Chase Scene

The Party

Kildrak swings his hammer at Dshalvur, but Dshalvur dodges, avoiding the blow.

HooGrawr rushes to catch up ((I'm giving you 90 feet.))

Gothika continues shooting at the last firenewt. At this point, it's pretty clear that the firenewts are out of the fight: you can probably safely ignore them now.

Talissa and the Wagon

Still reeling from the major damage she just took, Talissa tries to spur the wagon on. "I'm going for the portal!" she calls out weakly, "Hold on! Can the others see us? I don't want to lose them!"

((I'll say she uses the Withdraw action to avoid drawing an AoO. I'm not sure how that's supposed to work with a wagon, but we'll just run with it.))

As you drive forward, Kildrak can catch just a faint glimmer that must be the portal. As soon as the wagon draws close to the portal, it becomes visible as a glowing doorway radiating flickering light like fire.

((The rest of you can't see the portal at all: it's invisible until you get close. Creatures from the Plane of Fire can see it normally though.))

Ez has now caught up with everyone, and is right on top of the bad guys.

Dshalvur

The big blue fiery person sneers again at the PCs and growls something in Ignan as his two grue minions before rushing towards the wagon. His fist flies out to attack Kildrak at the end of his charge:

The cinderspawn's arm reaches through Kildrak's armor and touches his skin with a sharp, icy cold that penetrates deeply.

Dshalvur's touch is cold, and seems to drain Kildrak of some of his zeal and force of personality.

Gregory flies right up to the wagon. Now, you can make out the portal, as well.

Dshalvur's Minions

The remaining firenewt is clearly out of commission as his mount wanders off.

One of the two grues keeps rushing after the wagon. It spots Gregory flying overhead and spits a 30-ft cone of fire up towards him

The Party

HooGrawar and Gothika rush to catch up to the wagon. Kildrak swings at Dshalvur, but the big cinderspawn is agile enough to dodge away from his hammer.

(( @rogueblade0729, you can use that melee attack to refresh your warblade maneuvers if you want.))

Tallisa & Wagon

"Here we go!" Talissa says as the wagon plunges into the portal. Kildrak feels a wave of intense heat rush over him, and the world all around him is filled with bright, burning flames. It takes a moment to adjust his eyes to the brightness of it, and the utter, oppressive heat. All around him the ground seems to be paved with a lawn of low-burning flames that spring from a bed of coals. Trees erupt from the landscape all around, with flames sprouting like leaves from their boughs. The sky is dark with clouds of soot and ash, but the lead seems to illuminate itself with its myriad of flames.

As soon as the wagon emerges on the far side, Talissa whispers a sort of prayer, and a strange shield of magic washes over the wagon and over Kildrak. The heat suddenly seems much less oppressive to Kildrak, and the wooden wagon does not catch flames immediately.

((This ability duplicates the effect of an attune form spell, which negates the harmful planar effects of the plane you're currently on for 24 hours. So, you won't be harmed by the heat or toxic atmosphere of the Plane of Fire, but you don't have any protection against fire damage from other sources.))

"Sorry," Talissa says, "I can only do that once we're on the plane, so we had to get her before I could protect you."
