Chase Scene

OOC: Fire Protection

I'm going to say that the heat from the Plane of Fire will start to cause fire damage after 3 rounds on the plane. The damage will be 1d6 each round after that, so Gothika's fire resistance will generally negate it. Talissa's attune form ability negates the effect entirely, so Gregory and Kildrak are protected (Ez will gain the benefit next round, if she casts it on you).

Will vs Baleful Transposition

Gregory casts his spell. Kildrak suddenly sees the villainous cinderspawn before him disappear, to be replaced by a winged Gregory. Dshalvur appears thirty-some feet away to the west, confused for a moment and looking around to get his bearings.

Grue

The grue at the back of the wagon leaps up onto the wagon and breathes fire through the cage, covering Kildrak and Gregory with fire. The phoera squawks in alarm and agitation, but is not harmed by this fire.

Fire Spray (fire dmg)

((Ref DC 12 halves this damage. This is a spell-like ability. Attune form (the effect Talissa gave you) does not protect against this fire damage, but regular fire resistance or immunity does.))

Then, with a hearty laugh, he complimented, "A clever trick! Well cast, my friend!" Without skipping a beat, the dwarf braved the flames to smash his hammer upon the approaching grue, his potion protecting him from the fire without as much as a scorch on his armor.

Chase Scene

The Party

Kildrak and Gregory both succeed in halving the fire spray damage.

HooGrawr protects herself from fire and steps through the portal onto the Plane of Fire with everyone else.

Gothika takes a shot at the grue.

Blur Miss Chance (20% miss)

The arrow stabs the grue in the chest, and a little spout of fire gushes from the wound.

The creature dodges Kildrak's attack

Talissa

Talissa casts attune form on Ez, then runs back towards the wagon. "We need to get going again! Hurry everybody!"

Talissa’s magic -did- make him less sweaty, he was grateful for that.

Chase Scene

Blur Miss (miss on 1)

Ez's arrow shoots into the back of the grue as it clambers onto the wagon. The grue hisses weirdly and its flame begins vibrating. Then, it puffs out of existence with a violent burst that startles the phoera, which goes back to squawking.

"Calm down!" Talissa calls out to it as she settles in on Chee's back. She is not able to afford the task the focus needed to actually calm the phoera down: it's mostly just to calm her own nerves. "It's okay! Everything will be fine! We're getting out of here now!"

Dshalvur

Dshalvur angrily snarls at the party and casts another spell. Thick strands of sticky webbing cover the wagon, the party, the phoera in its cage, and the nearby flametree.

((This is a web spell. Everyone in the pink circle is entangled and must succeed on Ref DC 14 or be immobilized as well.))

Then, Dshalvur rushes along the edge of his web spell to get in front of the wagon before it starts moving again.

(( @paladinred, what a nice damage roll!

@joran1313, where are you throwing the flask? Are you trying to burn the web in front of the wagon?

With the web spell, you're entangled automatically, even on a successful save, so you take -2 on attack rolls and -4 Dex, for a total of -4 on your splash weapon attack. That's a result of 10, but that's still plenty to hit a grid intersection (AC 5) at up to 3 range increments (30 ft) away. So, choose which intersection you want to hit, and the flask will burn away webbing in the 4 squares around that point. The fire will spread from there next round.))
