.

Kildrak's readied action is to attack Dshalvur with Stone Vise. If he hits, Dshalvur takes an additional 1d6 points of damage and must make a DC 15 Fortitude saving throw or have his speed drop to 0 for 1 round. Presumably this happens on his next turn.
