Adrianna gave the former priest a blessing and thanked Mark for his swift actions "I was not certain that he was an undead, thank you for dispatching the foul being. His spirit may now rest in peace, we need to know if the others are ok. We can search this place at a later time" she says as she begins to make her way back to the ground level.

 

The rain now came even faster and Adrianna wished it would stop, exiting the church she makes her way back to the others.

A Great Upheaval

With the bell silenced in the dead of night; the rain seems to fall more heavily than before. Your hearing readjusts to the silence as you press onward into the darkness - unknown threats lurking just beyond your vision.


Each one of you traverse toward one another, eventually finding each other mid-way from your previous locations. You find yourselves outdoors again where the rain and mud continue to impede your ability to scout the region. To the north east lies the building previously mentioned as a larger structure with a single hole in the ceiling. You could continue your search by moving into the structure or head south toward the farmlands that both Gelfin and Adrianna had previously seen. Otherwise you will have to head either north or east; both directions leading you further into town.

 

Weather & Effects

Weather: Raining: -4 penalty on Spot, Search, Ranged Attacks, & Listen checks. Visibility is Halved.

Time: Night, Darkvision.

Temperature: Chilly

Wind: Light, 5-7 mph

Gelfin feels better when everyone is back together. "So what did you find in the temple, what was ringing the bell?"  As he waits to know what his companions found in the town he looks around,.once again noting the larger structure in the town, it was likely either an Inn of some sort or it was the home of whoever was in charge of this town. Either way it would likely provide more clues as to what was going here and could even be a place they could stay safe for a time once they made sure it was safe. He looks back to his companions before speaking up "I think our next steps might be to check out this large building and make sure it is safe. It could be our base as we determine what all has happened here? Thoughts?"

With that little detour out of the way, Orcbolg has at least confirmed something for himself. "There were worgs in the town, we dispatched them easily enough but that means there is likely a breach in the wall somewhere, or they were thrown in like those rocks. Either way, with worgs around we are unlikely to stumble across anyone out in the open. So there isn't much point in looking for survivors outside of buildings." Orcbolg nods to Gelfin's suggestion. "Temples are often places of shelter in a crisis, so if it was empty we need to find a community center or town hall of some sort. Somewhere large enough people could gather and bar the doors and try to wait a situation out. That large building is probably a good place to check first."

Temple empty, except for zombie ringing bell. I removed its head. Person who made it and told it to ring bell will know something has happened.

I agree. Let's look in big building.

Mark will move along with the group as they head for the large building, trying to stay ready for any new trouble.

Adrianna too was glad they were all together, she looked over the others to see if they had injuries.

"The larger building would be the next to house survivors, there has to be some right? The attackers would not have killed everyone surely" Adrianna says with worry in her voice.

Aravari wipes her mouth as she finishes drinking the potion. "I agree that we should check out the larger building. A boulder may have been launched through the roof, but its still enough to house survivors. We just need to find some people to figure out what's going on."

A Great Upheaval

With the bell silenced in the dead of night; the rain seems to fall more heavily than before. Your hearing readjusts to the silence as you press onward into the darkness - unknown threats lurking just beyond your vision.


After some deliberation you decide to head North East, toward the larger structure near the centre of town. As you approach through the rain small details begin to make themselves known to you. A single hole that is the size of a boulder appears to have hit the building squarely in the centre. The structure's outer walls appear quite well worn, indicating the building has been here for many years. It appears that one of the walls along the North West side has collapsed, offering an entrance to anyone willing to crawl inside. There is otherwise a main entrance to the structure decorated with an ornate sign labelled in common as "Nightstone Inn".

Weather: Light Rain: -2 penalty on Spot, Search, Ranged Attacks, & Listen checks. Visibility is Halved.

Time: Night, Darkvision.

Temperature: Chilly

Wind: Light, 2-5 mph

Adrianna not worried about traps opens the front door, she tries to be as quiet as she can, and once inside she looks for signs of life. If she does hear anything she will point to the others the direction of the noise, once the others are in she will then progress to the noise.

As they get closer and he can see that one wall has collapsed Mark figures it is not likely they will find any survivors in this larger building.

No wall means no secure. Doubt we find anyone there.

He follows along staying ready to fight anything that comes popping out of the darkness at them.

She takes a short gander at what she can make of the collapsed wall, but otherwise avoids it as long as her companions do.

Moving towards the old inn he begins to investigate around it before preparing to step inside, he looks over to Aravari. "Just because the outside looks bad, does not mean it is not still secure on the inside, we should check it out. With the bell silenced in the dead of night; the rain seems to fall more heavily than before. Your hearing readjusts to the silence as you press onward into the darkness - unknown threats lurking just beyond your vision.


You enter through the front door of the inn with soft footsteps and wary glances, nothing initially catching your eye. The inside of the building appears to be forty five feet across and thirty feet wide with various debris and wooden furniture scattered about the room. Six tables each sporting numerous chairs to accommodate guests have been sparsely placed in various places with even spacing, two of the four walls appear to be adorned with hunting trophies of various animals and the occasional beast - worgs included. The ceiling has been completely caved in closest to the centre of the room with a stone the same size as the others embedded in the floor.

Stairs appear to lead up to a second story of the building off to the side of the room and there is a second door that leads to a back room. From where you are there is no indication of damage to the side wall making it likely that the back room has seen most of the outer damage.
